Great spot to check out for drinks and food! There are nearby stores like Macy's, Sephora, and Lululemon so you can shop before or after. We checked in with the host and were seated right away on a Friday around 3pm. The space is decorated with frames and very colorful pieces which was cool. Our server brought complimentary chips and salsa which were a great way to start our visit. For drinks, I ordered the frozen mango margarita and it was really good! We shared the spicy mango ceviche which was fresh and a good appetizer to share. I had the cheese enchiladas which come with rice and beans. The cheese was a little on the salty side but overall still good.

This restaurant is really good and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for some good food to eat! I have been here three times already and each time the service is quick fast and efficient. Highly recommend for anyone wanting some good comfort food and a very chill atmosphere, definitely will be coming back!

Busy restaurant on a Saturday night. A 40-minute wait for a party of four without a reservation, so to the bar we went! Bad thing, TV's were not working during March Madness (one star loss.) Friendly, nice bartender who took good care of us. Margaritas were just ok. Week so switched to beer. Good selection.of beers on tap. Chips and salsa were good. Not great, but good. Two taco with rice and beans combo was good. Carnitas and Birria, both very tasty. Would return but not for the margaritas.

I had a short rib machaca burrito delivered. Boy, this burrito was packed with meat, so much so that I have some leftover for tomorrow! The burrito has great flavor but I tend to like some crunch, like cabbage, with it. I did feel like I got my money's worth based on the heft of the meat, though. I was disappointed with the small little bit of guacamole that comes with it and that it had already turned dark! Glad I didn't order additional guacamole if it was not going to be fresh! There was also wilted cilantro on the top of my burrito. Tip: eat at the restaurant! Don't have it delivered! I've had other meals at the restaurant that were great!

Blanco Cocina + Cantina is a casual Mexican spot located in Biltmore Fashion Park. I went in a bit skeptical since the Houston location closed. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, with plenty of space for groups or grabbing drinks before dinner. The service was friendly and attentive. The Paloma was refreshing and tasty. The salsa, however, was underwhelming and lacked flavor. The fish tacos were very tasty, and the rice was rich and buttery. The elote was extremely creamy but still delicious.

Headed over to Blanco after Yappy Hour and it did not disappoint. The server was very friendly and personable, she even shared a picture of her own pup with us! Super cute! I ordered the warm queso to start, and I was totally not reading and didn't notice that it came with avocado on it so I did have to send it back because I'm allergic but they were very accommodating and brought me a new one, avocado free! The queso was delicious. The real star of the show though was The Tucson Chimichanga which we ordered with the Short Rib Machaca and Enchilada Style! It was also accompanied by rice and beans. The entire thing was soooo yummy. My dog even got his own side of grilled chicken which he absolutely devoured in no less than 30 seconds (LOL). I also ordered a cocktail, the Mango Stand (blanco tequila, spiced mango, chamoy rim). I'm not typically a mango flavor kind of gal but the server recommended it so I went with it. It wasn't bad at all but maybe not one I would get again. The next time I'm at the biltmore fashion park I will definitely be checking out Blanco again to try more delicious menu items.

A beautiful restaurant located in the heart of the Biltmore Fashion Square Mall. It is beautifully decorated with a mix of warm natural colors and Mexican culture. Small squint bar area with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The service is fast, friendly and attentive. The food is full of flavor and will leave you satisfied. This is a great choice if you have a craving for Mexican food!

This was a fun, vibey and delicious Mexican food spot in the trendy Biltmore district of Phoenix! I came here with colleagues on a business trip, and the place did not disappoint. They accommodated our large group and were able to split the bill for us, including a handy pay by phone option. I ordered a specialty margarita, the strawberry and mandarine one, which was super flavorful and delicious. It was just the right amount of strong. The server brought over fresh chips and salsa for the table, which was much appreciated. I ordered the steak fajitas, which came out smoking on a sizzling platter. I was impressed that all of my food was still hot, including the beans on the side considering we were part of a large group. The ambiance was fun with lots of cool art on the wall and pretty light fixtures all around. Over all, I'd come back for sure!

