I love going to blush for gel manicures and Rose pedicures. Every time I have excellent service, the owner of the salon even did my nails during this last visit. Decided to give a new shop a chance. When we walked we were greeted and offered hand sanitizer. They did have a few people in front of us being serviced and were asked if we were ok with waiting. When they started working on our nails( 2 full sets) they took they're time and made sure every step was done with care. I would say that they're perfectionist which is what you want when someone is doing your nails. They don't overwhelm themselves and did have to turn some people away due to having people already waiting to be serviced. The nail bar was nice and spacious. I would go back. I didn't read beforehand, as I was next door getting boba and thought to just drop in. I walked out. They seem to do shitty work, they're anti-Black AF, and It's 2021, I am refusing to patron those places and given the money Black women spend on nails, you should too. STOP GIVING BIGOTS YOUR MONEY. I walked in at 6:30 for a pedicure, and I left at 6:50pm. Someone walked in after me, and the woman proceeded to service her. She said "I had a little time to kill, so I thought I would get my feet done." The technician lied and said that she had an appointment when I asked her after 15 minutes of waiting what was going on. I asked on my way out of there was the name of a manage, and another technician said there was no manager, because all of the people had appointments. A few things: that's a lie, as established by the woman who walked in before me and was serviced. Two, at no point when you ask for a manager's contact information should you be denied that information. I would suggest if you are Black, find someplace else to patron. Came here on a whim to try somewhere new. Definitely won't be back. Originally planned to get an in an out pedi and a full set. After being left for 45 min to soak off my own nails they moved me to a pedi chair... where I was left with chalky acrylic all over my hands and has to ask repeatedly for them to remove it. So now I'm still sitting here.... I did however decide to change what I wanted to a basic mani pedi so I can leave with my nails looking somewhat presentable.... would NOT recommend! Go to l'amour or aqua nails. EDIT. She did a great job on my basic pedi. My first manicure was a gel manicure that lasted for a whopping 4 weeks....no chips or cracks! This time I came in for gel manicure to match a dress. I went here based on reviews from yelp and because I was not super-happy with my nail salon here in NOLA. I arrived at the place a little after 10am and didn't get taken until about 11am. There were 2 people working and 2 people receiving services, so I had to wait-- I don't know if this is typical (having so few people working), or if it was because it was in the morning. If I had been in a hurry I would have left, but since I had nothing else to do, I stayed and it was worth it. The guy who did my nails was super-friendly and we chatted about a lot of different things while I was there. He did a great job with my nails and didn't rush, nor did he go too slowly. They had a variety of colors to choose from, although I didn't see that they had more than just what was on the side wall until I sat down and he started working on my nails (there were more polishes behind the chairs). The place was clean and they offer a variety of services from waxing to different kinds of spa pedicures. I enjoyed my first experience. I am in town briefly and drove from the WESTBANK today and was treated so EXTREMELY rudely I have to edit my original review. I walked up to the counter and though there were several technicians working I waited a full minute to before someone acknowledged me. I then told them I need one regular manicure and one shellac manicure. One tech looked to the other and said "you can answer that I'm not dealing with that!" So I will not be returning back here. I went her on Friday 5/26 to get a gel polish and a pedicure. When I came back to get my gel polish I heard the worker next to me tell a customer oh I'm going to put something on your nails to make them last longer. Imma take care of you. I am very disappointed with my nails. The woman who did them told me half way through doing my nails that she didn't even know how to do a full set of gel nails. She made them completely crooked, thick, and bumpy, and filed them so short that she might as well have not put tips on. They're so bad that I was embarrassed to go out to my event with those nails but I had no choice because I didn't have time to ask her to redo them because she already took 2 1/2 hours to do them! I just went here for the first time today and I LOVED this place. I have frequented just about every nail salon in the Metairie area (at some point or another) and this is the first time I have ever felt so compelled to give a raving yelp review over ANY of them. Kenny took care of me and I got a pedicure a shellac manicure. It's hard to get in somewhere who can do both those things in a timely manner. Also, I'm an avid shellac lover but I have had some horrible shellac jobs in the past because of the staff trying to rush through it so they can get to the next customer (and therefore get more money...). Well not this place!!! Kenny was great!!! He even chatted with me the whole time and made me feel super comfortable. Like a friend who just happened to be doing my mani pedi job. I hate when you go into a salon an they are grumpy, or ignore you, or talk in a different language the whole time. That always makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them in some way, or that they don't really want to take care of me. They have a lot of options for those who want a more pampering pedicure experience, even a pedicure with aroma therapy! I just got the "in and out" pedicure but I'd be willing to take another look at their upgrades next time I go. Kenny also did a great job on my shellac. I have a bad bad bad terrible habit of biting my nails so I get shellac to prohibit me from doing this and I got a super bold red color and it looks great! No bumps or inconsistencies in the polish job and he did it all fairly quickly. I also liked that 1 person took care of me the whole time I was there. I hate getting bounced around from person to person because I never know who I'm tipping when I check out. I highly recommend this place. Their prices aren't the cheapest in the area, but maybe just by a couple of dollars or so, nothing crazy. They are well worth it :-) read more

