Do yourself a favor and find someone other than this company for mowing. To get a contract for mowing, one "must" also agree to spring and fall cleanup services at $85 per man hour. It's in the contract, but rather hidden in the verbiage. I admit, I didn't read it thoroughly. They said, "two men were there for one hour." I was home. I only saw one guy blowing. I have pictures of what I had to cleanup after they were done. If I don't pay, they will cancel my mowing - and they already have my $1,500 for the season mowing contract. read more

I've used Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape now approaching 20 years and continued using different facets of the Blake Miller Group to replace my wood deck with a Timber Tech PVC deck, anchoring my PERGOLA to the new deck, and expanding my beds in front and back of the house. Last year's project was replacing my concrete walkway and stoop with Pavers and this year's project enhances my walkway with a Hydronic heating system and replacing the driveway with pavers and extending the Hydronic system beyond the walkway and stoop to heat the driveway. Now, with all the rain we've received, I received a notification that the 4th of 5 lawn treatments will be delayed so as to maximize the treatment's effectiveness. Transformed a 1/2 acre blank canvas into both entertainment and relaxation areas to be enjoyed for years. Would definitely use again and recommend. I used BM for a complete backyard creation of hardscape/landscape design-build including over 2,000 sq. ft. hardscape around & adjacent to pool, dry kitchen, 325 sq. ft. pergola, nine-foot fireplace and entire backyard landscaping & automated lighting/electrical system. Process was several months with regular iterative design modifications and very responsive communication with 3D visualizations. When it came time to begin, they coordinated with other subcontractors and laid out expectations with a professional & friendly crew and performed field changes with ZERO request for change adjustments within the realm of the base scope. I contracted with this company to plow our driveway. On March 2, 2018 there was a storm with significant snow. They charged me for two plows on this day but NEVER SHOWED UP. When I called to have the charges removed they told me that I "pay to reserve a spot on their route" and they removed only one of the charges as a "courtesy". My contract is a PER PLOW contract not a reservation on the route. I will never do business with these folks and I highly recommend no one else does either. They are DISHONEST and the customer service is nonexistent. Extremely disappointed how his was handled by Blake Miller. Based on other reviews this is standard operating for them. read more

Have really tried to give Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape a shot. Had called multiple times asking to get a quote on Mulch and Top Soil delivered, told they were going to call back and me following up calling them asking for the quote. Finally got the quote, was fair and around the same price as everyone else. Issue at hand, was they asked when delivery was needed, I had told them earliest as possible and they said they could get it to me by 10am. After 3hrs past 10am, called and had asked nicely when I could expect the delivery. Was told that it would get there, when it gets there. We were looking to them to be the go to spot and also a driveway plow contract. At this point they have lost my business. When running a business, you should have a clue on scheduling a delivery. You should also call people back when looking to spend their money with you. Very unsatisfied on such an easy task. Hope the Mulch and Soil is as good as they claimed it to be. read more

I would recommend that if you need a landscape company look somewhere else. Read all the bad reviews on line on this company. After repeated complaints about the mowing I finally fired them. I called and canceled the service and about two months later I received a summons to appear in court. I testified in court and raised my right hand and told the truth, unlike the lies that were being told by Blake Miller. I ended up winning in court.....it was a cancellation fee I was being sued for, a small fee that turned into a large amount with attorney's fees and penalties. I paid for the year (10x) and they came as needed, but sometimes they hit before most of the snow actually came so I still had to shovel anyway. They came one extra time and I didn't pay immediately for the fee went up to almost $50 from $10. I wanted to dispute the increase and before I could reach the owner it went up to $75 then beyond. These guys turned into real creeps and would never actually talk to me on the phone to resolve the situation. I'd never use them again. read more

Their landscaping services are alright but their snow plowing service is a criminal fraud. Came at 5:00 AM and 7:30 PM after 1.5 feet had fallen. Long before and after they would do any good. They would have been more effective if he had just come up onto my stoop and relieved himself there. The salt and urea might have prevented further accumulation. Several calls and unanswered emails later and I'm left with this review as my sole recourse. ONLY USE THIS SERVICE IF YOU LIVE IN PITTSFORD. I just saw his snow plowing contract for this upcoming season. If people sign up AFTER OCT-19, he will not be required to fix any lawn damage. It's near the end of the contract so I'm sure a lot of people will miss it. This is one example of a sneaky contract. The contract is huge. Keeping your driveway clean is a simple task so go with someone that has a simple contract!!! I saw another complaint online where he plowed the driveway at the same time the owner did it himself and charged him. He went on to say that they showed up when there was only an inch of snow. I guess what they say about not always trusting what you read on the internet is true. I was hesitant to contract Blake's team because of some of the negative feedback but I must say, the crew went above & beyond. We hired them for fall clean-ups and they did an excellent job picking up the leaves and prepping our garden beds for another Rochester winter. They also did our driveway plowing. And while yes, there were some delays in service due to the mega-storm (like the roads were shut down, we didn't NEED to be plowed immediately & understood the situation at hand), the prices were totally fair and were there when we needed them. Looking forward to working with them for our summer projects including a new patio, walkway, and uplighting. read more

I contracted them for lawn service years ago and had a terrible service performance. They would not show up on designated days and skipped weeks despite repeated calls to them, and worst they still sent the bill. We settled out of court. Hired them for our lawn service provider which turned out to be a disaster as their Mowing crew would continually Mow our back yard right after a fresh rain and made our lawn look like someone took their car through and did a lawn job. They did eventually come to reseed the area but they were more like pass the buck people who blamed it on a new crew or when we'd call early the morning of the scheduled mow date to ask that the backyard not be mowed I'd recieve an excuse that they had no time to inform the crew who usually didn't show until the afternoon, I guess cell phones don't travel well in the Miller circle. The lawn crew even damaged the lawn around a neighbors tree whil mowing our lawn and he had to call them to fix it. Miller seems to have personel issues that us as consumers should avoid read more