I really wanted to like this place and since it's at the Biltmore Fashion Square, I thought we would have a better time but it was a complete letdown. Weather was perfect and I met a girlfriend here after trying another place that was closed on Sunday. Sometimes shotgun decisions are good and other times like this, it is a disappointment. The space is really nice and we opted to sit outside. I will say the ambiance is nice here, so if that's what you're looking for, come here. What was very odd about our experience is that the place was almost deserted on a Sunday but it felt like the waiter wanted to get us out as quickly as possible. He made the experience pretty unenjoyable and I won't be returning. He kept rushing us to order drinks, and couldn't catch a clue that we were talking. He would leave and when he returned, it was like 2 minutes later. He couldn't pick up on cues and almost forgot to get my girlfriend's drink order. He then kept asking us if we wanted to start with an appetizer and kept suggesting guacamole and chips and when we didn't respond, he then said, "oh ok, just chips and salsa." He also forgot to bring a spicier salsa for my girlfriend even though they just went thru their spicy preferences. I wanted a quesadilla and it wasn't on the menu but he told me that they just turn their crisps into quesadillas. J got the poblano and cheese one, asked if they have mushrooms to add and he said they got rid of it. He also then mentioned they got rid of a dish that has sweet potatoes. Food came out quick, no complaints on the food, but nothing to write home about either. Just your average Mexican food. He then came back on the two bite check in but it literally felt like he came back right when our dishes were dropped off. He then kept asking if we wanted boxes when it was clear we were chatting and grazing slowly on our food. And then kept hounding us about our checks. Lets just say that the service made this place really not fun. It was a Sunday and no one was in the restaurant but it felt like the waiter just wanted to get us out and that was beyond annoying. There was no Sunday specials, food and drinks were mediocre, price point was on the higher end, and a waiter that had bad timing made this my first and last experience with this restaurant. You would do better going elsewhere.

I visited on a Sunday. There was one person seated at the bar and plenty of open seating inside and outside. It was a very relaxed, chilled vibe. We opted to sit outside. Our waiter was a mess. He did 2 minute check-ins, so annoying. I wondered what the rush was considering the place wasn't crowded. It was very difficult for my friend and I to have a decent conversation because of the constant interruptions. The waiter stated that he would bring out hot salsa with the chips. He forgot. I reminded him and another worker who delivered out entrees. He finally got around to delivering the salsa in between his frequent check-ins. I ordered a chicken burrito bowl. I enjoyed it! The waiter actually collected the bowl prior to me being finished. He assumed that I was done when my friend asked for a to-go box. It was apparent that he was ready for us to leave. Unbelievable. Accessible parking and entrance. Bathrooms are located downstairs.

oh my God, whatever that slushy drink was it was amazing!!! not too sweet. Very refreshing. I will keep going back just for that drink alone!! But the nachos were so so so yummy and unhappy hour we couldn't even finish them because we were stuffed!!! Can't wait to go back.

Blanco, one of the Fox Restaurant Concepts eateries, is a great spot for a date night or get-together with friends. It's got cool decor and music that adds to the ambiance without being too loud. Service is friendly and usually pretty fast. The food is elevated Mexican, and while I haven't had anything that's out of this world, everything has been very good--there's nothing I regret ordering and there are several things I'd be happy to order again. The Warm Queso is good, though I prefer the Queso Fundido, which has a richer flavor. The Chicken Taquitos are another good starter option. For an entree, I like the Carne Asada Bowl. Blanco also has a strong drink menu that's understandably heavy on the tequila- and mezcal-based cocktails. I like the Strawberry and Mandarin Margarita. Overall, Blanco is a consistently good spot for a fun and tasty meal out.

Fantastic food and margaritas. I had the seasonal margarita with salted rim and it was the best margarita I've ever had! I rarely drink, but I was celebrating with friends and it was worth it. Highly recommend the enchiladas chicken tika. Comes with rice and beans, which were good too. Dessert: flan is a must try. Our friends ate up the tres leches and they really enjoyed it. Awesome service, very quick and got everything correct.

