I've been…read morepondering this for a few weeks as I've worked on my ability to talk about my dog without having a breakdown. I initially reached out because my sister wanted to gift me with some professional photos of me and my soul dog, Champ, for Christmas. Rose responded to my inquiry almost immediately and we were taking about arranging a time for the shoot when Champ, at the age of 16, suddenly took a turn for the worse. I tearfully let Rose know that Champ wasn't going to make it to the weekend. The vet and I could only really count on making him comfortable for one night so that my Mom could be there for us as he went to sleep. Rose and Tim found time in their schedule to fit us in early. When they arrived it was like welcoming friends into my home and Champ was happy to see them and work with them as best he could in his condition. They were warm, kind, and understanding. Their warmth kept me from having a breakdown during the shoot and they caught some beautiful pictures of my best boy that really captured what a sweet soul he was. I will forever be grateful for these two. I have beautiful pictures that have been such a comfort while I'm grieving the loss of my best friend. I can't recommend these two enough. They'll be my go to photographers for any photography I need in the future. Thank you so much Rose and Tim for being there for us. We have used this team for headshots and family photos and were delighted with the results. Furthermore, other family members have used them for their big day events. What impressed me is their ability to scout fun locations, as well as putting in time to get to know a recommended site. And funny! Rose is wonderful at herding large groups of people and keeping everyone amused. I've also attended fundraiser events where they have volunteered their services. It's fun to watch them work! They gave us the opportunity to come and meet her and her parents who are on site. When we picked her up we were given all paperwork for vet visits, shots, food and feeding schedule, just everything possible including a christmas ornament of her newborn foot. These puppies are so well cared for and loved. We could tell when we first walked in that these puppies were part of the family and very so loving and just want to cuddle. They kept in regular contact with us with updates and photos of our new puppy. When we got her she was absolutely perfect!.. everything about her was perfect. Have been a long time client of Pet-Agree, for training classes with several dogs (even a foster…read moredog) and boarding/day care. We don't go as often as we used to, but the staff still remembers us; they've had some long-term people there for as long as we've been going, 11 years. Owner/Trainer Karen Smith is just a lovely lady. She's extremely good at what she does, and has a good sense of humour (definitely a plus when working with dogs). Though she's all about positive reinforcement, that doesn't mean a dog doesn't learn there's a consequence to a bad/unwanted behavior. She makes the classes interesting and fun and she educates herself, and her staff, on new training methods and things to try with the dogs. That's fabulous for those of us who have taken multiple dogs through the various levels of classes over time. It would get boring if we weren't as enthused as our dogs; they'd pick up on that negativity. We've done private lessons with a couple dogs who needed more than they could get in a group scenario; one who hadn't been socialized as a puppy and was afraid of a dust bunny never mind people. It took a year working with Karen, but it was glorious to see that dog blossom. Not only did we do basic obedience, behavior modification, lots of desensitizing, but Karen educated me back then on what makes a good dog food, and how some ingredients were thought to affect behavior. And she introduced me to herbal remedies as well. It was a complete, successful, program. She is a wonderful trouble shooter when you're having a particular issue with your dog. If one thing doesn't work to resolve, she'll suggest something else. And Karen or her assistants, are always available by phone when you have questions between sessions. They would write summary notes of your lesson so you didn't have to try and remember it all. I hope they still do that because those are handy to keep on file to refer back to over time. You just have to be willing to do the homework and then the results speak for themselves when you have a dog that is a pleasure to live with and for people to meet in public. It's been invaluable with our Rottweilers - they've been breed ambassadors and shown people the true nature of the breed - oversized lap dogs! Our dogs love going to daycare and they don't even mind boarding for a few nights. The staff get to know the dogs and will assess to determine which other dogs might be good playmates. Of course it varies depending on the dogs that come in day to day, but they know the regulars and who might be compatible with whom. They get regular rest periods, and are monitored for stress. Some people criticize the set up of the multiple play yards and what they feel is not enough staff to supervise, or leaving collars on. I understand those criticisms, and know that accidents can happen quickly, but in the time we've been using Pet-Agree, never heard of it happening there. They're doing something right. The place is looking a little less glossy the last few years, and they don't have webcam abilities, as some trendier places do, but it's always clean and full of lots of friendly smiles - human and canine. :)

Update: 6 years later I still love this groomer. Sadly, we moved out of state too far for them to…read moregroom our dog. After 2+ years I found another groomer but they still aren't as attentive to our requests as Pet-Agree.

That said, we were still able to enjoy some fresh air amid the towering trees. A N I M A L S: Most of the animals we saw were birds. We didn't get to see any demos, but we did enjoy admiring the beautiful creatures at our own pace. Most memorably, we saw an owl up close! It was truly beautiful, and my children were in awe of the animals (and saddened by some of their stories). K I D F R I E N D LY A S P E C T S: there is an indoor section with lots of kid-friendly activities (dress up, x-ray and pretend vet toys, etc). There are also educational materials for adults in this section, making it a good place for a parent to bring children. I attended an event at the Audubon Society in Falmouth a few months ago and the Center for Wildlife…read morewas featured for their wildlife education and rehabilitation work, so we decided to go check it out. It's a really special place--the species there are either in the process of getting medical treatment or have been deemed unsuitable for living in the wild. The welcome center has turtles and snakes and the habitat area outside is for birds, mostly birds of prey. There are some really beautiful owls, falcons, and merlins. When we arrived, they had a turkey vulture out while her habitat was being cleaned and the woman holding her was presenting and answering questions about her. This is an fantastic place to visit; it's possible to see everything at a leisurely pace in under an hour, and it's nice to know that the nominal entrance fee ($10/person) goes toward the excellent rehabilitation and education work happening here.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would…read more I was driving back from a trip from Portland and heading back home to Massachusetts. It was a very hot day, and my cat vomited and started panting heavily. I was frazzled, found Eliot Veterinary Hospital in a Google search, and got there as fast as I could. At first I was told they couldn't see my cat because they weren't an emergency vet, but when I said I was concerned about driving the distance to the emergency vet, luckily they were willing to take a look at my cat. Everyone at the office was very kind, caring and professional. Dr. Devlin gets the biggest shoutout though. She came right over to me and had a great what I call bedside manner... I know I wasn't in a bed, but I mean she got down on the floor to speak to me and was very calm, kind and thorough... not running in in a rush and giving me 30 seconds of time like some doctors do. They were very quick to get everything done even though I of course did not have an appointment, and they kept me updated constantly which was great. They were very patient and easy to talk to and made sure I understood what my options were and what was happening. Dr. Devlin again sat on the floor and asked if I had any questions. This meant the world to me.... She was not rushed at all and really showed that she cared. She answered my questions and continued to be very calm and helpful. Thankfully my cat was fine, and I really appreciated that they gave me ice packs, dish towels to wrap them in, and pee pads for the journey home. Dr. Devlin herself left me a voicemail later to ask if we got home safely, and they sent me emails with info about the visit and saying to reach out if I had any questions. Considering it was a horrible situation that I would never wish on anybody, it couldn't have gone smoother. Thank you, Eliot Veterinary Hospital! Mama Kitty and I are so appreciative!
