We were looking for a place to get some brunch on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm and were facing waits of 50 min-1hr at other places. We passed by the Blind Tiger and decided to try it out, and we were not disappointed! There is an outdoor patio in the back where we were seated and I recommend asking to sit outside. We were seated right away in the shade under a fan and it's a cool ambience out back. There is a rustic brick wall, water features, palms, and string lights. It's a millennial hipster's dream with tons of instagram opportunities. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the BLT Benedict. The Bloody Mary was perfectly spicy, just the way a good Bloody Mary should be! It was garnished with pickled okra, pickled shrimp, and a green olive. The BLT Benedict is delicious and just the right amount of food. It comes with pork belly, tomato, and arugula, and of course poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. The pork belly was fantastic and the eggs were poached perfectly. My friend got the avocado toast and loved it. It comes with pickled shrimp and is a unique and delicious spin on the dish. The worst costumer service ever ! The staff is horrible, avoid this bar. You enter the place and it smells like stale urine. The staff is very rude and young in age and wear dirty t shirts. You order food and it never comes. Very often the waiters forget to order your food, your left sitting there waiting for your non existent food order. The staff drinks and they do drugs on the job. The food arrives cold and small portions, over priced stale beer as well. The management sucks , they double charge your credit cards to make more money, the place is going under and can't keep up paying there bills. So make sure to check with your credit card company, Lots of credit card fraud and staff overcharges. Better and more reputable bars in town. read more

Good food. Came for happy hour...which they did not honor according to their website. Their website states house wines, house wells, and house local drafts are $5 from 4-7pm. I get my check and have been charged regular price. When I ask about it, the waitress goes to consult the manager and says it only applies to a "selection" of the above categories. My husband and kids sat on their back patio earlier this week and had lunch. We had the best time and the food was delicious. My husband had the chefs special, I had wings and brussel sprouts and we shared the truffle fried and cream of mushroom soup. It was all so good! Our server was super sweet and great with the kids...kindly made sure the kids food got out quickly and just, in general, gave us great service! We went there several years back for dinner and drinks with friends and didn't remember just how good it was! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Charleston! read more

This is one of the first, Speak Easy hitting Charleston during prohibition. Locals from Broad Street frequent this spot as well as a story of two apparitions. One a woman bartender appearing at closing time and a dog roaming around at various times. Really a fun place to be. Meals are very good. Burgers are wonderful! I really regret not coming here first. We went to other restaurants and only stopped in for a drink but after seeing how amazing the food look, we had to stay and order a few things. We only had a short stay at Blind Tiger, but I was impressed by the kitchen staff. The venue itself looks very nice and the seating and service was okay, but the bar is also seating in front of the kitchen so you can watch the chefs prepare your food. The food is very good with relatively cheap prices for the rare and or exotic ingredients they offer with their dishes. I was most impressed by their variety. The food itself tastes just as good as it sounds, though the proportions might be a little small or not as filling as some hearty comfort food, but they have such unique dishes, that it left me wanting to go back to try everything on their menu. We had the dry-rub smoked wings, which were very flavorful and went well with their paired "Alabama Sauce", and we had the sampler plate which had duck-cracklins, sausage with stone ground mustard, duck with fruit jam, and toasted rusk. We weren't able to get a full entree, but I was impressed by the quality of the appetizers. In a place like Charleston where there are tons of amazing places to stop, I must say the Blind Tiger is one that I would recommend stopping at, even if just for a drink and an appetizer. read more

