This is the largest liquor store in Revere. They have pretty much anything you could desire. The beer selection in amazing with 100's of IPA's. The wine selection is even better, and they have a guy Brian? I think that's his name (sorry if not) that is extremely knowledgeable in the wine/liquor and is very personable and willing to chat about his extensive inventory of hard to find bottles. The parking lot is a good size and it's easy to find a spot most days. The store is always clean and has some nice displays near the entrance. Prices are average. read more

I've been to some liquor stores and this is the best one. Big selection of liquors with good price, they have everything that I was looking for. The place is organized and well displayed. Staff are nice and friendly, always there to help if we need. Parking lot is big enough that I never had a hard time finding the spot. read more

Not sure why there isn't a seperate subcategory for liquor stores, but let's go ahead and make one. There is some confusion about the various different Blanchard variations around Mass. There's the Blanchard's Liquors in Allston, and there's the Blanchards (no apostrophe) Liquor stores around Mass, Hyannis, Revere, West Roxbury, J.P. and Marshfield. This review concerns the Blanchards Liquor in Revere, though a similar case can be made for all the other stores (and yes, I've visited them all) First of all, how many times have you gone into your local packie and thought "hmm, I'd really love a sixer of Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale" only to find that their "Microbrew" section consists of Heineken, Amstel Light and Sam? I live in East Boston, and that is one of the few drawbacks of that area of the city - nothing but ghetto beer/wine/liquor stores. Someone is going to open up a more upscale shop in the area and make a killing. ANYWAY....if you live in Eastie, and you want quality, selection and price (I sound a bit like a commercial) you have to head to Blanchards in Revere. The store itself is located in a weird intersection, making getting in and out a bit of a challenge, but once you get beyond that, you've got one of the best local shops all laid out before you. Wine: This is where they win a lot of points with me. Every saturday they do a free tasting, and folks in the know will head down in the afternoon for their latest offerings. Their wine purchaser is a canny local dude who buys quality over name recognition. I've made some great discoveries because of him, and he is very patient about explaining wine basics to folks who may not subscribe to Wine Spectator. They also have a bi-monthly newsletter that they send around showing the specials and the dates and times of all the special events. Beer: You want it, they got it, or they'll get it. My new favorite drink is Snakebites with Ipswich Ale and Strongbow Dry Cider. The day I went in they were out of Strongbow. The manager said that his distributor was due that day, and he would ask them to throw an extra couple of cases of it on the truck. Later that day, when I swung back that way, sure enough, they had the Strongbow. Nuff said. Liquor: abso-frickin-lutely. It's not the New Hampshire state store, but they have pretty much anything you want. The only thing that could use a bit more selection in my book is Single-malts, but the prices can't be beat anywhere. I put these guys on a par with Kappy's, in terms of selection and price, but with the friendly staff of a family store. Really the best of all possible worlds. read more

Awesome liquor store in Revere. We were en route from Boston Logan to Maine, and were in the market for some craft beer for the cabin. I stumbled upon Blanchards on Yelp, and was glad we checked it out. They have a pretty good selection of craft beers, wine, and liquor. Prices were good, and the workers were helpful and friendly. We had no issue parking/getting in but it was also very early in the day, and I could see the area getting tricky in the evening/peak times. read more

I randomly stopped here on the way back from a meeting. This place is the king of Blanchards. Huge selection. When one of the workers saw me going through the craft beer section we ended up one-upping each other for like 15 minutes on our craft beer knowledge. So needless to say these guys know their stuff. Although I love the store, the main thing that I want to comment on is the internet sales department, headed by Eden Stone. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you will get emails describing "best case scenarios," where Eden describes (always accurately) a special deal that she has arranged. I have bought cases for every price from $66 to $180 and they have all been just what she described. But when she posts these deals, be sure to act fast because they are usually gone in a single day. Eden can arrange for you to pay no shipping if you pick it up at the Revere location (or at her home base in West Roxbury if that's closer for you). For me, it's an easy pick up at the Revere store when I am going into Boston via the airport. Of course you can also have wines shipped to your home in MA, but it's a charge of about $30! read more

I have to show love for my local liquor store. They've got a great selection at decent prices. Occasionally, when I go in at the right time, they have wine tastings and an expert standing nearby to educate shoppers on notes (or is that in fragrance?) and food pairings and what not. The other employees are very nice and helpful as well. Just bear this in mind, the parking lot is horrible! Very tiny. We went the night before Thanksgiving and the place was packed. Of course there were those douches who take up 2 spots just so they can stand in the middle and talk to their buddies, or the guy who was waxing his car, even though it was 9:45 at night and horns were honking and chaos was raining down around him. Still, Blanchards is another reason I love Revere. read more

