Where to start with this review... We have been ordering from Blessings every couple of months for pick-up for years and the food has generally always been good. I am writing this review over the horrible service we received on Thursday 3/13, ordered food online at 5:15 pm, drove to them at 5:40 pm and they were closed, with a sign on the door to call another phone number. When i called they said they were redoing their floors and the food was being made at his sister's restaurant in Newark and asked if i wanted to drive to pick-up and i said no, i don't want to drive and additional 10 mins down to Newark. Gentleman said he would deliver. The next 3 hours were texts back and forth with sorry they are busy, and they were nearby, when clearly they weren't "Very sorry, today, but my sister special cooked for you, today, you will see" $85 worth of food finally arrived at 8:15 PM, it was hot (they just made it...), however 1 dish was missing altogether, 2 curry dishes were virtually curry free, could hardly tell there was any curry at all. Gentleman asked if we wanted the missing dish delivered the next day and i say no we want it tonight. Well, that took another 2 hours to get delivered, arriving at 10:30 PM. Suffice to say we will never order from Blessing again. Understand sometimes businesses are impacted by repairs, etc. They would have been better off closing for the day/night. 4-26-23. Blessing used to be awesome. I ordered today, over an hour wait for delivery. The Orange Chicken which I have ordered over 100 times in my life from here and many different Chinese restaurants. This was by far the most disgusting, worst Orange Chicken I have ever had. It was mush. It was like there was no chicken in the flour. It was Un-eatable. The Shrimp Mei fun was taste-less. Finally the crab Rangoon's were different than normal. All shell , little cheese inside, though what was in the shell was ok. But overall. Waste of money and my stomach aches. I will NOT be ordering from here ever again. Ordered online (and confirmed) via grubhub. When I arrived - the door was locked despite the open sign. I called the restaurant and they said that the cook went out to make a delivery. Apparently the cook is also the delivery driver. Waited 10+ minutes for him to return and then another 15 minutes for him to cook my order. I tried this Chinese restaurant for the first time ever on 1/18/24 based off of Yelp reviews. I actually used an online order website link off of this restaurants webpage called Beyond Menu. Menu looked good but the prices a bit high. I ordered 2 apps, 1 combo and 2 entrees for $68.00 which included a $5.00 delivery tip. I placed my order online at 6:06pm and my delivery was estimated to arrive within 30min. I also added some special instructions to my order in a space provided. Ex. Please pan fry and do not deep fry my wontons. Leave my order at front door and call my cell to let me know it's there. Please do not knock or ring doorbell. By 7pm, an hour later my food still had not been delivered. I called Blessing Chinese and was told that the manager handled all online orders and would have to call me back. I was not happy as I did not find that acceptable. Another half hour passed and no call back. I called the number for the Beyond Menu website since they were processing my credit card payment and to my surprise they answered immediately. I spoke with Mark and he was very apologetic and most helpful. He called the owner of Blessing Chinese and called me back within minutes. He said my order would be delivered in less than 5 minutes and apologized again. I went to my front door to wait and it was now after 8:00pm. The delivery guy pulled up, began to turn into my driveway but then stopped and hopped out of car leaving it sticking out into the middle of my 2 lane busy street. Cars couldn't get by and were beeping their horns and chaos ensued. I was embarrassed, angry and starving! Food was ice cold, super oily and greasy, Jeff was tough and chewy and it all just tasted eh, ok. None of my special instructions were acknowledged! One of the containers leaked all over the inside and outside of the delivery bag. It was a mess. I was beyond disappointed and totally disgusted. Never, ever, ever again will I order from Blessing Chinese Restaurant. I love and depend on Yelp Rewiews but the critiques got it very wrong this time. read more

Ordered take out food from this place beef w broccoli, Chinese and Shanghai rolls. The 'beef' was dry n tasteless and drown in sweet not' garlic' sauce. A very poor standard of food considering the cost of $30 ++. We had two bites and disposed of the remaining mush. Needless to say I will not be ordering from there again. read more

I just moved to the area. I read the 4 star reviews & decided to try it. The food tasted like leftovers for yesterday. The egg roll had pepper in it. Yuck .. the spare ribs were covered in a red glaze & were so dried out & favorless. Like eating shreds of beef jerky.. The chicken fried rice had 7 small strips of chicken & the rice was overcooked & not fluffy. If your going to serve day old food make sure you mention that on the menu. Worst Chinese food ever. I've always seen Blessings restaurant and wasn't interested. Last night I ordered Singapore Chow Mei Fun, Sweet & sour pork and Crab sticks. In a moment of hangry-ness, I was rushed to pick a place that was close and would deliver fast. Based on reviews I decided to give them a chance. I ordered boneless spare rib combo, sesame chicken combo, and crab ragoons. The crab ragoons were great, delivered nice and warm with a good amount of filling. The meats were both really good as well, a big quantity and the sauces weren't over powering. One thing I wish was better was the rice. It seemed to be reheated or used a lot of oil. I would have like it to have more veggies and pork because it was mostly just rice. The service was great from ordering on the phone and getting it delivered promptly. read more

Food was nothing special I was in New Jersey for work and stopped in to crab a quick lunch. Well the lady at the register made sure it was longer than it needed to be. The menu has numbers next to the menu item so i ordered by number and she kept asking me what's that? I had to give her the menu number and a description of the item. Blessing Chinese restaurant is an easy 5 star rating when we are talking about take out chinese. Ordering on the phone is simple & sweet and the amount of time it takes for the food to be delivered is the normal 30-35 minutes (never longer than an hour). We've been trying to find amazing Chinese food since moving here and Yelp led us here.... But dang. The food was well priced, and the workers were clear and friendly, so that's great. But the food.... We ordered crab rangoons, general Tsao and boneless spare ribs combos (comes with pork fried rice and an eggroll). The crab rangoons came with a sweet sauce and they were pretty good- a little chewy though. The egg rolls were also good, crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. But the chicken was awful... Not chicken, it was like filler. Gooey and spongey and not right. It was the worst I've ever tried. The ribs were alright, very hard to chew, though. Because of the chicken situation, I don't think we will be back. We will continue our search for amazing Chinese food. :( read more

We've been ordering from various places and then decided to expand our search to Belleville. The egg drop soup was thick on the broth, but very light on the egg. And, does any restaurant serve real fried noodles anymore or just those horrible cardboard-like noodles in the little bag? We ordered the fried dumplings which were very thick dough dumplings and some pink mystery looking meat inside. Sauce was meh. The worst disappointment were the entrees. My other half ordered the spare rib dinner (as he always does from Chinese restos) and they were terrible. Sauce was sweet tasting. Even I usually like to pick at his ribs and took one bite and was done. I ordered the Chicken Mai Fun. Barely any chicken and the chicken that was in there had a funny texture (almost spongy).