We stumbled on this place and are so glad. First, if you were born in the 70s, the music is the best part! Second, the food. Sitting by the kitchen, we can that all the veggies are fresh. We saw the scallions cut up and turn out on our food. The menu is all Gourmet pub food -- cool ans creative items. My family and I stopped by for dinner last night for a last and only night in Charleston. To be 100% honest, we were desperate to find a location by us to eat at, since we did the longest of walks from upper King St all the way to the river by Rainbow Row. We were exhausted and starving with an 8, 6, 3, and 1 yr old. Blind Tiger Pub just so happened to come up on my map that was close to us, on our walk back up north to our hotel. I called before-hand to make sure we could get seated right away and that they didn't have a problem with us bringing kids. No problems. Unfortunately for us, the only tables they have are high-top tables, which isn't the end of the world, but we had an infant. It wasn't until midway through our dinner that I realized that they had high-top high chairs! Oh well...we buckled her in our stroller and fed her like that. We ordered 2 kids meals for the kids to eat - a cheeseburger + fries, and my wife and I shared a pub burger with parmesan fries. We did not have any have high expectations of the food. The scene is definitely more geared to a non-family, college crowd, so we didn't imagine the food being great...but...the pub burger was awesome. Buttery, juicy, great flavor, great bread. The garlic parmesan fries were crispy and full of flavor. They served water in a glass bottle with glasses, but unfortunately it wasn't chilled and didn't come with any ice. That sucked, since we were dehydrated and wanted ice cold water to drink. The wait staff was nice, face-masked up and all, but didn't really come back to check on us much. I had to go ask for more ketchup. Not a big deal. It was a unexpected great visit and glad we found this place spontaneously. read more

Came to the Blind Tiger after a Ghost Walking Tour and I was really expecting this to be a tourist trap, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Tiger Punch as a drink and it was tasty. The margarita are okay. Then my friend ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries. I really do not care for fries, but if they are in front of me I'll try one. These fries were some of the best I have ever had. I couldn't stop taking her fries. If you could order one thing from here order the Parmesan Truffle Fries! They are perfectly crispy. Great experience here last Thursday. Went here with my brother and wife and it was packed so we ate at the bar. We shoulda called for reservations, but didn't think it would be packed late on a Thursday night. I had the chicken avocado club and the bar version of a Mule, both absolutely delicious. I also had some brussel sprouts. My brother got the steak and frites and my wife got some duck sandwich. I tried my brothers steak, absolutely amazing. Server was amazing and made some great drinks. After a local recommended the Blind Tiger my wife and I decided we would grab a drink here. We came in and waited to sit at bar, we were told high tops were for full service only. A large group left the bar within minutes and we sat waiting for service but the bartender was engrossed in conversation at other end of bar. We waited 5 mins and then proceeded to leave only to hear one of the patrons he was speaking to make a rude comment. The bartender never made any attempt to offer a beverage. Stumbled in on a very rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was packed with a 40 minute wait, but we were able to be seated right away at the bar. Shared the blue cheese potato chips and the duck sandwich, both were absolutely delicious. There was a great selection of beers on tap as well. Nice pub with great food!!!! We tried the Truffle Duck w/5 cheese Mac ....amazing!!!! Also had the Caprese panini W/Parmesan fries and the dry rub wings with Alabama white sauce!!! Everything was delicious!!!!! I would have given 5 stars but the service was a little off for me. I shouldn't have to get someone to find my server in order to get my check. Me and my SO fell in love with this pub. We got the recommendation from a local we met. The location, food, drinks, and service were all top notch. Our favorites were the Buffalo Cheese Curds and the Truffle Duck Sandwich! We almost fought over the cheese curds - haha. My SO loved the Nashville buffalo sandwhich & I did too but I couldn't eat it because it was WAY to spicy & that's coming from someone who can take spice pretty well. The Brussels were okay, I would love for the place to come out with maple Brussels sprouts. As for the drinks, you really can't go wrong. If you come to charleston, check out this place!! Blind Tiger... Love. This is my first time here since the closing & renovations. I come here mainly for the fabulous large outdoor patio. I love it here. It is do intimate & cozy. They have several sections to chose from. Outdoor full bar & plenty of umbrellas to hide the glaring sun. They have large couches with tables that are gas lit at night. Love the ambiance here. Lots of nice shrubbery which makes the place feel like you are in someone's back yard. We got two Bloody Mary's to assist with the previous nights libations. They were some of the best Bloody Mary's we have ever had, in fact so good I think we ordered three!! We stayed and chatted for several hours, didn't want to leave. So if you want to bring family out & experience a cool courtyard with drinks & food. This is your spot. We didn't have food, but we had some in our Bloody Mary's!! Does that count read more

