We have ordered our second blind from Blinds 'n' Shades express. They are always very helpful with our Hunter Douglas blind orders!!!

I've been a customer of Blinds and Shades Express for a couple of years now, and I can't say enough about their excellent service. About two years ago, I needed help with my plantation shutters, and Stacey at the store walked me through exactly how to fix them. Just yesterday, I contacted her again about an issue with the valance on my vertical blinds for the patio door. It had fallen and come apart. I was really worried that I'd have to replace this expensive, otherwise functional blind, so I reached out to Blinds and Shades and service here was incredibly helpful. Stacey is extremely knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile to make sure I understand the solution. I needed a factory replacement for a shade and they ordered THE WRONG SIZE. A shade they sold me. They still haven't contacted me and Stacy has told me 15 times that Ronnie would call me about the replacement. after four weeks as summer marches in, I have a $1000 power shade that I can't get a response about I don't care about the response as much as I want the shade but I can't get either. Whatever you do, don't deal with these people as they are all sugar.....unless you need something after they've made their sale. read more

I have been working with Ronnie and Stacey over 17 years! It started when a friend referred me because she just had her house done. I was moving into a new house and needed window coverings. At my old house, I used an off brand that was out of business so I wanted Hunter Douglas, known for its quality and durability. Blinds N Shades showroom has displays of everything because they are the area Hunter Douglas showroom, their quote is better than Costco and Home Depot because those big boxes are middle men. I also had broken plantation shutters from a different brand from before I met Ronnie that needed repairs, and Stacie helped me get the parts and also how to do the repairs. I also had some Hunter Douglas controls that wore out, which Ronnie fixed and showed us how to get free parts from Hunter Douglas and how to replace. I was recommended this store by a friend that worked for a blind manufacturer. Big Mistake. Called for a repair and was quoted 3 week turnaround, I finally got the blinds back two and a half months later and they still didn't work. I called and they said well, we can order the parts and have them shipped to your house. Two weeks later, still no parts. I call and they said, oh I think they were shipped here. I never got a call back to voicemails left and not one proactive act of service, Im out the cost of the initial repair, I have lost 3 months and still have a broken blind. 1 star is VERY generous in my personal experience with this establishment. read more

We've had a large double-layer fabric blind that has served us well for many years. Along the way the lock that held it partially open failed, which we worked around, and then a string within the blind failed. We took the unit to Blinds 'N' Shades Express to get the strings replaced on this otherwise satisfactory blind system. In only a few days we had our blind back with replaced strings and a replacement lock. Very responsive, reasonable cost, and good work. We were quoted by Stacey and given one price when the order was placed , but upon delivery were over charged $80 I didn't catch it until I went to install the blinds and they didn't fit ! So I reviewed the original quote and found the mistake so I called and explained the discrepancy and was told that I would receive a call from Ron the owner which never happened ! Slimey ! The order was placed for Hunter Douglas Blinds ( the correct sizes reflected on the original quote ) The blinds I received blinds didn't fit and I was over charged by incompetent and unaccountable staff and business owner . I brought in very large one piece blind that fit over a sliding glass door. The piece that was broken is no longer available to order. So, my choice was to replace the blinds. However, Stacey, told me that she made them work and showed me how with a little TLC I can bypass the problem and the blinds can still be serviceable. How many businesses these days offer you the more affordable way out? Stacey was so gracious, conscientious, and kind in her approach. Not impressed. First of all, they couldn't be bothered to put a mask on until I asked. Second, just like a previous reviewer, I came in for a repair. I was given a couple of different answers. I was told it wouldn't be an issue for them to ship them back to the manufacturer. Guess what? They ultimately couldn't be bothered. Clearly they wanted me to buy a new blind from them. At first, I was impressed. Ronnie came to the measuring appointment on time. Stacy was very friendly and helped me pick the color that would be best for the shades I wanted. After selecting the style, Stacy said she would send me an estimate by email. I waited 1 1/2 weeks for the estimate before calling that I hadn't received their estimate yet. The gentleman (Ronnie?) said he would pass on the message that I hadn't received anything by email. It's nearly a month later. I've had no email or call. I went in to get a honeycomb blind restrung and was greeted by Stacy. She was very nice and extremely helpful. I had gotten a quote to clean several blinds and restring the broken blind that all matched in the same room from another company that was $384.00 yikes! She explained to me that since they were over 10yrs old ( they are 16 yrs old) that cleaning them might damage them. So even though the price scared me off from other company ultimately I'm glad I came to blinds and shades and got my blind fixed for $45.00. YES that works for me !!!! I left them expecting to get a call in a few days but Stacy called in a few hours later to let me know my blind was repaired !! When I went back in (the same day) she showed me how to lightly spot clean a few areas without damaging them. Needed a quick repair on a Bali honeycomb style window shade as the continuous pull string broke. My husband was able to remove the shade and I brought it in to see if they could fix it. Not only was Stacey able to fix it, she did it while I was waited there (maybe about 10-15 minutes)! Glad I found them on Yelp. Saves me having to replace the entire window covering. Great price on the repair, would definitely recommend them. We were in the market for a Motorized Top-Down / Bottom-Up Shade (with Remote). It turns out that the only company that makes one is Hunter-Douglas. We were initially going to go to another store, but that other store insisted on coming to our house to measure. We know that would waste an hour of our lives, and frankly, I know how to use a measuring tape (and we don't need a parade of fabrics and upselling). That led us to Blinds 'N' Shades Express. We are very happy to have Ronnie and his crew to help us install Hunter Douglas in our new house. In our case, we needed the blinds to be done right away as we were getting ready to move into the house without any curtains or blinds on it. Ronnie had a very tight schedule but was able to come to our house very quickly to do the measurements and give helpful advice to choose the right product, even before we had chosen him to do the job. He was prepared to be super efficient in the walkthrough, in particular I like how he brought his Ipad Pro to show me all the details he talked about and immediately give the quote, as opposed to waiting to hear back. During the process, Ronnie and crew responded to all our questions right away with a cheerful attitude. We really appreciate that they were always on time, take the time to listen to our requests, even a lot of smaller details. One of my blinds had a missing valance cover. I found them in my web search and they were near by. I went to their show room and Stacey was very helpful and knowledgeable and explained to me different parts of a vertical blind. After reviewing my options I ordered an appropriate valance cover. It arrived in a week and she called me to let me know. Another of my window vertical blind has broken valance clips. They are old so replacement parts are not available but Stacey was very helpful in referring me to parts web site and explain different options to replace the head rail and still use vanes to reduce cost. Would not recommend this place. Installers came and were very rude (the head installer) and wore their shoes without covers while walking through the house. Regardless went back to get more shades to match existing and the owner Roni is exactly like the installer rude who doesn't get back to his customers with quotes even after calls and several Emails. They obviously don't respect a customer. A place that doesn't respect a customer is a waste of my time. read more

