Tasty burgers, particularly the New Mexico style cheeseburger with green chiles. They're not pre-made so that s a plus.

Peach shake, good, burger, not so much. Fries, decent. Service, terrible. Restaurant, bland and boring. A friend told me i had to try lotaburger, after a disappointing first experience at whataburger. Said Blake's was so much better. Nope, just as bad. All these people who build up these bland, greasy, no flavor, frozen patty burger places have a very different palette than i do. Seriously, there is little to eat in silver city, but i would go to the subway in walmart before eating at Blake's. Edible, that is about it. read more

Was pretty bummed and surprised to not have a toasted bun on my Itsaburger. Toasted bun not only adds to the sensory and palate it also protects the bun and doesn't compromise the structure and integrity of the burger. Did you know when you put all the toppings, mustard, any other condiments like Chile, including the heat and steam from a warm/hot patty directly on an untoasted bun that the bun acts like a sponge and absorbs all of that making the bun soggy, fall apart, and not taste so good??? I thought that was just common sense. Having a slightly toasted bun helps maintain the structure of the burger, and is an absolute joy to bite into. Besides it's consistent with the Lotaburger chain so to have anything different was disappointing. I arrived around 5:20pm there was only myself and one other customer. By the time my order was done and my number was called, there was about 6 other customers. I went to the counter to pick up my order and asked for ketchup, and the gal that helped me seemed like my request was a bother, she seemed bugged to actually be working. I was a bit disappointed in that. Quality of food preparation and better customer service could be improved. read more

We have now taken Blake's Lotaburger off our list of places to eat in this town. Sunday before noon only one other person in the restaurant. Every table was dirty. They were only taking credit cards. The computer menu board was broken. They were out of 1/2 the soda options. We usually get the Blake's chicken sandwich and it has changed to a couple of gross nuggets with a pickle slapped on there. The food was ridiculously over cooked and was just horrible. Sadly we will not be back. read more

Stopped here for lunch after 4 days of backpacking. Craved that Hatch green Chile cheeseburger and was not disappointed. Flavor was great, hot off the grill. Tried a cherry shake - nice and creamy! Blakesss!!! Every time we come here to New Mexico we always stop at this spot!!! There's something special and unique about these burgers and its definitely the Green hatch Chile!! The burgers are always cooked perfectly and our seasoned fries well seasoned!! Overall with our drinks, burger and fries we paid a total of $16.00 which is pretty common for a isn't burger! Customer service is always friendly and lots of locals that love to wave (just wave back). The restaurant has always been clean and we've never had to wait very long for our food! If you are ever in town or come across this Blake's, give it try and let me know how u like It!! read more

I rolled into Silver City at dusk, having come in from the West on US180 after a long day in the saddle. I had two things on my mind... find a place to stay, and find something to eat. I took care of the first item quickly enough, and had a room down the road. It then became a top priority to find something to eat. For my first time at a Blake's Lota Burger, this experience was a disappointment. Walking in at 7:00PM to a place that does not close for another two hours, you would not expect to find most of the restaurant closed off with signs because they had already been cleaned and the staff did not want patrons to go into them. An hour, half an hour before closing? Sure... but not two hours. And then there was the attitude. The staff simply did not want to be there, and it showed. The waves of sullenness emanating outwards from behind the counter were somewhat overwhelming. I ordered my food, keeping it simple (a burger and fries with a soft drink) so as not to really annoy the sulking crew serving me, and then sat at one of the booths (there were no tables with proper chairs available... just the booths...) to eat. The food was fine, but really wasn't anything special, which I had sort of hoped for. Frankly, because of this experience, I will have second and third thoughts before entering another Blake's Lota Burger in the future. read more

It's okay, but nothing special. Fries are okay. But the fresh peach milkshake was very good. Unfortunately, when I went back today I was told they no longer had them so I got strawberry. It wasn't fresh strawberry and was just mediocre. But if I had to chose between McDonalds and Sonic, which I did, I would go with Blake's. read more