Really cool atmosphere, even though we only dined on the patio. Right at the mall there is a little bit of seating outside. This review is solely on the Cheese Crisps, which I had never heard of before. It's delivered similar to a good-sized thin, really thin, crust pizza. Of course, it's topped with delicious cheese and other options of your choice. I went with the Short Rib Machaca. Good quantity and flavor, I needed to take some home. It seems like the kind of place to return to and hang out for a while. Check it out. read more

4.25. Upon landing in Phoenix we came straight to Blanco Tacos for lunch! It held up to all the hype. Great location at the Biltmore Fashion Park! Atmosphere and vibes are super! Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Drinks and food came quickly. Chips and salsa are addictive! My rosé was perfect and the hubs liked his IPA. We shared the combo fajita platter with carne asada and chicken with corn tortillas. Everything was amazing. I ate the beef and chicken by themselves towards the end and they were so well marinated. Wow! You won't go wrong here. And the decor is on point too! read more

The ambiance was nice but that was the only thing nice about this restaurant. Service was not good , not once did they check up on our table to see how everything was tasting/going. The food was terrible not authentic at all. I got tacos Ala Carte they were all over salted they came with big cilantro leaves that get stuck to your teeth at least minced the cilantro, also no limes on tacos you have to request it. Margaritas were okay. Not coming here again! stay away if you want good Mexican food. read more

11/12 update: I received a very nice email from the restaurant manager (Cecilia) today, with a sincere concern and apology for a bad experience. She has invited us back to her restaurant and give it another chance. I have updated this review to a 3-star as a result. --------- 11/10 This afternoon, I honestly felt I was being filmed on the show "Punked." EVERYTHING about my experience this afternoon was horrible, and I am quite surprised that the Blanco on Camelback is remotely connected to the Blanco on Scottsdale Rd. (We are frequent visitors to the Scottsdale Rd. location, and our service, food, and overall experience has always been excellent there...) But being on that side of town near the Biltmore, my wife and I decided to eat at that location vs driving all the way across town. But getting back to being "Punked," let me explain: 1) The wait staff (the 5 or 6 that we noticed) didn't smile ONCE during our visit. Hey, if you don't want to work on Sunday afternoons (or any time for that matter) or you don't like your job, find another line of work.) They honestly looked/acted like they were just going through the motions... 2) It was 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and the place was 30-40% full. Plenty of employees for the crowd. Waited 15 minutes for our drinks... 3) Chips = stale and flavorless. Ate them only because we were hungry... 4) Crispy beef tacos - oh boy. The ground beef tasted like it was 20% salt. The corn taco shells were out of an Old El Paso box, and stale as well... having never had the "2 crispy taco" entree, I didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, if I wanted El Paso shells with poorly seasoned taco meat, I would have made dinner myself and saved the $60 bill... I will not stop visiting Blanco....on Scottsdale Rd of course... read more

Our friends invited us to Happy Hour at Blanco Tacos + Tequila. While we were familiar with the surrounding restaurants and area, we hadn't visited this establishment yet. With a very open and lively interior, the high ceilings made the room feel huge. We decided to get a table outside as it wasn't too hot with the outdoor misters on. While they cooled us down, the misters were set so that our table and seating (and drinks) were getting wetter than what we were willing to tolerate. After a first round of margaritas and taco's, we chose to switch tables in a shaded area away from the misters. By this time, the temperature had cooled off a bit to where it was still tolerable. Our waitress was very kind, attentive and pleasant. I opted for the margarita and the pink sangria as beverages and tried a portion of the pastor chicken taco and the carnitas taco and was very pleased. For $3 tacos and $5 drinks, this is definitely a nice spot to check out; we'll be back! read more