She didn't follow through and despite daily follow ups, I didn't get the quote until several days later. And when the quote came, it wasn't anything we discussed in the store. I really wanted to buy Hunter Douglas shades from this company. They made 3 appointments to come to my house and measure. They stood me up 3 times, and after the first time, I was careful to double check their schedule before I left work to come home. Each time I called Stacie on the phone, she had either my name, phone number, or address wrong. I tried to make sure they could succeed in spite of her. No luck. 3 strikes. I'm moving to a different vendor. The business face to the customer is the worst I can imagine. I had to wait 2 weeks for the first scheduled visit to measure. They don't come after 5 pm, so I had to leave work early so I could get home for their latest appointment. They didn't show. I called them and Stacie told me she had scheduled it for an incorrect date. Then she rescheduled me for 11 days later for July 2. And again they didn't show up. When I called, they were closed for the holiday weekend. Their voicemail was full and their email was full, so I couldn't even leave a message for them. When I reached them on July 5, she said she was so sorry. She claimed they had tried to call me and leave messages a few days before July 2, but I never got any message. Then it turned out she had my phone number wrong. So I gave them one more chance. They rescheduled for the next opening, just two days later. I left work early again, and again they didn't come. I called when they were due, and Stacie said the owner was on his way to my house at that very moment. 15 minutes later I called again, and I got the owner himself, who immediately handed me off to Stacie again. She said she had scheduled the date incorrectly. I told them at that point I was going to buy my shades somewhere else. read more

I had Ronnie come measure our windows for Hunter Douglas composite shutters. He was very thorough when he measured our windows (measured each one 3 times for width and height). His price was pretty good, but we were a little hesitant to hire Ronnie since we couldn't find many reviews on his business. Regretfully, we chose another vendor to buy/install from. It was a HUGE mistake (see my review for DJ Window Fashions). After the horrible installation job from DJ Windows, we called Ronnie to see if he could come re-install our shutters. It was somewhat embarrassing, but I really wanted my shutters fixed!! Ronnie came by the day we called him to first check out the work. DJ windows did. He was able to point out all the things that could be done better, and explained to me how he would fix the issues I was having. I knew he would do a good job once he came over. He was very knowledgeable and detailed! We set up a full day for him to come over and fix our shutters. Today, Ronnie came over with his assistant, and I couldn't be happier with the job he did. He took down every single shutter, and put them up correctly and did a way better job than DJ Windows. He was very precise and detail oriented. He came well prepared and brought extra screws, levels, etc. Before he even put the shutters back up, he checked each frame. He then checked the walls to see if they were level. Since windows are never perfectly square/rectangular, he would then decide the best way to fit the frame over the window. If there were any issues he thought I should know about (from curves in the wall), he would show me exactly where they were and how he would best fit the shutter on. He made sure every single shutter was level after screwing them in, and made sure the panels fit multiple times. He also made sure the frames were screwed in very securely (as they were not before). It took them 9-10 hours to fix our windows. I never felt like he was rushing to leave, and I could tell he wanted the job done well. His assistant was very polite in our home! I jokingly told Ronnie he should make sure that DJ Windows didn't install other peoples' shutters, but he told me he would not, as that wasn't who he or his business was. I really liked that he was super professional and classy!! If you are looking for window coverings, you won't regret choosing Ronnie! read more
