There was a scratch on it that we didn't see. I brought it to the service department, they fixed it with no concerns. Gave me a free loaner. You buy a Toyota because they last and the service department goes above and beyond to make customers happy. I have not always had the best sales person for a car but this Toyota dealership more than any others really treats a customer above and beyond. Two years - 25 thousand miles. READ the fine print. We were dumb, they tell you 2 yrs 25K but fail to mention that your car "23 Corolla only gets 4 oil changes. Hence I say READ the fine print because it IS mentioned there. We had gotten a couple of texts stating that our Toyota Care Ends 8/31/25 so I made the appointment. Anyway, my wife brings the car in for a 7:00 appt. Then gets a 200+dollar bill. She was surprised but paid. The advisor appeased her saying that the "tire rotation was still free this time". In the meantime the service advisor had texted me a video of the service. Kind of a neat way to keep the customer up to date. Picture of air filters and what work was done. The tire tread was still very good and the tech said that "no rotation was needed at this time." A service cannot be free if it isn't done to begin with. Since I was unaware of the 4 Oil Change Limit at that time, I tried to call "Oscar" and evidently the Service Department doesn't take calls until the Sales Department Opens at 9:00 so I was unable to talk to "Oscar" even though the Text Says "If you have any questions during your visit please contact your service advisor "Oscar Perez". I called the service Department at 9:00 and was asked who the service advisor was. I said "Oscar" the gentleman says "Oh Oscar isn't in today, give me your name and number and I'll have him call you when he is in". I hadn't said anything about what happened at that point, just that I had questions on the service, so at that time I said this needs to be taken care of now. I was put on hold, and he explained about the oil change being limited to 4 changes again. I told him I understand that NOW and that the 5th oil change is NOT free. I told him that this YELP review would be made. The call ended and later I get a call from "OSCAR" who wasn't working today, yet somehow was working. I'm looking at the reviews here and if I was a Dealer struggling with only a "2 Star" overall rating on yelp, I think it would have been worthwhile to give the oil change rather than "Even though your Toyota Care will be over" I'll rotate the tire next time for free". read more

They had the car I was looking for in stock, I know they typically go for MSRP and so there wasn't really any negotiation. I pushed them to run the financing numbers for me and they found me a terrible 6.99% rate. I got a much better rate with Consumer Credit Union (myconsumers.org) 4.59% for the same loan and 60 month instead of 82 month but the credit union dragged there feet so I figured I'd just refi as soon as I got the car. I later found out that the dealership lists cars in TruCar which, if they had told me this I would have been eligible for 3.99%. I called the credit union and they said no problem, we can make an exception if you just get the TruCar certificate from the dealer. Direct quote from Tashalay "what's that"? I took my Prius in for basic maintenance, after having repeatedly bad experiences at Hoffman Toyota in Simsbury. I was willing to drive a distance to try and find better service - and I did. From the moment we drove in and met the lovely gentleman who greeted us, and got our car ready to be moved to the service department, I knew we were in for a different experience. He could smile and knew how to greet other humans! This might sound simple, but at Simsbury this was not a given! The rest of the staff were helpful and kind as well. Waiting rooms can often be very unpleasant in general, but this one had several different sections, including a long counter if you want to get some work done. But the best area was outside, where we found a huge glider, complete with a table. It was a very pleasant wait to sit there on a spring day. I can't emphasize enough how happy I was to take the chance on Middletown, especially after my last nightmarish experience at Hoffman, where I had to ask for my car back 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and where they tried to lie to me about my car currently being worked on, when I walked around the back of the building and saw it still parked outside. will not fix a broken seat belt tensioner even though the secound replacement failed on a 5 year old certified used bought from the dealership back in feb of 2022 and in 2023 it needs it third driverside seatbelt. when clearly its a shitty design issue with the seat belt housing. A little of three weeks ago my mother and I drove from Boston to purchase of 2022 Toyota Tacoma. Our salesman was PAUL JIMENEZ. Let me just preface this by saying it was a nightmare during the process up until right now the only reason why I let my mom close a deal there. Was because she really wanted the truck. For starters, PAUL JIMENEZ had none of his paperwork in order. Our insurance agent was ready to communicate via phone and email. PAUL JIMENEZ made