I've should have known better. I purchased my vehicle a little over four months ago. After the first week I started hearing noise like my breaks were squeaking (after they said it was fresh breaks and rotors) took it to them and they said it was normal. the noise was consistent so I had my brakes changed MYSELF and the noise went away. NEXT shortly after that my check engine light came on took it to see what it was for, few codes came up for sensor,I called them to notify them and they told me they can't help me go though my warrant. Didnt fall through so I had get that fixed on my own . Not even a week later the engine light back on. Brought it back to the shop now it's a wiring issue. That isn't covered by warranty so a couple thousand bucks for that. Three days later the engine light back on. I can't catch a damn break with this car. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON!!!!!!! We begged for you to help and you refused. My husband almost died because of the car you sold him 30 days prior. And everyone agrees on that part. If he was dead would you have helped? I had to pick him up on the side of the road with my son who has austim who was hysterical to see his father like that. Beware of Shady Business Practices I recently had a very disappointing experience with Blasius of Middletown, and I feel compelled to warn others about their shady business practices. We agreed on a price for a vehicle, and after running hard credit checks and receiving approval for the purchase, I thought everything was settled. However, to my dismay, Blasius added over $1,300 in unnecessary fees at the last minute. These fees included charges for a redundant GPS tracker, which the RAM vehicle already had installed, and a $399 fee for an add-on to make the brake lights flash three times when the brakes are applied--a feature that costs only $25 on Amazon. Redundant GPS Tracker One of the most egregious charges was for a GPS tracker. This charge was completely redundant because RAM vehicles equipped with the Uconnect system already come with a built-in GPS feature. Uconnect provides comprehensive navigation and location services, making any additional GPS tracker unnecessary and an obvious attempt to charge customers for something they do not need. Brake Light Flasher Additionally, Blasius charged $399 for a brake light flasher that causes the brake lights to flash three times when the brakes are applied. This device is available on Amazon for just $25. Charging such an exorbitant amount for this simple add-on is not only unfair but also indicative of their exploitative practices. This behavior is exactly what the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) new Combating Auto Retail Scams (CARS) Rule aims to prevent. The CARS Rule, effective July 30, 2024, prohibits deceptive practices like bait-and-switch tactics and hidden fees. Under this rule, auto dealers must clearly disclose all costs and obtain informed consent from consumers for any add-ons. Violating this rule can result in significant penalties, including civil penalties of up to $50,120 per violation. Took my 2021 jeep wrangler in for an oil change after owning it for 8,000 miles (approximately) asked to get tires rotated and balanced. Didn't balance tires, took it from dealership. Was driving 70 mph and began to shake. No issues with vibrations prior to bringing in. They did not balance tires. They took it to town fair tire in middletown to get them balanced. They gave me a ride to town fair to pick it up. i took it out from town fair. Back on highway going 65 started to shake again. Brought it back to Blasius of Middletown. i was told they can't so any outside work and something else must be wrong with it. They put the tires back in the spot where they were prior to me bringing it in. They gave me copy of the extended warranty I had purchased and I left. My Biggest mistake was not reading the reviews first. I've been speaking to a sales associate about a car since Wednesday. I asked if anything is needed to secure the car he said no. I was scheduled to come down today/sat. To complete the purchase but because I look for I was away. I did the application the night before. this morning, the sales associate told me to wait on getting the approval before I come down and then he tells me the car sold and tries to put me in an alternate option with a different trim level. Well, I tried to overlook the obvious signs here and give Blasius the benefit of the doubt. That was obviously a terrible decision. I had reached out about a slightly used 2025 truck on their lot. The pictures were a touch dark but the truck looked great and it was what I was looking for. I called and asked if there were any issues, damage, the obvious things. I was told it was like new and just had very low miles. I told them I was driving 2 1/2 hours each way so I wanted to go through everything beforehand. That way, it worked for both of us and no one's time was being wasted. I was very honest about my trade and even went out of my way to describe a small ding and send them a picture of it. This way it was