I don't live in New Mexico anymore so every time I come to town I get the Blakes green Chile cheeseburger. We can't get them in Tulsa so it's a treat about once a year. This place deserves a negative 5 stars! Hands down the worst service, and food I have ever in my life paid for! Where do I start!? This place is so Ill ran the manager did not know how to process a refund for the person in front of me. She had to call other employees who weren't answering to get walked through how to do it. After ordering i asked how we get our food when it's ready since there is a 2 customer max occupancy at any 1 time due to covid and no one was waiting inside for their orders. She said come back in 25 minutes. Meaning i had to go back and wait in line a 2nd time just to get my order. I had to guess at time and hope it was done, because i wasn't waiting in that line 3 times! I could think of about 15 other ways to handle this issue more efficiently, but they give two craps less about the customers. That is evident! The cook, cooks burger patties for 15 minutes! These aren't thick patties, and shouldn't take more than 4 to 5 minutes tops. My burger was so burnt and charred I could not even stand to eat it. The bun was even over done. Essentially I ate and paid for two pieces of charcoal between two pieces of card board. A 5 year old could cook a better hamburger. My buddy ordered two hot dogs. When i was picking up his order the lady says "sorry, we only had 1 hot dog left. Do you want a brownie?" A freaking brownie????? Is that a Joke? Nope, she was serious. I told her no, he ordered food, not sweets, he wants food. So she said fine and told the cook to charr up an itsa-burger. Again, way overdone and horrible. He took 1 bite of the hot dog and said it was the worst hot dog he'd ever had! Who can't make a hot dog. Cmon! Overall we spent 50+ minutes here, and got food that was worse than just eating some dog food! I will NEVER go back to this or any other Blakes again. Their service, and food across every restuarant in NM only ever gets worse! Corporate does not care, and their attitude trickles down to the employees. They should just close this business down before ruining the name and old reputation of what once was the best burger in NM for good! read more

Blake's burgers tastes like burgers when I was a kid--the beef doesn't taste like it's mixed with filler and preformed Into Pattie's before being flash frozen and shipped out )maybe it is, but it sure doesn't taste like it.) The green chilis taste fresh and the onion rings are the bee's knees. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about order accuracy but I'm the seven of eight times I've been since I moved here, I've never had a problem with order accuracy and I usually do ask for no tomato and light on the onions. The service was horrendous!! This is the third different Blake's that I have had horrible service. Don't try telling corporate they don't seem to care either. Ordered my food online 1 hour before arrived. They had not even started cooking it!!! Asked how long and all the cashier said is "your next" to start we had people call out. When asked for a refund was told only corporate could do that. The cashier offered for me to come back tomorrow. That does not work as I don't live in the area. So had them make them and would wait. Thought ok use the restroom while I wait and asked and was told "it is closed by the board of health". I don't want to be negative so let's start by saying the fries, shakes and hamburgers are so good! Maybe even the best in the area. But talking about the service something needs to change. I spent 45 minutes when it wasn't busy waiting for a green chili lotta burger, a chocolate shake, a itsa burger and fries because they got the order wrong 3 times! And their attitude when they were "trying to fix it" was more like blaming me for their mistakes (they put mustard when I asked for no mustard, on the second try they forgot the chili and cheese and on the third they made a itsa small burger instead of what I paid for) If they improve their service, this chain restaurant will continue being a great place to go whenever I visit New Mexico. read more

Blake's is great burger. Fresh. Tasty. Good value. Food is made to order. But it is NOT fast food...and here is why; 1.) Burger is cooked, then fries and then bagged to go...in serial, 2.) 'Serial' means that the fries were not started until the burger was done. Once burger and fries were done, both sat until someone was available to put them in a bag with ketchup. They all could be out much faster if processes could be done in parallel, 3.) Nothing was done quickly or with any rush. Blake's is a throw back to a different time. A 1960's style chain of burger shops, with no drive through and a creepy clown logo. In fact if you live n Denver, you'll find it similar to Griff's. The burgers are odd. They f airily tasty, but not juicy. They taste like a commercial production burger, but slightly better. Its probably a 3 star joint, but the retro feel and the classic diner style stainless steel interior attracts me. read more

Only thing at Blake's worth eating is the breakfast burrito which, when they get it right (rarely) it's very good. We did this yesterday and today and even though the auto order took my order correctly the employees got it wrong both days. Today they forgot our red sauce on the side. I had to drive back and when I got there they said they were out (doubtful). But par for the course for Blake's service, especially this one in Bloomfield. So only reason I gave it two stars is because they finally updated their phone system to handle the volume of calls they get and the breakfast burritos. read more