no effort to reach out to our agent to close a deal instead use me as a middleman on my phone to run around the dealership to find him to relay messages back-and-forth.. I was doing this for five hours. Without even paying attention to the current deal, he was trying to weasel other people into sitting down on the table to start a new sale.. he took his time to send important documents back-and-forth, knowing that our insurance company hours would be closing. The only reason the deal got closed was because I was sprinting around the dealership, looking for him, and then running to printers to print out his stuff while he's dealing with other people that did not call ahead of time that just walked in. He deliberately offered us two grand under what our trade-in value was. After we got the truck, they realized that they did not have a master key on them so they gave us a spare key and said that they would be sending a master key in the mail along with the registration. They never sent a master key. My mother had to go to a third-party in acquire one. They also do not include the mats as well as removed other miscellaneous components that are supposed to be included with the vehicle. It's gonna be coming up on a month and my mother does not have the registration mail to her. She's been on the phone with everybody and apparently. PAUL JIMENEZ waited a week to send in the paperwork and then messed that up and then took his time to send it to God knows where. Every single time we have called in regarding the key, the mats registration, etc. he has consistently avoided talking to us so we had to talk to management instead. I was told they "LOST THE CAR" before I could get my plates and the rest of my stuff (stereo, amp, subs) but they would "take care of everything" for me. Now I am being told I am responsible for $300++ of parking tickets (issued nov 2019, collecting fees) for a car I haven't seen or in two and a half years. We just bought a used Toyota from Otto and I can't say enough nice things about him. He treated us like we were buying a brand new car instead of a used vehicle. The vehicle, itself, is 15 years old but looks brand new. I was told they don't usually take in vehicles this old but made an exception due to the pristine condition of the car. We were given the Car Fax and the maintenance and all the repairs that have been done on the car. Luke did all the paperwork for us including the transfer of the plates from our old car to this one. Our insurance agent sent the new card to Luke and handled that for us. It was the most pleasant and easiest car purchase we have ever made, and we have purchased MANY cars, old and new, over the years!!!! I had to have some work done that needs oem parts and if I bought them from online Toyoda it would be $799 and this dealership charged $1000 for parts and $145 an hour for labor. So I spent well over $500 on labor. Normally I'd have a family friend do work on the suv but he couldn't do this job in the time I needed it. This dealership: I know has bad reviews for many reasons but I tried them out and they did the work right. I had it inspected by my family member n friend who works on cars. The ride is smooth and runs good. The only thing besides the cost of $1500 was the wait. I'd go here again if NEEDED ONLY. Some jobs need the dealership if other garages won't use oem and warranty the parts. Also I knew ahead of time what needed to be done and I asked for just that. They didn't give the inspection list that they normally do which surprised me. But on paper it said they did. Check your invoice and read the small print always even if their in a rush to get you out. read more

I saw a 2022 Tacoma on 11/5/21 on Middletown Toyota's website and called to confirm availability. I spoke with Gena Simmons and was told the truck wouldn't be in till mid-December. I was fine with that. I asked about pricing and was told that I would be charged MSRP for the vehicle. I was pleased with that considering Tacoma's are sought after anyway and with the current shortage, most other dealerships are charging several thousand over MSRP. I had her email me the out the door price including all charges. Vin etching was included in the itemized pricing and I told her I didn't want it. She said that sales manager would suggest I get it but to discuss it when I go through receiving and signing the sales contract. I said that was fine and gave her my credit card number for a $1,000 down payment. She said my card would NOT be charged until I signed the sales contract which she said I should receive it in a day or two. Early the next day, 11/6/21 I received the sales contract through email from Otto Ficken and the sales contract had the vin etching included. I emailed him back immediately and told him I didn't want it and to please remove it and send a new contract over. Meanwhile I checked my credit card and I was charged the $1,000 deposit even though the contract had not been signed yet. I emailed him on 11/7 two more times (not realizing they were closed on Sunday so I shouldn't have expected a response that day), again on 11/9, again on 11/11 and lastly again on 11/12. Never once did I receive a response from him. I also