Great dinner at Blanco was hoping for a great meal on our last night in Arizona. Found it before we had to leave for the airport. Came on a Monday night and it was very busy ( No D Backs or Suns game going on) so I imagine it's a hot spot. Great decor lively atmosphere without being too overwhelming loud. Nice touches like skewers on the drinks very nice presentation! Service was very good and our server and host were super friendly. Love Tex -Mex : southwest food and this hit the spot. Great chips and salsa guacamole and the enchiladas were on point ( you can customize a lot of things as well into bowls) loved it! Definitely wish I was closer !! Will be back to Phoenix and get back to Blanco! read more

They sat us at a table. I waited about 15 minutes for a server. No one ever came back to offer us a glass of water, drinks, or anything else. The restaurant was not crowded. I comforted the host about the service, and she was speechless and clueless. POOR SERVICE! I will never return. I went to Cheesecake Factory instead. This was our favorite meal in Phoenix/Scottsdale. The homemade chips and Caesar salad were great, but the real star was the "Tucson style" chimichangas. I'm not sure what makes them Tucson style but I now want to go to Tucson because these were probably the best chimichangas I've ever had. Our server was great with Ilya, I forgot his name but he definitely took good care of myself, either in law and mother. The drinks were delicious and my margarita definitely hit the spot. I got a burrito and it was absolutely heavenly, I however did not know the square comes right on top of it, so it was more of a fork and knife burrito. I wonder if the sauce could come on the side and I can just eat the burrito as it is meant to be eaten, with my hands. I'll ask for that next time. The chips and salsa that cocked complementary at every table were definitely appreciated. Can't wait to come back. read more

My local friends brought me here for dinner. FIRST of all, I felt that they need to change their "6ft distance" seating arrangement because the host/hostess sat a couple next to our seating area even tho there is a barrier with a semi wall (look at #6 pic) it was NOT 6ft APART!! HEALTH SAFETY is real especially because of COVID-19 and the case numbers are escalating! I'm new in AZ but in Cali everyone is still wearing their mask and needs to be 6ft distance even with the dine-ins. I would of said something but we were almost done and I didn't want to make a big deal in front of my friends. I would recommend to do a zig zag seating arrangement instead of across from the other tables. We are STILL IN COVID-19 precautions and I felt this was not done correctly. Now that you know why I gave a 4 stars let's talk about their food. Our server was very attentive, he made sure that we were doing okay with our meals and drinks. He brought out chips and salsas which the chips was homemade very light and not greasy. I order the 3 tacos, rice, and black beans (choice of black or charro "pintos" beans). I was able to choice 3 different tacos so I order the grilled Mahi and grilled shrimp taco. It was delicious, very flavorful perfect seasoning, and perfect portion. Maybe. Did curb side pickup and tht was excellent and easy but we ordered carne asada fajitas and the steak was so salty I could not eat it. Must we use so much salt as salt for not equal flavor. The charro beans were incredibly salty as well and the chips were stale or they were not put in the crisper drawer and had to be thrown out. Honestly. If we are going to charge $15 plus an entree we need to do better. Salt is NOT necessary to be saturated for flavor as I can order the same thing at a filibertos and I won't end up at the heart hospital. Lay off the salt shaker! And keep the chips in the crisper drawer read more

**Vegetarian Friendly** Came here for a work event, so our menu was preset. They have a separate dining room downstairs for private events equipped with AV equipment (microphone and projector. You would need to bring your own laptop). There is also a bar in the dining room. Service was fantastic and very attentive. I would recommend this place for any Drinks: Pomegranate Margarita Sooo good!! They have a variety of unique mixes on the menu including a Mango Jalapeno! Appetizer: Chips and Salsa, Guacamole, and Mexican Street Corn The corn was fantastic! Probably one of my favorites in the valley. Entrée: Roasted Mushroom Tacos I'm usually not a fan of "roasted" items, but I really enjoyed these tacos! Unfortunately no option of hard tacos - only soft. Extra bonus points because the meal comes specifically with vegetarian black beans! Dessert: Brown Sugar Caramel Flan Not many people enjoy flan because of the consistency, but this was perfect! This establishment would not get my business if it wasn't for my love of tacos. Came through during lunch rush, group of 5, hostess said it'd be a 30 min wait, otherwise we could order the full menu at their corner window. We went and waited in line for nearly 20 minutes at the window only for them to tell us we couldn't order the full menu - complete waste of time, we could've been seated by then. I go back to the hostesses, a different girl finally said I was informed in error, ordering at the window is limited menu. Wait is still 15-30 min, either wait or order full menu for takeout at the bar. I didn't want to deal with them at this point, so I ordered for takeout - guacamole and chips, got the mahi mahi tacos and the "award winning" BBQ pork tacos. 40 minutes later, hungry and angry, we get to eat by the water fountain. BBQ pork tacos weren't much, mahi mahi was good... which is about the only good thing I could say about this place. Go elsewhere. read more

