They're not caterpillar crazy and she never looks as though she'll take flight if she blinks to hard. I told her I would love to try out a lash application but have not been pumped to do so because of past experiences. The first time I had lashes was for my wedding in 2010. The aesthetician that did it was also my MUA and she was great. I just was not ready for lashes at that time. I was able to wear them the entire night but before going to bed I found myself pulling them off with fingertips covered in baby oil. The second time I had them done was at one of my regular eyebrow threading salons but I did not feel too comfortable getting them redone after hearing a customer complain about getting an infection. They weren't the cleanest of places and these are my eyes so it has got to be done correctly. My girlfriend has had a long relationship with her esti, having been devestated when she moved out of NY. She recently returned to continue seeing her local clients which was perfect for me. She made an appointment for me with Tiffany, of @tiffanysbeautyroom, and she occasionally works out of the Silhouette Beauty Lounge. My appointment was for 1130A this past Saturday. I was running a few minutes late and called to inform them. The front desk person was very nice and said that she would let Tiffany know. The salon is located right around the corner from Tosca (p.s. They may be opening back up, ya'll!). Pro tip: don't park in the main Ave. You're best bet is to park a block down at the residential area so you don't have to pay for the meter. When I entered the medspa, I was immediately greeted by their front desk person. She was very nice and she asked me to remove my shoes and put on some slippers they keep up front. No outside shoes are worn in the back which I appreciate. All of the rooms have curtains and there is a nice level of privacy. I felt very comfortable upon entering the room in which I would be serviced. Tiffany was there, waiting for me. Everything looked very clean. I told her that I was a novice at lashes and wanted something very natural looking. I specified that I would like my lashes to look as though I applied 2-3 coats of mascara, natural but noticeable. She suggested the "classic" look and I agreed. She explained the entire process and I will admit that I'm the beginning, I was extremely nervous. My eyelid was twitching because I was a little anxious but soon after I was able to relax and the process went smoothly. She said that it is normal, especially for someone who's a first-timer. When she moved onto the second eye, it was way easier because I had an idea of what would happen so I was able to relax much quicker. It took about 1:45 to finish the entire process. It didn't feel that long and did not mind it as you can tell from the final result that she was very precise with the application, making sure she maintained symmetry. Afterwards, she gave me a card with lash instructions and answered all the questions I had about upkeep and daily maintenance to extend the life of the lashes. She also said that refills can be anywhere form 2-3 weeks, depending upon maintenance, and that a refill is significantly less time for installation. I love how they look and feel. I can't even tell anything is on my eyelids. They look like exactly what I asked for, natural but noticeable. After three days, I have not had any issues with them. I am able to wear makeup and perform my skincare regimen also. There are certain products types I have to stay away from but that it not am issue and Tiffany told me exactly which to not use and provided suggestions of products I would want to use instead. I was told not to wear makeup. I did not wear any on my eyes but I did have my skincare products on and some light foundation. It was not a problem but I would suggest just wearing your skincare products, as you can not get the lashes wet in the first 24 hours post installation. It's just easier to not have to worry about removing makeup I'm any capacity. I'm thinking I might get hooked because I'm already wanting to ask for some darker lashes and maybe get the "hybrid" set next time which would incorporate some fan lashes as well for a fuller look. We'll see because I'm certainly feeling myself...

Once I was brought into the operating room and placed on the table, I trusted that I was in safe and professional hands. Dr. Johnson began by numbing my stomach, then abruptly left the room, leaving me alone in a vulnerable and uncertain state. When he finally returned and started the procedure, what followed was not only shocking but deeply disturbing. As he worked, he made repeated, inappropriate, and degrading comments about my body. He remarked that my stomach and skin were "so hard," and insinuated that my body was "too much" for him to handle. His tone was not clinical, it was mocking, careless, and humiliating. When I expressed that I was in pain and asked, "What do you want me to do?", instead of offering reassurance or care, he coldly responded, "Are you going to make that sound the whole time?" The procedure itself felt rushed and negligent. He spent no more than 15 minutes performing liposuction on my back, front, and sides an amount of time that is alarmingly insufficient for a procedure that requires precision, care, and attention. It was clear that he was not focused on my safety or results. In fact, he openly complained that he needed to be somewhere else, as if I were an inconvenience rather than a patient under his care. To make matters worse, he had charged me an additional $1,500 specifically to perform liposuction on my back yet that area was not properly treated. Despite taking my money, he failed to deliver the service promised. The most appalling moment came when he stated, without hesitation, "I hate fat bitches." In that instant, any sense of professionalism vanished entirely. I was left feeling degraded, disrespected, and violated not just physically, but emotionally. This experience was not only unprofessional and traumatic. What should have been a medical procedure carried out with care and dignity became an ordeal marked by cruelty, neglect, and blatant disrespect. Throughout the surgery, while I was vulnerable, Dr. Johnson repeatedly talked and complained loudly instead of focusing on me as his patient. He raised his voice at a nurse, saying that he was the doctor and that she had to do what he said. He was mumbling and cursing during the procedure and even answered his phone while actively operating on me. At one point he stated, 'I feel like killing somebody,' which is extremely disturbing for a surgeon to say while a patient is on the table. This behavior made me feel unsafe, disrespected, and dehumanized while in his care. I do not believe Dr. Johnson should be allowed to operate on any patients until his behavior and fitness to practice have been thoroughly reviewed. I am requesting that this matter be investigated by the appropriate board and that his license and conduct be reviewed.

Arrived mid-morning without an appointment. This was risky as other patrons were already there, though luckily space was still available. My massage area, not a separate room, had enough privacy where I felt comfortable. During my session, realization kicked in noting that bells and whistles were not needed nor were they missed. My masseuse, Amy did the necessary and got to work getting those kinks out of my back. The full body massage that followed from head to toe, with a bit of stretching was an added bonus.