tried calling but every time I called, he was with a customer and never returned my call. I decided at this point I did not want the vehicle and tried calling the dealership on 11/12 to cancel. I was told the owner is the only one that can cancel this transaction and he was "on vacation". It seems odd to me that he is the only one that can do this and if he is away on vacation, I have to wait for his return to cancel? Frustrated as I was, that same day I decided to just dispute the charge on my card with Chase. They said they would put a hold and I wasn't responsible for the charge. They would give the merchant two weeks to respond but the charge wouldn't be removed from my account until two weeks was up. Also on 11/12 I decided to email Matthew Martin who is the "General Sales Manager". This guy was the absolute icing on the cake. I decided to let him know that his staff has been completely unresponsive and because of it I didn't want to move forward with the purchase. His response was "I see you asked for vin etching to be removed and you can get this cheaper elsewhere. I have moved the Tacoma to another customer. I will advise our credit card company of your cancelation. Have a great day." He also didn't seem to care that his staff was completely unresponsive and I got the notion that he was sticking up for their poor communication over me, the customer. Meanwhile the date is now 11/21/21 and the charge remains on my credit card. Clearly Matthew didn't "advise our credit card company of your cancelation". I ended up going to Colonial Toyota which I should have done in the first place. We asked about financing at first, but once the loan came back with a huge down payment, we said no we will pay cash outright. We had 3 different purchase orders. Msrp on the truck went up on them, they added a warranty after we said no warranty, and changed everything on us. Today, I get notice from capital one, that my husband and I have a loan through capital one for the truck we were looking at. We never got the truck, never finalized the paperwork, never registered the truck, so how do we have a loan. We were told to leave the dealership after we asked them to remove the extended warranty from the paperwork and to put the price of the truck where it originally was! They stayed in touch with me and were very patient when I was calling to check the status of my order even though the supply chain issues made it impossible to predict when I would receive my car. Unethical dealer that does not know what they are doing & when I confronted them for the mess they had made & return the car for breach of contract, the owner Joe had threatened to call the police on me. I bought a 2019 SUV from this dealer along with extended warranty of 7 years and 100,000 miles & walked away with assurance and paperwork showing that. This was the only reason I bought the car. They even said that it was certified & also gave me a certification number. After 3 months I discover that not only it is not certified but there is no warranty coverage on it. This too I discovered when I called Toyota Financial Service & asked for paperwork if my warranty coverage as I had not received it despite it being 3 months. When I called the dealer, they transferred me to 4 different persons whereby each kept passing the ball. Finally a guy called Jeremiah, who was helpful offered to provide some assistance & gave me the certification number and the warranty details. Called Toyota Financial Serbices & they said that certification is not valid. So I decided to come to the dealership in person & return the car for breach of contract. Instead of accommodating, acknowledging their mistake & finding a solution, the owner storms in & threatens to call the police. Go ahead Joe, I want the police to come. I am waiting. One of his helpers offered to give me new 125000 miles & 7 year warranty instead which I refused because now I do not trust this unethical dealership. I want them to take the car back.i will go to court for breaching of contract & selling me a car on false pretenses. I will also file a complaint to Toyota. STAY AWAY!! This business has no business being open. I was working on a deal and they said I would need another $1,000 to get to the payment I wanted. I said no thank you I'm all set. My salesman said hold on a minute and went out back to talk with someone. He returned and said we can get you to that number if I put $1,000 down that day so I did. I returned and signed the paperwork a couple of days later thinking everything was good. They said they will register my vehicle within the 7 day allowed. On the seventh day I texted the salesman at 8:22AM and he said I'll check into it. He texted me at 12:14PM saying someone was working on it and they will get back to me. 5:20PM I texted him back and he said I can call the manager myself and gave me his number. 