One of the better Mexican restaurants in Silver City. My family has lived their most of their lives in the area and we make our stop at Mas Casita whenever I go and visit. The chips and salsa are tasty with kick, the service is fantastic and the food is what you expect from a home made Mexican restaurant. My favorite is the Christmas enchildas with cheese and chile rellenos but not matter what you order your going to be a happy eater. If your visiting Silver City dont miss Mi Casita! read more

this is a locals restaurant that is very busy. When you try the food you understand why, everything is hot and flavorful. My husband had combination plate that was huge with taco,chli relleno, tamales and enchiladas,rice and beans. I had stuffed sopapilla with beans and beef, Spanish rice on the side. This is THE place to eat lunch in Silver City. You might have to drive around for 20 minutes to find a parking spot because it's always packed, but don't go somewhere else, they're worth the wait! You walk in and it's clean, smells like home and are met with kind waitstaff, and if you call out for mom, someone responds with a smile. Everything is homemade. Everything is delicious. I used to go here somewhat regularly and always had good food and it seemed to be priced reasonably. Then I didn't go for a while and finally went back recently. The food had gone WAY down in quality. For example the cheese in the enchilada was still cold and not at all melted. Also the portions were comically small. We thought there had been a mistake the portions of certain items were so much smaller than the last time we went. We won't be back. In a town with limited options: this place was a pleasant surprise. We were in town for a graduation and wanted to eat to celebrate before hitting the road. It appears to be your run of the mill New Mexican spot and we had to clarify what "meat" meant on the menu but the flavors that came out were pretty good! The chips tasted fresh, salsa had a tiny kick to it (the tiniest foodie devoured our basket and salsa). Customer service was great. The food for a party of 15 came out suspiciously fast after we placed our order which makes me think that everything was pre-made and just reheated for us but it was tasty nonetheless and we all left full and ready to road trip home. Probably the most generic fast food Mexican that you can find. Had the green chili number 1 combo and was massively let down. Chili on the plate was bland and tasted like the cream of chicken out of a can, reano was burnt from being deep fried wrong making half of it not able to be eaten, the ground beef taco I took one bite out of before stopping due to a strong off putting flavor akin to spoiled vegis or lettuce that's been left out for a very long time, tamale was also forgettable and took a mountain of salt to have any flavor. Waitress was very kind thou and I would give her a 4/5 by her self but the food was not worth feeding to my dog much less eating it. Mi Casita is far and away the best Mexican restaurant in Silver City, and one of the best restaurants there period. The green Chile is the best I've tasted in town. It is fresh tasting, not muddy, and does not have that canned mushroom soup taste that some green Chile sauces sometimes have. The place is super organized also. When you walk in you just pick your table, sit right down, pour yourself some ice water, and start munching on chips and salsa positioned on every table. The servers are incredibly sweet and efficient, and the food comes out quickly. It's the perfect lunch spot for working people who need to fill their bellies with delicious food but don't have all day. Another plus is that the imported beers are the same low price as the domestic beers. I've yet to try it for dinner, but hope to soon one Friday night. My Mi Casita comfort food of choice is the stacked chicken Enchilada plate with green Chile, egg, and onion. The world looks brighter after downing this delicious meal. read more

Better get here before noon if you don't want a long wait. I've been here when 12-15 people were waiting for a table. Salsa good though chips just OK. Chile rellenos are delicious. Served New Mexico style, without a sauce, they're smothered with cheese. I've enjoyed the New Mexican style enchiladas in the past, but this time opted for a red meat chimichanga. Outstanding! I love their food. It is so delicious. If you're not from NM, it may be too spicy for you, but they will work with you and allow you to taste test the sauces prior to ordering.
