I will never use this place again the delivery driver is a complete asshole . We place the order at approximately 8:15 still hadn't received the order at about approximately 10:30 . With a liquor order you need to come to the door because you have to check the ID . My front light was on from approximately 8:00 until 11:00 this lazy MUTHA never came to the front door even though he absolutely needs to to check the ID so when I called him he told me that there were no lights on which he is so full of shit about that because they were on for almost three full hours to not get out of the car when you need to tell me everything I need to know about not only the driver but his employer if I could give him a zero I would but unfortunately I can't so he's getting a one star read more

Goes "well give me 30-45 since there's a lot of traffic right now and the cops are always pulling me over in Winthrop so I have to go extra slow so I don't get my license taken away again....blah blah something to that extent. Woody's is pretty rockin. They are located across from the Orient Heights station so if youre going to the Throp, you can walk on over and get your booze and catch the bus. They deliver... I don't understand how or what, but they do which is kind of hott. They were really friendly and funny when I went in there and they have a pretty decent wine and spirits selection at decent prices. If I didn't live in a tiny town with 10 liquor stores per square mile, I would totally go here more often. read more

I guess the owner of this fine establishment does not like when customers warn other customers that they might be in for an extended wait (see original review below). I realize a single experience is not representative of every experience (thus the aggregating nature of Yelp), but I had a little fun sharing my sub-par transaction with my fellow citizens (the point of Yelp) so that they might be able to put their hard-earned money to good use (the point of Yelp) and let them value their time as they see fit (the point of Yelp). After all, maybe long waits are something people crave. I'm not trying to deprive anyone of that. The owner's follow-up to my review, sent by private message, began with "Thanks." But I quickly began to suspect he was actually not thankful. He called me a twenty-something, which he seemed to mean pejoratively, who has "never had to fight or work for anything in your short uneventful life so you think 'I'll try and destroy this place by giving it 1 star.'" But I want to set the record straight: my life has had an event or two in it and every now and then a downright decent one. Some even took a little work. He insisted that I am "very little" and wagered that I "probably have Napoleon syndrome," but I insist I am not and do not. It's interesting that his mind leapt to this charge. He also seemed to be mocking me when he said that "millions perhaps even hundreds (sic) of people will now see what [you] wrote and this would be perhaps your finest work that you wrote (sic) since you plagiarized that English literature thesis paper sophomore year." That's when I knew he wasn't messing around. I did once plagiarize a poem back in high school, and I feel pretty bad about it. I still do. That hit a little close to home. I'm still trying to get over that day. So if you want to avoid having your feelings borne bare by the unsolicited and razor-sharp Freudian insight of a business owner who misunderstands Yelp, I suggest you take care to avoid the tears of vulnerability that are sure to follow should you post a review and experience the customer service of John the owner. Clean, organized, well-stocked and expedient service. I don't have anything bad to say about Woody's other than the lady who waited on us seemed annoyed that we were there to buy alcohol and didn't seem to want to help us at all. Woody's is cool for three reasons. 1) They deliver 2) They are polite and friendly 3) They have not one, not two, not three, but FOUR different kinds of cider. Now, granted...I won't drink two of them (Woodpecker and Harpoon (cause Harpoon sucks)) but the very fact that they have that kind of variety for us non-beer drinkers is wonderful. So having Woody's located right across the street from the Orient Heights blue line was great. I could grab my drinks while waiting for the bus to get me home. So I placed an order through Foodler for delivery. Pizza to arrive around 7:50. I finally called around 8:40. The lovely woman on the phone said there was an issue with the fax from Foodler, they didn't get the order until 7:30, and my food had just left the restaurant. I get that it wasn't their fault, but a call when the fax came in, telling me of the new ETA, would have been nice. That said, even if the fax got there at 7:30 (on a Saturday night) my food still didn't get to me, 2.5 miles and 10 minutes away, until 8:55. Soo delivery was a bit slow. That said. The pizza was great. The best I've been able to get delivered since I moved to East Boston. Sooo I guess don't order from them via Foodler and enjoy some great pizza (but be aware of the possibility that delivery will take ages). read more

They were at my hotel in 15 minutes, they got my order wrong (didn't hear me order Vodka) but apologized and took off to retrieve my booze. What a great business, they will actually drive to a guys hotel thinking they are only delivering 2 packs of Camel Lights and a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi. One of the 1st things I like to have knowledge of after any move into a new neighborhood is the location of the nearest package store. Every time i walk into Woody's I always fear they will not have something an adult beverage I want but this place is deceptively vast. Especially with the newly added section which by the looks of it is being used for wine tasting. Venture into the freezer if there is something that is not catching your eye out front. As many have mentioned before, their location is a huge factor. Being one T stop away or a 5 minute drive is super convenient plus if you don't feel like leaving the house? Just have it delivered. Now that's brilliant. In addition to adult beverages they also have a decent assortment of snacks & soft drinks. They have Faygo for all the Juggalos left out there. I stopped at Woody's this past Saturday on my way to visit friends in Winthrop. I purchased a 1.75 litre bottle of Absolut and a small bottle of cranberry juice. When I took the purchases to the counter, the lady stated $49.00. I thought that this was high but since I hadn't purchased Vodka for awhile, I didn't question it. When I got to my friends place and said what I had just paid for the Vodka at Woody's, I was told that I had been ripped off because I was not a local. I don't know if this statement is true but out of towners beware of the prices at this establishment. I have since seen in other stores that the 1.75 litre bottle ranges from $29-$33. That must have been one expensive bottle of cranberry juice! In my opinion, the person at the register is dishonest and I will never go back. read more
