Went to order my burritos this morning on the phone order. The location is closed. It's a good thing that I didn't complete my order online because then I would have lost almost 20 bucks Now they have 4 breakfast burritos and no one there to pick them up. Sign on door said open at 6am.

Shout out Isaac and his crew for taking care of us!

Lotaburger, why you gotaburger keep making Lotaburgers a lotasmallerburger? That's the language of Lotaburger in case you didn't know and it roughly translates to: The first El Paso Lotaburger is rather small, why in the world would they make the second just as small? But the design is very fast-food modern and is spacious enough for the long lines this business attracts. Anywho, on to the review. Oh, but before I start...I just want to take the time to say that it did not take me five minutes to get to Blake's from across the street...it was maybe two and I didn't frantically try to cross...it was more casual and then eventually I just got tired of being a polite driver and even though I just wanted to go straight across (yes, sometimes laziness extends to my driving) I hauled ass to the light and made a U-turn in my boat. To the review! Still in it's first month open and you know what they say about us El Pasoans and shiny, new things. The line wasn't too terribly long, but then again it wasn't really lunch-time per se so taking that into account it was pretty long for the hour. I'll put it this way, Adam G. could've ordered in the "five minutes" it took for me to get across Edgemere. And that statement/observation is a mixture of the validity to my previous driving statement and how truly fast these employees work. Well that and the fact that they have a ridiculous amount of people working. The #1. It's what you do. And I didn't really listen to what the cashier was saying when she rattled off all the options so I just said, "All of the above." She didn't really understand what that meant so I said it again as though it would make things clearer...I assume I got all of the above. You always do seasoned fries. Always! I never noticed the whole ice setup at the other one (and I haven't confirmed that it's actually done that way at the other one), but I don't like it. I don't like it at all. What if I didn't want ice? What if I wanted to know exactly how many cubes were being put in my cup? What if I wanted easy ice? What if I wanted ice to the brim? What if I'm getting a refill and I need more ice? Can I have more ice or do I have to pay for a new cup? All of this is so confusing...I kid, I kid. I didn't get a refill on ice, but I assume I could just ask them for it and they would oblige. But people were dropping those cups left and right. My booted foot may have even been hit with a mop while I was ordering because of all the ice on the floor. Of course all of the seats were taken and since it had been raining on and off for about a week I wasn't about to risk sitting outside and becoming drenched in the matter of seconds, but we were lucky enough to be able to snag two bar stools adjacent to the kitchen, behind the soda machine. Even though this is a small building, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the crowd...although I was tempted to redirect a small wandering child that was hoovering around me. After our food arrived I bit into a spicy, cheesy, bacon-y burger and I enjoyed it for the most part. I love a juicy, greasy burger, but these were a little heavy on the grease...like to the point where it was all a genuine hot mess and made it impossible to stay clean while eating. This would be perfect after a night out! The seasoned fries are really all I need in life though and even though I had literally just ate a butt load of fries before getting here, I had to finish these fries! They're just that damn good! If you haven't read my review for the other EP Blake's just know I'm in love with the staff there so hard (and no, I don't know any of them personally)...specifically Jose who was the most charming and friendly staff member I've ever seen in a chain. They need Jose at this one. Don't get me wrong, everyone was nice, but no one was really standout, spectacular. There was one guy (I'm pretty sure this is his very first job) that was supposed to be taking tables their food, but was calling numbers out a little above a whisper and kind of blamed us for the fact that we didn't get out food immediately (we never even complained about a wait so that was kinda out of the left field)...I just want to know, if I'm supposed to be listening for a whispering kid softly speaking numbers, why the hell do they give us those stands with numbers? Another employee came by to make sure everything was right and let me know about a weekly giveaway Blake's does on Facebook (basically just post a picture of a Blake's burger and cross your fingers). And we Texans are going to continue to compare Blake's to Whataburger and really I'm gonna put them on the same level, but Blake's still doesn't do one thing I love that Whataburger does. No not Spicy Ketchup, but I suppose Blake's doesn't do that either. 24 hours! Can we get a 24 hour Blake's? You know we're good for it. We promise to come by at 3 am to order a #1 all the time!

We are not sure what happened, but the place changed. The old staff (who were relaxed and fun to be around) are all gone, the delicious food we kept returning to have is also gone, replaced by a menu that doesn't know what exactly this restaurant wants to be (tacos, fried chicken, attempt at French menu items, etc). They have 6 different kinds of French toast. We tasted 2 of them, and they have the same taste. Just different toppings. The price for the French toast with eggs, bacon and home fries was $17. Now they charge $18 just for 2 slices of brioche with some sauce that resembles the old Banana Foster sauce, and an additional $6 for the eggs, bacon and home fries. Disappointing, and more expensive than it's worth. Walking into a restaurant to be held hostage by some speech about a small store selling books inside the restaurant?! Yeah, don't do that. If we hadn't already ordered, we would have left. No refill on water, no inquiry about any other drinks. I wasn't even finished with my meal and the server slapped the check on the table and walked away. If that doesn't make you feel "welcome to leave", I don't know what does. Looking around, I find it unacceptable to bring food to the table 5 minutes apart for every person at the table. The staff now wears embroidered shirts with the restaurant logo (except for one, she was just chewing her gum while taking orders- also, ew), and the atmosphere has changed from casual to "we wanna be high end, we made some money so now we want you to pay more". Disappointing.

Extremely Disappointing -- Third and Final Chance!!…read more We went to The Grove for brunch today, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience we've had there yet. It wasn't even particularly busy, so we decided to sit at the bar. There were at least three employees working/walking through the bar area, and not one person greeted us, acknowledged us, or asked if we had been helped. Even the manager walked right past us without saying a word. We sat there for several minutes and couldn't even get someone to take a drink order, not a coffee, not a water, nothing. Eventually, after being completely ignored, we got up and left. What makes this even more disappointing is that this was my third time giving The Grove a chance. At this point, I can't chalk it up to someone having an off day. When the same type of poor service happens repeatedly and management is present and also fails to acknowledge customers, it speaks to a larger customer-service issue. I really wanted to like this place, which is why I kept giving it another chance, but today was the final one. We literally walked in ready to spend money on brunch and couldn't even get a glass of water ordered. Very unfortunate and incredibly disappointing. I will not be returning and would not recommend wasting your time or money here especially if customer service is important to you!

And they just recently added a Mexican skillet that was excellent. EXCEPT for the fact that the cooks at this restaurant do NOT know how to make an over medium egg. The skillets are all topped by eggs, and you can get them any way you want them cooked. I don't like over hard eggs, I like a soft yoke. But I also do not like a runny yoke, which immediately drips all over rest of the meal as soon as I hit it with a fork. Every time I come here and order a skillet, I order the eggs over medium, and every single time I come here, I get over easy eggs that run all over the rest of the meal. I do NOT understand why someone who is working in a restaurant as a cook does not know how to make an over medium egg. I CAN MAKE AN OVER MEDIUM EGG AT HOME, and I've NEVER worked as a cook in my life. Just unbelievable. Other than that, all the food at Village Inn is pretty good, and reasonably priced.