They have good prices, even for Mass and a huge variety of wines and hard alcohols. Its in a location where you can't miss it if youre trying to get to rt 1 from Boston. They were pretty friendly and not at all shady like you would expect at smaller neighborhood booze stores. read more

I am a big fan of Blanchards. Luckily for me, this location is right near my work. If I am craving some craft beer, I know I will be able to find something delicious here. I think the overall beer selection is top notch. They have a wide variety from your run of the mill Bud Light to Stone Brewing Company's delicious Arrogant Bastard Ale. The liquor selection is also substantial. I've been able to find things like Root liquor (I forget who makes it, but it is basically a root beer liquor), great Sctoch, and smooth vodka. I have yet to buy wine here, but the wine section is enourmous. The staff is always friendly and will help you look for anything you need (and they offer great suggestions too). The parking lot is a little bit tricky to get in and out of if there is a lot of traffic, but it's not so bad once you get used to it. Normally I won't go out of my way to stop a a liquor store to buy beer, but I make many exceptions to swing by this Blanchard's location on weekends to pick up some craft beers. read more

Good selection of liquors. When you walk in, everything is easily accessible. The whole place is neatly displayed, clean and organized very well. The workers are nice and they are very attentive. Ask them a question or for help and they'll do what they can. The only downside is that the parking is super bad. The lot is small and all the spots are in bad angles. It's located on a very busy intersection so during traffic, it's very hard to maneuver around the small spaces while trying to avoid other cars. But besides that, everything else is just what you'd want in a local liquor store. read more

Excellent selection of wine and liquor, but terrible customer service. In particular the manager - Bridget Hurd. This location has an ID policy where every adult in a party must have an ID present. I understand the reasoning behind this policy, but I was not aware of it when I went in to purchase some wine. I didn't have my wallet with me (I'm 34) so I was planning to choose some wine and my husband was going to purchase it. When we approached the cash register with our toddler son, Bridget loudly and rudely announced that we would not be allowed to buy the wine since I didn't have my ID, even though my husband had his. This was announced so aggressively that other customers turned around to stare. My husband then decided to browse for some beer for himself. When he went to pay about 20 mins later, he was not allowed to purchase it since he was with me. Bridget didn't mention this when we started browsing, so we wasted about 20 mins looking at beer for no reason. Please be more clear and more polite about your policies. No need to raise your voice or embarrass customers. read more

Oh, my. I really like wine...and I really love the wine I love, priced $5 cheaper than my go-to store in Southie. This place cannot be beat! Clean, organized store with a great selection...and did I mention, dirt cheap?! I buy cases when I take the ride.... I would reccomend a field trip to Revere for any wine lovers. Stat! read more

Very good liquor store and it's close to home. They do wine tastings here on the weekends. It is always the same guy since I've been going and he always seemed knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a good selection of micro-brews. read more

Great selection, nice staff and decent prices. Only down side is the area itself. BUSY is putting it mildly. Not their fault and probably great for business having high volume cruising by constantly but it's just tough getting in and out of the smallish parking lot and street. Again not their fault. This place has a pretty good selection and reasonable prices. I live right across the street from a liquor store but I usually get in my car and drive the extra 15 minutes to go here instead. Their craft beer selection is great and they have some local wines too. The people that work there are always helpful and if they don't know the answer, they will make an effort to find it out for you. read more

Blanchards is by far the best place to buy wine and spirits. I live closer to other package stores in the area but it's well worth the extra couple of minutes to go to Blanchards. They have an wonderful selection of beer and wines and the staff there is always friendly and very helpful...especially with the wine selections. Can't beat the prices either. They often run specials and have a large selection of spirits with prices to accommodate everyone's budget. Easy access location and plenty of parking. read more

First of all we live close the Kappy's Liquor store, but both my husband and I rather go the Blanchards Liquor store in Revere, because everyone there are really nice, especially the wine Manager Brian he is by far the nicest person there. We go there to buy all our wine and we also go there because of him. If you ever go there and don't know which wine you would like to try today. Ask for Brian, he is always eager to help and very friendly. The employees at Kappy's on route 1 Saugus and in Medford MA are very rude. read more

This is as good as it get for a liquor store and I love this store. I can find whatever I need every time I have a party at home. They even went extra to satisfy your need for any particular wine if you contact them in advance, so they can find it for you. One thing, though, just don't drink yourself to death with their wines and beers. hehe read more
