This review has been a long time coming! I came here on a whim hoping to get a 45min touch up for my hair from a previous botched "balayage" at a salon in New York the week before thinking that it will be just a small fix. I booked with Maria, she took one look at my hair & texture and told me this is going to be a full session along with the reason why. She shown me areas of my hair that the hair stylist totally missed where I couldn't see myself. In addition, I told her I asked for money pieces/front swept bangs however, the previous hair stylist didn't blend it well at all. It was so choppy I was afraid it couldn't be salvaged. Mortified, I took her advice especially because this was going to be for my wedding. She reassured me that it can be fixed so, I booked a full session with her for the next day. Rest assured, the results were beyond what I imagined. Maria also gave me after care tips (I typically do not get that from hair stylists) so, you can tell how much her and her team cares about their clients. Unfortunately, I'm not from here, my now husbands family are. I don't think I will let anyone else touch my hair except for anyone at this salon. Whenever I come back to visit my in laws, I will most definitely make sure I book a session here as well! read more

I've always told myself that self care is the best way to love yourself. On a whim, I decided it's time to change up! At 2 AM in the morning, I decided to book an appointment online for a session at Blanco Salon and I did not regret it one bit . I've been following these ladies for awhile and everyone does such a great job. I decided to book an appointment with Misha on a saturday for a full Balayage. The salon was easy to find and parking was accessible. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a worker and the owner with such warmth. They seated me right away and asked me if I wanted any beverages. Misha quickly started on me and she welcomed me with such a smile. My hair has been dyed and DIY'd for the past year so she had to do a color correction as well. At first my hair was a bit too light but she went in again to make sure it's the color that I am comfortable with. She glazed it a few times because the owner wanted to make sure all of my reds were gone from my previous dye job. Although the prices are a bit high, you really do get what you pay for! My hair turned out great, surprisingly not dead and I love it. Not only that, at Blanco they let you have a complimentary glaze or whatever within a week if you are not happy with the results. This salon was God sent! I found Blanco Salon in a panic just a couple weeks before my wedding after my previous salon botched my balayage and did not accept me back for an appointment to fix my hair. When I walked into Blanco Salon, I told Maria my debacle and she reassured me and said "don't worry, we are going to give you wedding hair!". And boy did she deliver! Not only did she fix the color but she gave my curly hair a cut that I couldn't find in my 29 years of life (a layered cut without triangle head - curly hair girlies will get it). My hair had never looked better and I've already been a return customer a couple of times now with no end in sight. Maria is fantastic and tells you exactly what your hair needs to be healthy and look better than you can imagine. I did not have a good experience at Blanco salon. I went a couple weeks ago and when I initially booked my appt I asked for a partial balayage. The receptionist said she would book me for a full to ensure Maria had enough time to work on my hair. Fine- Makes sense, Im a new client. When I came in, Maria immediately voiced how terrible my hair was, brassy and choppy. She said "don't worry I will fix your hair and save you money." Mind you I told her that I only wanted a few face framing highlights. Not my whole head. Meanwhile, 7 bowls of bleach, a full balayage, color blend and low lights later I had to foot a 650$ bill. My mind was blown. There was no communication about what she was going to do and even worse I hate the color. Its an orange red and she left grays all along hairline. During the process she was telling about her new penthouse apartment, how she was going to bloomies after and how she hated working in "spanish salons versus white salons" It made me very uncomfortable. Came in with years of inconsistent "Professional" coloring which left my hair orange and dull. I needed a professional hair specialist/colorist to correct the damage done and restore my hair to its days of glory. Loved the professionalism, but yet funky fun vibe of this place. The whole experience was great. Misha was amazing. She made me feel comfortable coming into a new salon for me. I was nervous and doubtful of what I really wanted to accomplish with my haircut but she walked me through everything and made me feel at ease. I have very long hair and I have been highlighting it for a few years. I went to Blanco looking to get warm golden blonde highlights and a regular trim without layers. The place is very nice and I had a good experience there. Maria said my hair was horrible and whoever did it previously had not blended well (which is true, that's why I went to a new place). After my appointment my hair did look nice but I noticed it was breaking and the color was not what I showed or explained. She decided to do an icy blonde, almost white. I wanted warm, natural looking. It cost over $500 that day. The top layer of my hair was significantly thinner after the bleach (which never occurred previously) and the front half of my hair was almost non existent. Not even a week later the blonde around my face started to turn orange (think Cheeto orange) and patchy. I am very conscious of hair care as I made sure to stick with quality shampoos and conditioner for blondes. I went in after a few weeks and asked why this would happen even when I regularly used purple hair masks (40 minutes weeky with a shower cap to warm). She didn't seem to care. Came to the point where I asked for lowlights around my face to help mask the orange, that too faded within two weeks. As for the thinning it looks like someone took a razor to the front of my hair because of the chemical damage. Its been a while now and I am still trying to grow it back (looks very stringy in the front and almost thin). I will not be going back as it cost so much and caused so much damage. I do not recommend Blanco if you want healthy hair. read more