Their food is so good. They accommodate gluten free, and even prepare gluten free corn tortilla chips prepared in a separate deep fryer. I always appreciate the extra effort taken for dietary needs. Their enchiladas are cheesy, delicious and filling. Pretty much my go to whenever I order. Thank you Blanco! read more

Just yes. So so good. Get the queso dip as a starter and then anything with carnitas. I got the tacos with shrimp, carnitas and bbq pork and the carnitas were by far the best! My husband got the chicken enchiladas and loved those as well. We left so full, but so happy. Can't wait to go back one day! read more

Came here for a late lunch. I will say before I begin I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because they got it all...Great service, good food, great drinks and the restaurant is super cool. I will say their food is nothing super special. I can't imagine craving the food here. It's a wonderful place to hang out and eat. Is there anything that I would say was an OMG moment...? Not really. That being said was the food bad? no! It was good. Good fresh quality food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area with friends or family. This is JUST my opinion. Blanco is consistently decent. You always can expect the food and drinks prepared the same way but it is not "authentic Mexican food". The rice does taste a little "uncle bensey" but it's still good. I like the service and the chips and salsa is always good. I also like that you can swap green sauce for red or vice versa in dishes and order mixed meat taco plates. I do enjoy Blancos food every time! Today the only issue was if my kid isn't happy Im not happy! I ordered shrimp fajitas, carne asada combination and the kid's chicken tacos. The picture on menu shows 2 tacos and fries. My kid received one and like 4 fries barely! Why have a french fries as a side of your not giving any fries? Since it was for a kid of course they really wanted fries but thats not what they got! The manager sent me a message on yelp apologizing and that he was going to direct message me now about the "inflation kids meal" . But 24hr later no message! Went there with the ladies for some drinks and food. The wait was 20 min for a table which was reasonable and we decided to start with drinks. We got a carafe of red wine sangria and it was awesome. Got complimentary chips and salsa! They have a happy hour menu but we got there after so we didn't get to enjoy it. Next time tho. Food wise we all got tacos. I had the fish, carne asada and short rib. Short rib was definitely my favorite although the carne asada was also pretty good. The place is big, they even have a room downstairs for events. Super disappointed. I have been going to this location for years and the service has been slipping. I understand it's hard to get people to work. I called to make a reservation for 10 people. Left 3 message and no call back and could not make the RSVP online because of the large party. So I went in the restaurant to grab a snack and make it personally and was specific which table we wanted as the group was going to get up and talk to one another and didn't want to be in a booth. The front desk gal said "we don't check our voicemails". Also said the table would not be a problem. The date of the gathering the place is packed and they had me in a booth for my guests. Pretty basic taco joint. We came here during our first visit to Phoenix. We first noticed the lack of diversity in their host and waiting staff. I also did not care for the music. I guess I expect Hispanic/Latino music if that's the type of food you're serving - not pop music. But that's irrelevant. Our waitress was pretty basic as well - after learning we were all from out of town, she didn't offer any assistance with the menu. We also asked if they serve pitchers and she told us no but we discovered they did do a pitcher-drink option. Food was eh - I've had better tacos elsewhere. They lacked good seasoning. The last time I was in Phoenix, I decided to try out Blancos Tacos + Tequila for a solo lunch. I was doing a little shopping in the area and staying close by at the Embassy. One thing that I loved about BT+T was the Micheladas and Shandies. For my first, I ordered the Oaxacan Shandy with Jose Cuervo Tradicional, Solerno, Pineapple, Cilantro, Tecate Lager. With that I had a small order of Warm Queso Blanco dip with Chips for $3; pretty good and inexpensive. To eat, I tried to pick something small but the fish taco plate was quite filling. It was only $14 for three tacos with rice and beans. The rice was a little bland, but everything else was great. With that, I tried the Grapefruit Elderflower Shady with Belvedere Grapefruit, Elderflower, Fresh Grapefruit and Modelo Especial. I wouldn't return to this place. The service was subpar, starting with the hostess. None of the staff was wearing a mask, which may be optional but not even 1 person?? Plus, they seated me on the patio right next to a party and I was dining solo. You couldn't seat me further away so I wouldn't be disturbed by them? Also, my server seemed like he was afraid of me or something. He was friendly, but very quiet and only came to the table maybe 3 times. I ordered the happy hour tacos and they were ok, nothing to write home about. The queso was really yummy though. After a little shopping at the Biltmore, this was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon lunch. We were seated immediately and not only was the hostess pleasant, but our server, Alexa, was quite friendly and helpful too. I ordered a seasonal margarita with pineapple and jalapeño which was divine. Chips and salsa were on our table in no time. As for our lunch, I had the grilled avocado tacos...really there are no words- they are so good! My lunch mates had the red chili chicken tacos and a chicken bowl and there were no complaints at our table. Everything came out in a timely manner and tasted fantastic. This was my first visit to this location (I had previously visited the Scottsdale location) and my experience was very different. The chips and salsa were delicious and the chips are still warm when brought to your table - yum! I tried the avocado tacos and they were very, very good! The spicy yogurt sauce makes the tacos and the pickled onions are an added bonus. Give these a try if you're looking for a delicious meat-free option. The service was great and tables were blocked off to allow for social distancing. I was hesitant to give this place a second try but I am so glad I did. This location won me back! read more

