I came here for the headspa experience and was unfortunately very underwhelmed. The whole experience was sloppy, unimpressive and lackluster. It's a very small and awkward shared space in the back. The description on the website for the 6th Sense Awakening headspa treatment made it sound so much better than it actually was. Their technique was honestly just careless. She scooped water directly in my eyes (despite acknowledging i was wearing eye makeup) which was senseless, annoying, and uncomfortable. She made no effort to keep the soap out of my ears which was super unpleasant. The materials they used seemed like cheap, disposable ones. Honestly, if she spent more time on the massage part then it would've been more worth it, but she hardly spent even 5 minutes on the massage. It's truthfully just a very awkward and unnecessary amount of time to have wet hair. Not to mention the blow dry at the end was absolutely horrible. If a blow dry is part of the experience then at least one person should be trained how to properly blow dry hair. I went in for a quick mani on Mardi Gras Friday. No one was available at any salon, but Blanc Beauty made the time. Nguyen patiently and sincerely did my manicure. She even went so far as to suggest that she apply an extra coat to make the color be more obvious. My nails lasted a full 7 days without cracking anywhere. If this is the result for a regular manicure, I can't wait to see what the gel will turn out like. Highly recommend Blanc Beauty and especially Nguyen! Let's start by saying I used to come here all the time! The last 2 times I came I had the worst service ever, very rude and nonchalant staff! Not once did they try and make conversation/ understand what I wanted done with my nails! Mid service the girl who was doing my nails decided to take a phone call about 5 mins later another lady came out with no knowledge of what I asked for to finish my nails! I then told the lady that the way my nails where coming out, I didn't like, I was told to stop talking and let her finish, when I was finished the lady who then checked me out asked, I expressed to her that I was not happy with my nails and was not happy with my last service, all my nails were differently formed, lots of shaving debris, and was half assed! she offered the fix it but the lady who was doing my nails was giving off so much attitude behind me, I felt too uncomfortable to even stay, I later returned to have them removed the nails after crying over them, and again I felt the aggression coming from all the staff and was very uncomfortable! When all done I asked for a partial refund because not only was I not happy with the service but was made very uncomfortable by the staff workers! Another case of the disappearing Yelp review since I know I've already reviewed this spot! I was desperate for a pedicure and my regular spot did not have availability so I called Blanc and they squeezed me in! The atmosphere is calming and swank. No massage chairs here, instead there are "leather" wing back chairs along with vessel sinks at your feet. My tech was very good but I definitely knew I was getting the last service of the day. I was pleased with my result and I was out the door on the dot of their closing time. Parking is tight since it's on a busy block of Magazine Street and I really miss the massage chairs. read more

I wouldn't recommend their nail services to anyone. I'm visiting from Honolulu and wanted to get a gel mani and pedi ahead of my upcoming engagement. While the nails are fine and will do the job, I've certainly had better manicures in little, touristy salons in Waikiki. I had called a few days ahead for a 10 am on Tuesday morning, for a gel manicure and gel pedicure. When i arrived on the day of, i reminded them of my requested services three additional times between entering and the first swipe of polish. Yet I found that my pedicure went quicker than expected when a glob of polish was applied to each toe and I was sent over the manicure bar. I obviously knew it wasn't the gel i requested but didn't feel like spending the extra time for a re-do so I just reminded her about gel for my nails (despite the choppy cutting and globs on my feet). The nails turned out fine and the ended with a "you're done" (the second phrase my manicurist uttered to me throughout the mani/pedi). I went to pay and the manicurist told the receptionist to charge for gel for both - which I had to point out and correct. Now I'm left with meh nails and smushed globs on my feet. read more