We called ahead. We made a large order so we understood there would be a wait. They advised us it would be 20 minutes so we have them 20 mins, and gave the lady our name and waited. We saw our bags with our names on them on the counter, no one would acknowledge us or listen to us as our food sat for an hour getting cold. Finally after 1 hour no one acknowledging us and no one taking payment we left. We went down the road to Burger King and had our very large order to us in 10 mins. Got the nm style green Chile burger, was pretty pricey everything that came in the burger was extra I got one double nm style burger and one single nm style burger and it was $26. The older cashier lady was kind of rude. But only to me which was really awkward. Anyways the seasoned fries were good and the burger was alright, the meat had no flavor or seasoning and it was falling apart! The only thing that saved the burger that it was hot off the grill and the green Chile but other than that it was mediocre. I wouldn't come back or recommend this place. Like other reviewers have stated this place is slooow. Reason being is that call-in orders take precedence. We watched after labeled bag after labeled bag of call-in orders was being made before ours, as we were trying to make it back to ABQ before it got too dark and this was right on the turn (with a handy gas station nearby). We got two Itsa burgers with cheese and bacon, a Lota with cheese and bacon, and medium fries (which came out to about $19 with all the add-ons). The floors were a little dirty/sticky and the seating options could be in use of an upgrade inside at least (instead of stools), but the restrooms were relatively clean (which is a good sign). Took about 20 minutes for our order total and they forgot the bacon on my dad's Lota, but the reason being for the 4 stars is the food alone. Blake's consistently delivers great food - whether it be breakfast burritos (a family favorite) or an outstanding green chile double cheese burger - Blake's NEVER lets us down. The food is great - the ingredients are fresh and cooked fresh....I imagine that their burgers are how burgers used to taste in the 60's rather the super processed modern "fast" food equivalents. Speed is the only issue - but that's really not a big deal when you get yourself in the mindset that Blake's is NOT a traditional "fast food" burger...but rather almost as a 60's diner that runs at near fast food speeds. read more

Okay I am completely surprised this place has such a high review. I have lived in the area my whole life. I've tried Blakes in Aztec Farmington and of course, Bloomfield. The one in Bloomfield is by far the WORST Blakes I have EVER been to. I only continue to order there because I love the food (when my order is actually right) and I live in Bloomfield so it's the closest option. Last time I ordered I got 2 breakfast burritos and went and picked them up. I was in a hurry so I didn't check the bag before I left. I got home and had two burgers and fries. I called back to let them know that I got someone else's order and I was told that they can't remake my order because breakfast was no longer being sold. It was 3 minutes past the start of lunch. Breakfast had been over for THREE minutes. I learned to check my bag from now on. Besides that I always get a cranky person on the phone. This morning I ordered from them again. I needed my total so that I made sure to have the right amount of money on me when I get there. I asked the lady "What's the total on that?" And she responded with "I'll have your total for you when you get here." So I explained that I needed it over the phone so I can get the money for the order before I show up. You'd think it wasn't asking much.. she got upset and told me to hold on. Not "Please hold" or anything, just straight "Hold on" After that she sets the phone down on the counter because they don't have a hold button or something and she proceeds to mock me and talk badly about me to a nearby employee. I heard it clear as day. All because I asked for a total on my order. When I show up to get my food I notice quite a few other problems just as I waited in line. One gentleman didn't hear his order number called because the girl that called it out said it so quiet I couldn't hear it 2 foot away from her. Then she loudly with attitude said his number and he heard this time. She honest to God handed his food to him and when he turned around to leave she rolled her eyes and walked back to the make line. I have NEVER seen an employee smile in that store. I'm never greeted. I'm asked "Name?" As I walk to the counter. Not "Hi! How are you?" Or "Hi, would you like to place an order?" I've worked in the food industry. I've worked at a place JUST AS BUSY (Dominos) and I worked there for 2 full years and not ONCE did I ever get snippy with a customer. I greeted every person with a smile and I didn't give people attitudes. Even people who asked me to tell them every topping we have. I would be annoyed but it's my job to help people place an order and make sure they have a good experience. So I did my job like an adult. I was in high school. If A high schooler can smile through the difficult customers then so can grown adult employees. That entire store needs a revamp. They either need to find a way to motivate those employees to be better and to be happy at their job. Or they need a new line of workers. If you hate your job so much then don't work there. There is no sense in working somewhere and making every person around you including customers, have a horrible experience. I'm so insulted. Even the manager had an angry face the entire time I was in there. That's not a good look. I called to get the district managers number and conveniently the phone line was disconnected twice. So I called a different location and got it there. The point of this is... I shouldn't have to drive 30 minutes away to a different location just because I always have a bad experience at the one in the town I live. I know they work hard. I know they have a high order velocity. I know they are crazy busy. But there are some things that people just aren't cut out for. I posted a review similar to this on my Facebook profile and had MANY people comment explaining how much they loath this location all because the workers are so negative.
