I needed a quick pedicure at a local nail salon and came across this location. The salon is fairly small but clean. I got the regular pedicure and it was rough. My cuticles were cut on both big toes and the tech was very rough with both cuts. She used the towel to clean the wound instead of a napkin which is a huge sanitary issue for me. The polish job was poor quality... For $40 dollars.. I cannot complain, however, I would request one of the older women to complete my service if I return for next time. read more

Update: I'm here waiting on my ride, and a lady comes from the back and says "I messed up my toes" apparently she was getting her lashes done. They are fixing her toes. Meticulous and clean, very professional nail salon. I was very nervous to go back to a strip mall salon to get my nails done, I had to go to a doctor because of nail fungus from a strip mall salon, so it has been years since I have had any type of pedicure or manicure in a strip mall salon. However, this one had very good reviews so I decided to give them a try, Very happy I did, I will be back. I had one little bubble in one of my nails, I asked if there was any way to correct it when I was checking out. I have never had gel nails so I did not know if it was fixable or not. Rosie the manager took me back to the table and brought out my nail technician to show her what was wrong and fixed my nail, I am very happy. I hope the gel last like I was told. It was okay. I just moved to Metairie area so looking for a new salon to frequent every month. They were able to get me in for a fill last minute, which I was super happy about (the other place I made an online appt for I found out was closed when I showed up). The lady who did my nails was very nice but they charge an extra $5 to cut down your nails and $5 for the shape. After my nails were cut down she didn't make sure they were the same length on both side (usually do a side by side comparison). They aren't really shaped coffin style like how I asked, some look more square. I'll just end up filing and fixing myself. The chairs that you sit on are worn out and peeling. I'm not sure if I'll go again, but it wasn't the worst of places. read more

Seriously y'all- I love everything about this place. Let me start by saying that I'm a woman of habit, and I'm typically extremely resistant to even the smallest amount change. I know, I know, I'm boring but I like consistency and knowing what to expect from an experience. So say what ya want but when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. I guess you could say my motto may be 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Well folks, something was broke, or chipped to be exact; my nail polish and I was damn tired of it! Cue Aqua Nails and Spa and the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah. Aqua is the Only nail spa in Metairie to offer the SNS dip. Before coming here I had never even heard of an SNS dip and this is coming from someone who has been getting their nails done regularly for at least ten years now. I've heard of acrylics, shellac polish, colored acrylic powders, standard polish, you name it! But never of SNS dips. Apparently it's not very popular in the New Orleans area, which is probably why I've never heard of it. After quite a bit of research, I decided I was going to bite the bullet and give it a go. I was anxious about not only going to a new nail salon, but also trying out a completely new (to me) technique on my nails. I've been getting gel polish on my natural nails for about two years now, and before that I was doing acrylic topped with gel polish. The issue I was having is 1) My polish was constantly chipping/peeling and 2) My nails were always weak after my gel either peeled off or was removed via acetone which was preventing my nails from growing to my desired length. I was fed up. Gel polish isn't cheap, and my polish chipping and peeling 4 days (sometimes even the very next day!) after my manicure was driving me crazy. The solution? The SNS dip. Basically the dip is a beautiful middle ground between the strength of acrylics and the lasting power of shellac/color acrylic powders. What makes it better than the aforementioned options? Well there are several reasons: It doesn't destroy your natural nails, it's more durable and flexible than traditional acrylics, it doesn't require UV light to set like shellac, and best of all it looks natural. The only drawback is that they're a bit pricier than shellac manicures, but honestly if you were having the same polish issues as I was experiencing then it's worth the splurge to have a long lasting manicure that looks just as beautiful 3 to 4 weeks later. Needless to say, I'm converted. Go to Aqua Nails. Get the dip. Never look back. read more

I really didn't want to write this review because this place was so clean and the ladies that work there were so nice...but the work that was done was so unacceptable I won't be going back. After an hour an a half, my set of dip powder nails is lumpy and uneven and way too thick - just messy. Also, my cuticles are bleeding, shape is not what I asked for, and my top coat is messed up (and was before I got up from the table) on half of my nails. This is honestly the worst my nails have ever looked and I'm so embarrassed. I'm going to get them redone as soon as I get home to my regular salon. Thumbs up for cleanliness, ambiance, and customer service. But don't offer dip powder if you're not going to offer the same level of clean, precise work that you do with gel, shellac, and regular polish. read more

Most consistent nail place that I have tried and I've tried a lot. They always take their time and my gel doesn't chip, even when I've gone three weeks in between getting them done. Great pedis too. I was pleased with the work when I left, but later that night, both of my thumbs chipped off. So I went back and they fixed them with no problem! The next day, 3 of my other nails chipped off as well. I feel like my nails could have been done better to prevent these chips. I don't have hard working hands, so the dip was chipping randomly. I enjoyed the experience and loved the place, but I am really upset my nails didn't last. My sister got dip as well, hers are excellent and have not chipped at all.