Contracted their service ( weekly lawn care ) I was given a price for the season based on once a week cutting for a period of time. Aprox Sept pending weather. Each time they arrived they spent less than 20 min. You would have thought it was a cross country race tearing up the grass where the tires were spinning out and digging in. They mowed just short of the 1st snow. WEEKS after the grass stopped growing. As a result of this, my bill was DOUBLE !.. WTH ! Don't make the same mistake several of us did on our street. The first time they came to my house it was worse than a movie. 1- Mowed the neighbors lawn accidentally and scalped a large area on the front lawn. 2- Ran into and broke a bench in a small seating area in back 3- Mowed down $200+ in flowers in the back yard that were a foot tall 4- Blew all the grass onto the backyard patio. What he did to me was to get me to sign a low ball snow plowing contract in April, then he sent NO communication, did not put any stakes in my driveway, and as far as I could tell he never plowed. I forgot about the contract and hired someone else who put stakes in the driveway and plowed it . Suddenly in Mid January the NEXT YEAR , he sends me the contract back stating that I owe him money and if I cancel I owe him MORE money. So I tried to work it out with him, but his admin Mindy is as nasty as he is. Wouldn't respond to my questions. I tried to be fair an pay him the $100 cancelation fee, but he mailed it back after about 4-5 months and tried to keep charging me monthly interest. Then he brings me to court for that and tries to get $300-$500 out of me! Mind you, the whole snow plow contract was only worth around $200 in the first place. He had the nerve to say he had never sued anyone before!!! The Arbitrator negotiated it down to $250..... and wouldn't answer me about what would happen if I never paid it. I have tried calling 4 times, left voice messages, and sent 3 emails to cancel my service, and ask about the late fee. No Response. I contracted with Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape for our lawn care for both the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The weekly mows were adequate, though they never did a very good job of blowing clippings of my porch and patio, it was serviceable for the $32/week we were paying. The healthy lawn pest control, fertilization, etc was outsourced to another provider, something Blake Miller never mentioned. I actually liked the third party folks, Highland, who are apparently in a dispute with Blake Miller over non-payment. The price was a bit steep, but as I like to bundle services for convenience, it was worth it to me to find an all in one business. (hence my disappointment over the sub-contracting) I just got my bill for this year's fall cleanup: $520! In past years, I've paid no more than $250 for such service. Our lot is .75 acres, we have no flower beds or shrubbery and minimal trees. This is too much, and I was given no indication that it could run this high. I have paid this bill today, but am deeply upset by it. Finally, the customer service with Blake Miller is terrible. When I sent in my 2015 contracts , I requested that my lawn me mowed later in the week than in 2014, when they came on Tuesdays. When I was assured this was possible, I pre-paid the entire season. When the mowing started, the came on MONDAY. exactly the opposite of what I had requested and was assured would happen. Calls and emails to Blake went unreturned. Since I had paid for the season, I decided to simply ride it out and find a new provider for the 2016 season. However, after hearing from Highland Lawn about their issues with Blake, and then receiving that ridiculous bill for my fall clean up, I felt compelled to post here and on other social media sites to share my experiences. read more

I have used Blake Miller Lawn & Landscape for snow plowing for a few years. They have been great. They are out plowing with every storm and send emails verifying that they are plowing. Last spring I signed up for basic lawn service....weed control, fertilizer, aeration, etc. Again, they did a great job. I highly recommend them. read more

Where do I start with this company? His service is absolutely HORRIBLE. None of his landscape "foreman" know EXACTLY what their doing. He shows up with them for an hour then leaves. My patio looked nice when finished, but over a few weeks started sinking in places. There was no resolution to the problem because after doing business, he will not answer your calls. Every week is a new set of guys mowing your lawn, with different equipment. Can he not keep employees? Is his equipment garbage? They cant even properly trim my everything or blow it off. I have to admit, I had some concerns after I read the reviews, but a good source had recommended them for my snow plowing and so I went with Blake Miller. I found him to be responsive and responsible. Over the years I have used several services, all of whom promised to return in the spring to repair any damage. I have experienced lawn, driveway and garage damage but never did a vendor return as promised to repair anything. Blake's people came out to rake and re-seed unsolicited! Also, I called because the plow had caught siding trim on my front porch. He sent someone out to inspect it and the repair was completed within the two-week time frame promised. I have been favorably impressed by the service and the price was reasonable as well. read more

My experience with BM was for residential snow removal. Service was OK (had to call a couple times later in the day when no one plowed after an early morning snowfall). They do not have a seasonal rate, only a per trip charge (first ten trips discounted). Since I ended up paying by the trip after 10, I shelled out almost $600 for the season. As you might suspect, I will not use any contractor in the future that doesn't have a full-season fixed rate. read more

If I could have rated them zero stars I would have. I hired them this year for snow plowing on a per trip contract thinking it would give them the incentive to plow more. It however did not. They came at 430 am before the major storm. Throughout the day we recieved about 20 inches of snow and they never came again until 730 pm. All other services in the neighborhood came more than once. We called. We emailed. We sent Facebook messages. No response. Inexcusable poor service. Call your customers. Email them (as you listed this as YOUR preferred method of communication ) Do something but to just not reply is not acceptable. read more
