My family and I came in on a Friday evening around 6 PM. The restaurant has a large space with plenty of seating available for small and large parties. Despite it being a Friday night my party of 5 found seating right away. I can't say the restaurant was the cleanest, the floors and tables looked and felt very dirty. The young woman who took our order was kind, courteous and very patient (especially with my young nieces). I ordered a regular cheeseburger with an addition of bacon and a side of fries. The burger was okay, nothing amazing. I do appreciate melted cheese though and the cooking of the bacon--not too chewy and not too crispy. Fries were okay as well with a dash of salt added. Just "okay" is my opinion--if you want a basic burger at a decent price, this restaurant could fulfill your fix. read more

This place is the bomb. When I was younger this place was a 7 eleven gas station and I use to get Slurpee's from here during the summer. The service was very friendly and helpful. When we ordered, the food came out extremely quick and fresh. The food was so delicious!! I ordered the Andre burger and my goodness it's so good. The green chili sauce goes perfect with this burger. You can tell this place is where locals go. The prices were not expensive and very good portions for the price. I've been working at Papa Eric's Burgers as a busser since March of this year and for a while, everything was good and I am grateful that the owner Eric Zubia gave me a job when no one else wouldn't. However, yesterday Eric got angry at me for accepting tips from customers. Whenever I help out a customer, for example, taking their drink orders, giving out refills, cleaning off their table, or taking their food back to the kitchen if something is wrong with it, they would personally give me a tip, and here's how this it works, if a customer gives an employee a tip then it belongs to the employee. If the tips were on the table, then it goes into the tip jar at the front of the restaurant. I honestly, don't know why Eric had a problem with me keeping tips that were given to me by the customers from their own pockets. One; even though I'm a busser, I'm basically doing the same thing as the servers (i.e. providing service to the customers.). Second; It's their money, they can do whatever they want with it. If they feel I'm doing a good job and I took good care of them while they were dining, sometimes they'll want to give me a little reward for my work. I repeat, "It's their money, their choice.". Now Eric could argue that he's trying to help out the all-female serving staff by allowing only them to keep the tips because he "cares about women being in the workplace and wants to treat them fairly." if that's true, I say that is hogwash. If Eric actually cares about women in the workplace, he would pay them properly instead of relying on customers to pay them via tips. He's not doing anything revolutionary by hiring women to work at his restaurant, he's just doing the exact same thing as every other restaurant has been doing for years. Now, this isn't to say I'm a saint, and I've done nothing wrong, it's true I have my share of flaws. One of them is showing frustration while working towards either customers or co-workers, who don't deserve it, showing up to work on days that I'm off, and working overtime unauthorized. Also not texting Eric to find out about my schedule. If those were the only reason why Eric wants to fire me, then that'll be understandable, but to fire me for accepting tips from customers who think I deserve it just doesn't make sense to me. read more

The cheeseburgers here are the best in town! Meat is always cooked perfectly and the green sauce is what makes the burger. Here's a tip: squirt a ton I ketchup on ur wax paper basket and then squirt twice as much green sauce and u have the perfect French Fry dipping sauce. The green sauce is that good!!!! This time around Stephen was our waiter and he made our dining experience perfect. First of all, I'm trying to teach my two sons (13&18) about not using straws to save the turtles. And we I tell them to tell the waiter not to give us lids as well. AND to tell the waiter not to give us a fork and a knife. (Not sure why Papaerics hands out forks and knifes for a burger basket. Can't figure that out). Anyway. Stephen totally gave me props. He basically congratulated me and gave me props for being eco friendly. I liked that. My boys thought it was funny. His service was very attentive and professional. Our drinks never went dry and he came around just the right amount of times. (I hate servers that keep coming over to ask if "everything's ok?" He was tactful and dead on. As always the burgers here are the best. I just noticed they gave a chili bowl. Coming back for that next. This place is bomb. I don't live in El Paso anymore, but when I come to visit I make sure to eat here! Their green chile burger (Chiara) is pretty good! We also split the papa dog and that was good! Best Burgers in town hands down. While enjoying the huge burgers and amazing green salsa, my kids have a great time playing classic arcade games. The environment is friendly and my family look forward to coming back every time! Apparently this place is standing room only during lunch, so we waited til 1 to eat. It receives a lot of high schoolers for lunch. The burger basket was tasty. The meat patty was thin and not cooked as I would've preferred, it was a bit rare. Aside from the rare meat the burger was good with plenty of toppings. I had the cheeseburger with fries. Their fries are hand cut and very good. The menu is limited, but it seemed to have plenty of variety. This is a burger/sandwich joint..nothing more. This is my second time here, the food is good, good for a local mom and pop place. My disappointment comes from me being a business owner too and seeing how they responded to their machines taking my kids money. They have some video game machines turned on but none of them work, one takes 4 quarters, Another 1, another 2, etc - they all took their quarters but none worked. When we asked for a refund from their machines they just "Sorry, but too bad" we don't refund it... for a small business that's being surrounded by big chains the customer service is their most important value, and that has been lost apparently. Why have these machines if they're there to just take people's money?
