Great selections of drinks it was nice and cozy inside and the outdoor was really pretty. We sat at the bar this time around. Staff was really nice and easy to talk too. I had some Bourbon Bread Pudding- highly recommend it was so good and warm and yummy. Parking was a little crazy like every place down town. First I was concerned we wouldn't find a place to eat, then I was concerned the food wouldn't be good at the place we could get a seat, but finally we ran into our tour guide from a few days earlier, so we knew we were in the right spot. I am a sucker for avocado toast and a lifelong fan of mad and cheese. Blind Tiger made both happen for me that day at lunch. The avocado toast was not super filling, but it was yummy. The mac and cheese was the best baked mac and cheese I've ever had. It's not easy to do right. This iteration was the perfect blend of creamy and... is "solid" the word? Whatever. It was delicious. Went here on a recommendation from another bartender. I was slightly hung over and their duck confit sandwich paired with truffle fries was exactly what I needed! Huge wait for a table but we just went in the back outside and there were places to sit that didn't require a reservation. We stopped in for a quick bite and a drink. The place was fairly busy but we were able to find a spot at the bar, and I'm glad we did rather than wait for a table because we got to hang out with the bartender, Duncan, who was awesome and then his dad who came in a little later and sat next to us. Super welcoming and Duncan's cocktail recommendations were spot on. We didn't really have any expectations one way or another when we came in. We read some reviews and decided to stop in pretty much because it was near the Exchange and because they claim to be the oldest bar in Charleston (how can you resist, right?). Anyway, our quick bite consisted of smoked chicken wings, truffle fries and a sandwich. All of them were great. I'm pretty picky about my wings, and these did not disappoint. The bottom line: This is a great bar with really good food. It seems like it gets pretty busy between locals and tourists, so plan accordingly. read more

Food quality has drastically gone down over the years. My favorite thing was the chicken sandwich and now it is very small and completely different. Our waitress asked my boyfriend if he wanted fries with his sandwich and turns out they were $6 extra. And they charge a credit card surcharge?? Seriously awful, this is my second time there. The server was the most unpleasant person ever. We waited 20 minutes to get greeted. We ordered drinks plus extra ice. 15 minutes later I hit up to go to bar to get ice myself and server was behind bar and said she would bring it. She did, but literally dumped it on table and walked away without a word. My college age daughter who works in service even said it was awful. We didn't complain but not a chance in hell I'd go back there. I will say it started rainy hard and there was another server who was killing it and working hard. We wanted to give our tip to her. We stopped in for a late night drink here since the options are pretty limited after 11pm. They don't make any cocktails, This establishment is meant for someone who wants a beer or whiskey Neat. The tap "Espresso martini" was awful and they should just take it off the menu. We left after one drink because the staff wasn't welcoming, the bartender was more worried about flirting with the guy at the end of the bar and didn't check on us once but, neither did any of the other staff that came in and out of the bar as we sat there. Hopefully the service is better during the day because I wouldn't recommend it late night. With the cherry on top there is a liquor tax, hospitality tax and sales tax.. never heard of a hospitality tax but seems like they want to Nickel and dime you, very tacky. read more

This place is a can't miss here! Their food was absolutely phenomenal. Steak frites are a staple food here in Charleston it seems and this place did not miss. The steak is crispy on the edges and tender on the inside, with a tart bbq-y sauce that complimented the fries and steak super well. I got the duck confit sandwich and it was the best duck sandwich I have ever had. Flavors were amazing. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have Mocktails so I got a ginger beer with lime instead. Husband got a Mach 5 cocktail and said it was good. 5 stars for the patio and buffalo cheese curds alone! I honestly don't think I've ever sat inside at the Blind Tiger. This bar so reminds me of my college years and is a fantastic place for groups. Nine of us were downtown to play Clued Up. We got hungry and thirsty in the middle of the game and popped into BTP. It was packed but we were able to get the big front table outside. It was perfect! We then ordered an array of apps and I still want to go back down there right now for more of those buffalo cheese curds. One of the best things I've eaten this 2020.