not a surprise when I got there and possibly effect the deal agreed upon. A deal was made and everything was good to go so I made the drive. Upon arriving, I saw the truck I was purchasing so I parked next to it and texted them that I was there. I started going around it to make sure everything was as it was supposed to be. Ding here, scratch here, dent there.. and then I get to the driver side and it looked like it had been hit on the drivers side door near the hinge. Obviously, it was never mentioned and they let me make the drive there anyways. They pretended to not know about it and then later said they had looked into having it fixed but their guy couldn't do it and if they had it fixed at a shop they would've charged more for the truck. They were unapologetic and refused to do anything at all to make it right. Then better yet, they blamed me for not asking for better pictures or a video. They said they gave me more for my trade in because they knew the truck had damage. This was all lies. They thought because I drove all that way, I would take it anyways and they could unload damaged goods. These guys unfortunately are your run of the mill snake oil salesmen. Bought a truck in November from them, sunroof started leaking 1 month after owning the truck they wanted to know nothing about it, I was given attitude on the phone when I called to see what they would do about it and basically told it's your problem now and they wouldn't be standing behind their vehicle. My experience here at Blasius started out fantastic, however I faced many issues right after receiving the vehicle I purchased that could never allow me to go back, or recommend them to anyone I care about. When purchasing the car, the process was smooth and effortless. The car had a cracked windshield that had just happened, however I wanted to take the car same day so they allowed a discount for me to get the windshield replaced myself. Car was purchased that day and was ready for pickup in the evening. This is when the problems started. 1. After the pickup, I drove the car home and during the drive I seemed to notice a small clunking sound I hadn't noticed on the test drive. The next day, I had my personal mechanic look at the car and diagnose it with a bad motor mount (see attached video of excessive engine movement). After reaching out to the dealer, they said they could not help me, and even accused me of doing something to the car to cause it. I could not believe the lack of integrity they showed towards me and that they would not help me get the car straightened out. I had only put 75 miles on the car at this point and had only had the car for 36 hrs. After many phone calls they refused to do anything. I am fortunate enough to have the skills to do the work myself and replaced the mount. I have attached pictures of the mount that came out. It is completely destroyed and has clearly been like this for a long time. I am very dissatisfied with how this went. 2. This car also supposedly went through a safety check, however when I did my own check for the basics, I found a flat spare tire, thank god I checked it before I needed it. I also complained about the tires seeming like they had low tread, they assured me they were good and claimed a tread depth of 7/32. I measured them myself to find them at 5/32, much less than their claim. 3. The dealer was nice enough to install my license plate, however they only secured it with one screw, so the first time I opened and closed the trunk, the plate tilted down and scratched my bumper! 4. Additionally, I was promised an interior detail before pickup which they did do, however they did a terrible job to say the least. In the attached pictures you can see how the steering wheel has grime on the back of it, the parking brake button is full of grime, the Audi emblem on the wheel has grime, and peanuts were found under the seat. This "detail" was not up to the standards I'd expect when spending as much on a car as I did for this one. Overall, I have to say I am quite disappointed that my experience was terrible only after buying the car, as that's when you cannot go back and you're stuck with the situation. Had the dealer owned up to the bad motor mount, I would have given them 5 stars. I fully understand things can be overlooked, but how you address the situation is everything. This motor mount was a safety issue that should have been caught before I even took the car. It left the car unable to properly drive, and it was blatantly obvious the car was like this when I received it due to the condition of the removed mount. I will not recommend them to anyone I know, AND I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK. My brother was considering an Infiniti q50 from them but I steered him to another dealer which sold him a very nice problem free car, and they helped him nicely throughout the process. This will not be the first costumer they loose due to my experience. I hope management will consider this case to improve for other customers in the future. No one should go through what I had to go through with this car. read more