I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

Oh my God, finally a FOX winner in Phoenix. My consort and I tend to avoid Fox restaurants due to negative experiences. Their restaurants are usually located in upscale neighborhoods, focusing more on modern interior design and ambiance, and crowded with wannabe foodies and the tragically trendy crowd. Most disappointing is the lack of taste and a cuisine deficiency. We visited the taqueria for a casual weeknight dinner. We were drenched walking toward the entrance of the restaurant from a 'mister monsoon' located in the alfresco patio. These misters were like foggy nor'easter, not the usual drizzle effect. I know because my hair, a barometer of humidity, became frizzy within two minutes. For starters, we ordered the guacamole, chips, and Mexican street corn, a blend of roasted corn relish hand-cut off the cob and a bowl of corny delight. The magic show began with a bowl of chips disappearing soon after the mashed avocado appeared with a touch of tomato, roasted chili, caramelized onion, and a sprinkling of cojita cheese. Our tag team servers included a pro and a first night trainee, both attentive and full of personality. We chose a classic Greyhound with a twist to accompany our starters--their version included a grapefruit infused Vodka served in an eight ounce glass rather than a 16 ounce, which would have been preferred. The drink, tart and tasty, left one wanting the missing eight ounces. My consort ordered a nontraditional enchilada served hot in a cast iron pan with a cheesy red sauce poured over flat corn tortillas instead of the usual roll-ups. Side dishes of pinto beans and buttered rice complimented the dish. I selected the grilled fish tacos on corn tortillas with avocado and a house-made Pico. The perfectly pleasing fillets, flaky and flavorful, rested on three mini tortillas. After a squirt of lime, I devoured the trio. Satisfying our hunger, we had no room for the sopapillas and honey or the brown sugar flan which we've sampled in the past. Instead we sat and chatted with Matt Runkle, assistant manager, who told us his theory of running a successful restaurant, "My goal is to please the customer and leave my ego at the door." He went on to say, "I might be a certain type of person outside of the restaurant, but when I'm managing, it's all about the patrons." Lucky Sam Fox to have a manager like Matt running the show. When I saw the menu and the ambience, I was expecting an upscale, above average Mexican meal ( and service). Boy - was I disappointed! The drinks were the only half decent part of the meal. The service was a) Inattentive b) Rushed and c) arrogant ( one of the servers actually slammed the plate down and ran away without any eye contact. I had wanted to ask for a side of guac - but it took a whole 5 minutes before another server even came by. Then -'AFTER I had ordered the sides, it took another 10 minutes for me to get them. Simply unacceptable. And the chicken inside my quesadilla ? Burnt and chewy - not edible at all. I left most of it on the table . And asked for the cheque. Lo and behold - $7 for a side of guac and a $1 for sour cream. I asked my server 'So sour cream and guac are NOT standard sides with your quesadilla ?' And got a strong 'No' . Then, he brought back the bill. And informed me that they had 'removed' the sour cream charge . Lol - a whole dollar off my bill - for something that NO restaurant in the world charges for. Crap -'even chipotle doesn't charge for sour cream! Anyway - stupid place, stupid service , burnt food, okay drinks and okay