Came here for brunch, I ordered a plain burger with lettuce and tomato without a bun, the server roasted my order (I have food allergies, and mentioned this). Trust me, pal, I'd love to be able to eat the burger as it's intended. Not a fan overall, but the outdoor space is nice and the food was good, just not the best service. read more

I made my reservation specifically for the patio, which is the best part of the blind tiger, only to arrive to the hostess table to be told that there are no tables available on the patio. Imagine my frustration when I looked out there and there were at least 4 tables open. Very disappointing. Businesses should not lie to patrons. Went to the Blind Tiger for lunch on a Saturday in April... it's a pretty cool old bar on Broad Street. There were four of us so we had to wait a few minutes for a table but it wasn't very long. They sat us at a high top in the bar area. Service was a little slow but it was kinda busy so some of it is to be expected. Our table had a couple different burgers and two of the salads. The burgers were very good. The truffle fries that came with it were awesome! The CAB salad looked really good, as did the Heirloom Burrata salad with Chicken but I didn't taste either of them. Beer selection was good, arrived cold so that's a good thing. All in all, a solid choice for lunch and probably a great place for a drink. read more

My brother found this place in the 90's and I've been returning ever since. It's quintessential, historical Charleston and its history as a real speakeasy is just too cool. If you walk inside, do not let the interior deter you. Keep pushing forward and head to the open patio in the back. It's ceiling-less and is all brick, the ground, the walls etc. it's beautiful and old with moss growing in a plants growing through the cracks. The bricks are built into arches and make for fun hideaway niches and areas to sit back and enjoy a cocktail. There's ample seating and standing room too. The dim lighting is good for a date. With the lay out you can head to the back for your own party at a private table or stay up near the bar to remain part of the mix & scene. No table service but they always have a cooler full of water for self service hydration and the wait to get a drink at the bar isn't bad. Choose from the indoor bar or the one out back. Very reasonable prices as well. Stop in for a historical perspective while you imbibe. It's a very fun local joint. read more

Lots of groups were sharing couches so don't be afraid to ask others already seated if you can share. We came in around 11:50 on a Sunday and were seated by 12:30 outside for brunch. I stopped here for lunch after a few hours of walking around the French Quarter and bordering neighborhoods in Charleston. I needed a sandwich and a drink. The Blind Tiger satisfied both ends. I sat in the bar area between the main bar and the hallway to the patio. It's a smaller area with a separate bar. The interior is cool and the tables are high backs. Waitress was quick to arrive and took drink orders. I love bar food and the menu did not disappoint. I ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and a side of Mac n Cheese. Waitress then returned with an El Tigre Picante which seemed to be a take on a spicy margarita. Excellent (see photo). Food was very, very good. Chicken filet was oversized and just spicy enough. The mac n cheese was outstanding. I would have liked to check out the patio but it was raining. Perhaps next time. Because YELP is obsessed with the topic of "gender neutral bathrooms" I'll comment on that as well. There are two bathrooms here. Both are gender neutral but single. So get in line. I've seen this in some other reviews so let me echo that this place really needs to work on customer service. We came in before the lunch rush over the weekend and our food took over an hour to get to us. It was good food, but it wasn't worth an hour wait. We were also sat directly in front of the sun-facing window and it was scorching. My partner's beer quickly became warm and nasty, and we were beginning to overheat well before the food arrived. It sounds silly but it was like being under a magnifying glass in the sun. We took turns standing in the shade near the table & going to the restroom just to splash water on ourselves. On that note, the restrooms really needed a deep clean. They smelled like urine and rust. Between the food taking so long and the intense heat, we took much of our food to go just to get out of there.