Walking into this modern beauty bar everything seems so relaxing and quiet. Not your typical salon that's noisy and technicians screaming across the salon. I walked in and was greeted by their friendly host. She sat me down in my pedicure chair and assisted on me right away. As I was sitting there she brought me over many pallets of colors to choose from. I found the perfect dip color for my nails and my toes I always stick to French. My technician came and he started on my pedicure right away. He was very friendly and he made sure every step of the way that I was happy with his service. A+++++. Even when he was painting my French pedicure Ryan made sure that it was up to my expectation. Once my pedicure was done, he assisted me over to the bar top manicure station. He started on my dip manicure, usually during this time I get very nervous because I never know what's the outcome of my nails. He was very detailed on my nails and made sure every finger looked perfect. I was in shock that Ryan did such a perfect job on my pedicure and my dip manicure. Usually I always have to tell the technician wherever I go to do a certain way up to my liking. But with Ryan I didn't have to say a thing besides that I wanted my nails square shape... I highly recommend this Salon to anyone that is visiting Nola because I'm a visitor as well and found this Gem. Now everytime I visit Nola I know exactly where to go to get my pedicure & manicure done! And after she finished she just walked away and left me with oil on my fingers. When I left I looked down and my nails looked AWFUL. The color is uneven I have bubbles from the gel on every nails and the corners of the nail are not painted at all. I would not recommend going here. This was literally the most underwhelming experience I have EVER had at a nail salon. Don't get me wrong, I understand paying extra $$ for a nice atmosphere and ambiance. That being said, I came in expecting a good (at least DECENT) service experience. Everyone was nice enough but my problems with the mani pedi were as follows: 1) during my manicure, my hands were not soaked and no cuticle remover was applied, which meant my cuticles were essentially RIPPED OFF. 2) during the pedicure, she didn't scrub my feet AT ALL & they didn't even have a foot file!! 3) my nails are not even, they are so off on lengths between all of them! 4) the worst of all: they have their colors tucked away and they let you choose then go get it. THEY PAINTED ME THE WRONG COLOR. This was INSANE! Moreover, they DONT EVEN HAVE A DRYING STATION FOR FEET. I cannot believe this. This is the most mediocre place I've ever been to for a mani pedi. Save your time and go to Jade's Salon on Prytania st or even Cindy's Nail Salon is better (and they are NOT GOOD EITHER!) at least both those places have massage chairs, take their time with their mani pedi services and are a FRACTION OF THE PRICE. Even with the student discount my total was $58, which usually wouldn't be a lot but I would have done a better job on my own at my house. Don't waste your time. First of all Fellas! Don't feel like you can't come here! They are very nice and you'll feel right at home. I've been going to Blanc since they first opened some months ago. I am new to New Orleans and relied on Yelp to find a salon where I could get a manicure. The people there were very war and welcoming as soon as I walked in. Pair that with the majority white styling of the place and it's immediately feels like somewhere you don't mind hanging out for a bit. Once you walk in the door you'll be offered a beverage of your choice as sign your name on the appointment book. They offer water, sparkling water, red and white wine, and champagne. I always go for the Mindful Manicure. It's a nice mani that includes just enough so that when you walk out you feel like your hands have been made anew. The products they use are very good. They don't have a very strong scent that follows you all day. Everyone there does a great job so you can feel comfortable with anyone. I recommend calling ahead to make an appointment. They can get busy in the late afternoons and on Saturdays. You can walk in of course but calling in ensures that you don't have to sit around and wait for long. read more

I wasn't offered a drink or anything when I got there, I'm not sure if that is standard or not. The polishes here are vegan and supposedly better than standard polishes. I got a mini manicure which was just polish, no massage or anything. For that, my gel manicure was $30 which I thought was a great price. Unfortunately, my manicure started chipping after a little more than a week. It might be the sort of polish they used. But I was also using my hands more than usual, so maybe it was just me. They have recommended nail colors for me which are my new go-tos. This is the place I chose to get my wedding nails done and they looked perfect. I told her how I wanted her to shape my nails and not once did I have to ask her to fix the shape. Every single nail was even in length and perfectly shaped. That is super important to me. The place is recently refurbished, with a beautiful decoration and comfortable chairs (not that ugly and big massage chairs). I booked an appointment by phone and they were really nice on the phone (it seems funny, but some places I tried before were not nice even on the phone). We arrived on the following day and we were very welcomed and also on time. Before accommodated us to do the nails they also offered water, Mimosa, which was really nice. Then the tecnicians came. They were lovely and did the nails very well. They removed the excess of the skin around the nails, did a good polish (removing the excess of polishing with a brush what guarantee a good finishing) and they have a lot of colors available. This is the place I've been looking for!!! The atmosphere is very spa like. Clean colors, soothing sounds, and it looks nothing like your typical nail salon. The nail paints aren't on full display. There's no awkward pedicure chairs. The manicurist aren't chatting with each other and making you feel like they're talking about you. And there is plenty to explore outside of the salon. I wouldn't typically give 5 stars until I've had a chance to see how my nails hold up but I'm confident I'll be back again. Second time here! I followed my nail tech., Quyen, from another place, she's amazing- precise, thorough, and gentle! I love the modern, open atmosphere here. It looks industrial glam chic. The music is more hip/current. They don't have massaging chairs, but that's ok, half the time those chairs are so old they don't even work well, so I don't use it anymore lol. The chairs they do have are still comfortable to me, and I need cushion! The manicure stations look like a bar, hence the name of the place. Cute. The staff are super friendly!!! Love that I was remembered from many months ago? And even over the phone! I see how they greet everyone too, love it! They offer drinks, water & wine (not sure what else).