Unfortunately I have to leave 1 star for this location. We have been to this location twice within 2 months and we were disappointed. The quality of the burger and fries was nothing to brag about. It was good but not the greatest. This location is not clean, both times that we visited most of the tables were filthy. We were lucky to find one that appeared to be clean. Service was horrible on the most recent visit. Cashier was not friendly and did not seem happy to be working that evening. They had a sign posted that only cards and exact cash were accepted. They were unable to provide change. The other employees in the kitchen were just hanging out, playing on their phones, and sitting on the counter. The worst part was witnessing the most unsanitary behavior from the cashier. As she was taking other customers' orders she was rubbing her nose with her fingers, putting her fingers in her nostrils, and wiping her hand across her nose. Oh and putting her fingers in her ear. Then she was scooping ice into cups without using an ice scoop. This means her bare hands were touching the ice! Ewww, I was so disgusted. read more

Wow, First time back here in seven years and cannot believe how small the Blake's Lotta Burger is now. I used to love Blakes all throughout the 80s and 90s and would get one after work from the Coppermine several times a week but now that I just came back to this area the Lotaburger has shrunk down to the size of a kiddy burger or Its a burger. I understand inflation is a problem for businesses but please just charge me more and give me my full size Lotaburger instead of reducing the size of everything down to a kiddy burger or it's a burger. I don't even know where to begin. So the prices are pretty high, but it's a NM staple so you feel obligated to eat here when visiting NM. We came in around 5:00 pm and the cashier lady was very polite, sweet and patient. She went over lots of menu items and that's something we really appreciated. We sat down with our meal when all of a sudden the manager gets a really nasty attitude at a gentleman that walked up to the counter. "We are closed that's why the door was locked sir. I don't have enough staff." He didn't say anything so she exhales, "but I guess it's okay for you to order." She storms off. Because the door says they close at 7:00 pm a lot and I mean a lot of people tried coming in. One guest was super persistent and stood there for a good 10 min pointing at the door, gesturing to the staff to unlock it. It was very difficult to enjoy our meal because of this. Eventually she had to go outside and tell the guy they were closing early. I thought that maybe they should have put up a sign as a courtesy instead of ignoring people and allowing them to slam the door. It's hard to rate this visit because I'm sure that's not something that happens ordinarily. For now I give two stars. read more

Great food, but the kids/staff need to upkeep the place. Around the drinking fountain there were spills and when given our cups, they were 3/4 full of ice. Also, when given my food, I took a quick peek and the staff member said everything I ordered was in there and named the items, so basically felt like she was trying to tell me "no need to look." We returned to Silver City for the Forth of July Holiday and stopped at Blake's on the way into town. There were at least six employees behind the counter, most of whom were doing nothing. We ordered two Lota Burgers and a small hamburger for our spoiled dog. There was only one other patron waiting when I went in. Some 20 minutes later our order was finally finished. No other patron came in while I was waiting, watching the staff chatting. The boss thought that I had run into old friends I was gone so long. All the burgers were well done to the point of cremation, poorly dressed and believe it or not, our dog would not touch the meat. We lived here some ago and enjoyed Lota Burger's - no more. Lota Burger appears to have gone down hill while they expand. Gallup is poor; Tucson is poor; Las Cruces is Fair +. We will not waste our time nor money on this chain in the future. read more

When you call in you no longer can speak to an actual person. You talk to a computer and it takes twice as long to get your order in because it stops and repeats everything. If you don't speak clearly it will get the order wrong. It added things to my order that I didn't want. The food was bland, patties were dry and over cooked. The fries were cold as well. read more

The green chillies are actually hot! Didn't know that when ordering, but then I took a few bites and realized I wasn't in Tucson anymore. I ordered the LOTA burger and it would have been a decent burger, had I not ordered it with chillies. If you love spicy, then this burger is for you. I have stopped here several times, but haven't actually eaten in the restaurant (I always order to go). The food has always been delicious, and I love that you can actually see it being made. However, most of the times I have gone, the employees have been unprofessional. There is a time and place in which to talk about certain things and use profanity; a place of business, where customers can hear, is not one of them. It's especially irritating when I have my child with me! Also, giving customers dirty looks, before and after they have ordered and paid, is not acceptable behavior (this isn't just a personal experience, as I have seen it done to others, as well). Aside from employee behavior, and a sometimes untidy appearance, this is a good place to eat. read more