interiors. Blanco Cocina + Cantina offers a fun, lively atmosphere that I really enjoyed! The place was bustling with happy patrons, and the staff was energetic and attentive. I loved the decor; it really added to the overall vibrant ambiance. Our waiter struck the perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing - he handled our table just fine. My only complaint was with the fajitas we ordered. They were a bit too charred - to the point where most of the vegetables were practically unrecognizable. I think my photo really captures how overdone they were. If they had been taken off the heat maybe a minute or two sooner, they would have been perfect. Overall, though, that was the only real issue we had, and honestly, it's forgivable. It didn't ruin the overall experience, which was very positive. I can't believe the experience we had at taco BLANCO TACO BILTMORE. From the second we walked in to the second we walked out we felt like we were the only guests in the place. I know good hospitality like the back of my hand. Ten is above and beyond. I would say this was one of the top 5 places I have ever been.. Not only for the food but for the experience they gave us. We had a starter that had shrimp with corn quesadilla. and for the entree we each had the beef enchiladas which are layered like lasagna are was awesome. My wife had a flour tortilla filled with Mexican cheeses, Pico de Gallo and carnitas served with rice and black beans. I took a to-go box of enchiladas home for left-overs and at the recommendation of (KATIE} I finished the next day by topping off with two lovely poached eggs. If I could rate Ten a 10 I would! I do not normally review restaurants, but I cannot stay silent this time. Blanco and Fox Restaurant Concepts had this yelp review removed from their account. The General Manger of this property, Eric Stevens, is still employed. I cannot comprehend how a corporation would keep a violent person in a position of power after putting his hands on an employee. It is absolutely SICKENING to see that they went a step further and DELETED the review entirely. This needs to be brought to the public's attention. I am concerned for the mistreatment of employees as this seems to have been completely swept under the rug. Who knows what is going on behind closed doors? Absolutely unacceptable. I'm giving this blancos tacos 5 stars because I am soooo in love with their al carte area outside of the restaurant. Sometimes I just want something quick and not wait around and go inside. It is so good! I love everything about it. The food and the lemonade and all of their options!! Im pretty sure the other scottsdale location doesnt have it only because I called for the hours and they had no idea what I was talking about. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy their inside food as well but when I'm with friends and need to sit down. They have a great happy hour selection and good margaritas. Despite the richness of short rib, I expected a bit of heat or bold seasoning--something you'd anticipate at a Mexican restaurant--but it seemed like they just added salt to the meat and called it a day. The chips and salsa, along with the El Charro beans, were similarly flavorless, lacking depth or even a hint of spice. Chopped chicken salad had barely any chicken and the mango was candied - not fresh. Chips and salsa were pretty good. Margaritas are pricey and too tart/limey without enough tequila. Ordered the Cadillac and instead of a Grand Marnier floater it was mixed it. Also, for the price the margaritas were mostly ice and in small glasses.