5:25PM the manager called me and said they didn't charge me enough sales tax and I owe them another $1,000. He said because it's there fault they would pay half. I said I would like my money back and he said he will get that going for the following morning. No call the following morning so I called at 2:00PM and asked what was going on. He said he talked to the owner and he said he's not going to give my money or trade back and I can pay the taxes on my own and register it. To show her sincerity and good intention she places a $1000 deposit NOT $100 on a vehicle that is one state over (New York) she's told, and will be delivered in day or two at the furthest out a week. The need for the vehicle is vital for work at Harford Hospital. She's a frontline worker (nurse) and her latest vehicle had been totaled while she'd been away in Georgia. Was Middletown was fully aware and informed of this? Yes. The story changes weekly. Two weeks became 4, 4 became 6, and the latest was we're expecting it by the end of the month, but no guarantees. It's a nationwide issue she's told. What your neglecting to have the vehicle shipped?. You couldn't have had the Reg or temporaries slapped on it and had one of your employees drive it here? Now she makes them aware its costing her in excess of $280 per week for a rental vehicle and she needs the vehicle. Again best we can do, the holdup is the transitory chain. But we'll rent you a vehicle for $250 a week. Might you be genuine and offer a loaner until we can deliver? A lot of incentive here! For what? To not move on the ordered and promised vehicle that might or might not be here in a week? a month? And make and take advantage of a unsuspecting trusting young Asian Lady. So we find a dealer in Norwich and she buys a Camry from Charles Toyota. After another sleepless night and day she finally gets a car. Now my daughter the Unfortunate trusting young lady she is informs Middletown Toyota of her purchase out of desperation. And assumes they Middletown Toyota will do the MORALLY right thing and reimburse her Money. But not so fast. The small print which was never properly disclosed or reviewed by the sales Deceptor Sokol Etemi. It gives the dealer authority to take up to 120 OR MORE days provide her the vehicle. Knowing this she wouldn't have agreed to this because as we all know for the potential of multiple negative impacting reasons. She clearly said that to Middletown on all contact conversations. Long /short. They've refused to reimburse my daughters money and basically have sold their souls as the Baseball-Card-to-Kids dealership we and now you know they are. I have been to the Middletown Toyota body shop on 2 occasions. The first time my car was 1 month old and Toyota didn't have the parts, causing my rental not to be paid in full...it was there 2 weeks longer then expected. The owner wouldn't go to bat for me against the insurance company of the driver who hit me! He had the balls to tell me I had to pay the balance and fight for myself! I'd rather drive further then give this dealership any business. read more

This review is regarding the service department and I would give zero stars if possible. Came in for routine service and was told they found a problem that was so severe that they could not allow me to drive off the lot with the car and if I did they felt the car was so unsafe they would have to call the police. I should have let them but I fell for it and told them to fix the problem. They said I would have to leave my car for a couple of days. So I rent a car, pay them 3 grand, and when I call for updates on my car no one will call me back and this happens for days. 5 days later I finally get my car back. I seriously question in retrospect whether anything was even wrong with my car. read more

Would never buy a car here again... what they promised "to throw in" ended up not to be the case. They also crossed out handwritten "etching " telling me they would "give" it to me only to find it preprinted on bottom for $169. Also stated it was Avalon model Touring which really ended up to be hybrid of XLS/Touring. This meant that leather trim everywhere that the driver sees but plastic seats! read more

Do not come here unless you want to waste your time and be involved in the games they play. They lied to me about the availability of a car for 24 hours. After several inquiries with 3 different people- they told me the car was available to be seen. However, they had actually sold it and didn't tell me. Once I arrived they kept making excuses for why I couldn't see the car and tried to convince me to buy a different car that smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. To top it off, their response when I was visibly upset after they finally admitted to me that the car I was originally there to see had been sold, was that if I really want a car I should be ready to call and pay for it with a credit card over the phone without seeing or driving it first. Awful. Cannot wait to read their response to this- I'm sure it will be another tall tale. read more

Does not know product being sold. I contacted customers service to get a quote on a 2016 4x4 SR5 tacoma 6 cylinder 6ft bed model that Toyota advertises on there site. I was told that model with a 6ft bed does not exist and I would have to buy the sport model to get a 6 ft bed that cost $3,000 more that the SR5. I was able to find the SR5 6ft bed at several delears in the state. I finally purchased a 2016 4x4 SR5 tacoma 6 cylinder 6ft bed below MSRP a Manchester dealer. read more