Before and after cutting my nails, the girl (Amy) made sure I was happy with the length. She made sure I was happy with the shape after filling them. Best manicure, worst pedicure (done by 2 different people) The place is nice and clean. They are super friendly and the lady, Amy, who did my manicure was fantastic. My pedicure however wasn't so. The guy doing it was way aggressive on the cuticle cutting. I bleed 4 times. I've had many pedicures and only one other time been cut. Despite me telling him it hurt, he continued doing what he was doing. He was nice enough but that alone would make me not come back. I'm paying a lot for this service, I don't need to bleed too. I'm glad I waited to post this review. That evening the areas that were cut started to itch and turn red. It took several days for them to heal and a lot of antibiotic ointment. Should have listened to all the negative reviews about this place. The guy who helped me was very clueless and made two of my fingers bleed really bad while cutting back my cuticles. On top he also painted my nails with a wrong color. They still insisted to charge me $65, then told me to come back the next day to get them fixed. I came back the next day. They made a third finger bleed for the same reason, and charged me an extra $10 for changing the color. Completely ridiculous and and I feel they took advantage of me after over charging me and not compensating for the damage. The bleeding fingers kept getting worse and hurt whenever I carry anything, and one of them is swollen. read more

She uses a Dremel to remove the gel instead of scraping and when I said that it was making my nails hot and it was uncomfortable she got all upset. During the manicure she proceeded to tell me she had been doing manicures for 10 years and I said that's great I've been getting manicures for 30 years and I know what I like. She could not give a $&@! At one point she just yelled at me switch your hands. I did him my feet done the other day and the girl that did my pedicure was sweet this woman's name is THUY. I actually think she is good but she's so rude I will never go back I will pay $10 more a visit rather than put up with that rudeness. That said, I don't think she would care because she clearly did not like me and I knew it. Currently sitting at a table with my acrylics half way soaked off. I arrived at this place at 5:03 PM they didn't acknowledge me for an hour, I was instructed to take a seat and ten minutes later they began the soaking process. Now it it's after 7:00 and I'm sitting here with chalky hands praying somebody comes and at least makes my hands look presentable so I can leave at some point tonight. Stopped in after making an unplanned stop at Barnes & Noble & having some extra time to kill. My normal place is on the Northshore, so I decided to give this place a try. Seeing the pics of the inside on here, I thought the place looked clean and modern - for the prime location figured they likely made sure the service was on par. I will say, the decor is cool, but I definitely missed the massage chairs that are normally at these types of places! The seating for the pedicure, while it looks cool, is actually awkward and uncomfortable. While the design is nice and I received a friendly greeting upon arriving, things quickly went downhill. I don't know about the others who work here, but the girl who did my pedicure was severely inexperienced. She obviously tried to do a good job, but that did not make up for it. Awkward in her movements and gestures, I had to guess what she wanted me to do since she did not give any of the normal indications like touching of one foot or another to let you know which she was ready for. At one point, she placed my foot outside of the water for several minutes while she went to retrieve something. Would have been nice if I could of let it soak during that time! She did not allow my feet to soak at all before beginning the removal of cuticles. Maybe 10 seconds. The filing with the Emory board was so rough on my skin I literally thought I was going to start bleeding. I imagine it will be red and inflamed over the next few days. Let's be clear, I receive regular pedicures and do not have any issues that would require such a rough hand. It was that she was obviously inexperienced. I look forward to my pedicures and often opt for the more deluxe services (additional massage, etc). After discovering the level of service I was receiving here, I quickly asked to change from the 'herbal' pedicure to the most basic, quickest one. I wanted it to be over with as quickly as possible. The cuticle removal was brutal. Again, I fully expect inflammation and scabbing. Not the look I was going for for summer! I heard her comment at one point she is still in high school. I think it's great to employ our youth, but a word to the owners: if you are trying to increase your client base, I would let the youth do things around the shop like cleanup until they have practiced enough to do a good enough job. And it was not that no one else was available - there was on older lady sitting in the front looking at her phone the whole time who likely could have made a better first impression.
