Only negative is taht the order process is a tad wonky, where you get an estimate and they don't come out to actually measure until you put down 50%. It was not a big deal. They are responsive, but they also could streamline their points of contact, i.e. I never knew if I was texting with the main office or the installer. FYI - you can't schedule install date with the installer, it's through the main office. But overall, good service, happy with the replacement shades. Would hire again. read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend them. I scheduled an appointment at my home. The day of, I texted where to park and I got a thumbs up. And then nobody showed up. I called twice and left messages, I texted several times, nothing. THREE hours later I got a rude text saying I didn't show up and where was I. I had explicitly said in my text I wanted to schedule in the city where I live (beware, they will charge a lot if you live outside San Jose). Long sorry short, I finally got someone to call me (I had to ask twice via text) and their response to my attempt to address the situation was telling me to look elsewhere. Her response: they're a small family business. That doesn't excuse the way I was treated. A small family business should care about their reputation and want referrals and reviews the exact opposite of this one. An unfortunate misunderstanding should have been simple to resolve. Instead they made excuses. It shows how they deal with issues, and how they treat people. UPDATE: I read other reviews, and other people have commented on their negative experience with Evaristo, who is the one who sent me the rude text. He's abrasive and rude and clearly doesn't care about treatment of past and prospective customers. Don't use them. read more

Had a bad experience with this company. A technician named Everisto who I also believe is the owner came over to restring our broken blinds that the homeowners that we rent from had a warranty for. He gave me the run around and brought up non sense about cars at a dealership and oil changes, and while i was simply trying to explain to him what our landlords confirmed to me he hangs up on me, mid sentence. He left without repairing anything even after the homeowners assured the blinds were under warranty. I would never personally use this company and do not recommend this company to anyone. This guy is a crook and takes advantage of people with no common sense. Update: Perla the co owner replies with the same cookie cutter response she gives everyone that leaves a bad review. Reached out on yelp, they quoted 45$ per string but never mentioned that both strings would need to be replaced even if just 1 is broken.. they said service fee 49$ never mentioned that have to pay it anyways even if we don't take the service.. Anyhow yelp scheduling was easy and the scheduler on yelp was polite and prompt, so far so good and hence 1 star. Evaristo from the shop shows up. He is all angry rude and hostile right away (maybe not having a good day?) anyhow I show him the blinds he says grand total 289 and anyways you have to pay me 49 for bringing me here..I say no problem, can I understand the split? He says 1 string broken but we have to replace 2 and replace motor coil etc.. so I tell him that let's do it but in future that might be good to include this in the initial estimate.. I try to show him the yelp estimate.. he is having none of it.. not listening me, interrupting me saying scheduler doesn't know..eventually says forget it, bangs his van door and leaves. I seldom leave negative reviews but if you are in service industry it's expected not have such a bad attitude and atleast listen to the costumer? This is the second time I used this company, again, a very good experience. They are knowledgeable and professional and transparent with their fees. This time my blind was fixed and installed in one day. Ito is great and he taught me how to handle the blinds in the house so they are not do not need repair frequently and I appreciate that. The customer service kept me posted as to the appointment time and I m updated as when the repairman will arrive, so I can manage my time, I like that. I am so glad we picked Bloomin' Blinds to repair our shades! We have two shades that can be lowered from top or raised from the bottom, and three shades that needed to be restrung, plus the motors on three of the shades had failed. Some of this happened at the beginning of the pandemic and the matchbook trick my hubby used to stabilize one of the shades was weakening. After checking out several different companies, including the company that fitted our windows 11 years ago, we followed through with Bloomin' Blinds. We asked if their technician was vaccinated/boosted and would wear a mask. Once Perla assured us Ito was vaxxed and would be masked, we hired them to repair all our shades. Ito arrived this morning in a fully equipped truck and set to work. He was very professional and extremely easy to work with. He would not even allow my hubby to help him move the couch! It took Ito over two hours to do all the repairs and move everything back the way it looked when he arrived. We love supporting local, home businesses even knowing we may well pay a bit more for their services. So, we were more than pleased with the total cost as it was very, very reasonable. Full disclosure, we asked the ownership to address our conncerns prior to writing this review, they refused. BEWARE There are not many in the south bay that do this sort of work, so you will be inclined to use them, I would NOT recommend. Without going into a long diatribe: 1. They bait and switch, when you complain, once your blind is taken apart, the tech, who is the owner, is happy to say " Well then just do it yourself" 2. Work is not done correctly, upon examination after departure we found that the strings were only partially replaced although we paid for full replacement. 3. Hidden service fee that they sort of tell you about. Be careful.. Tech ( Owner ) feigns modesty and integrity but he's really there to squeeze as much $ out of a service call as possible. Bottom line, they know they are one of the only games in town and take full advantage of it. Suggest you try HARD to find another vendor. read more

The first time we used Bloomin Blinds, the tech came out and even though we have a San Jose mailing address, the tech insisted on charging us $10 more than the quoted price because he said we were in Campbell. We are literally on the border of Campbell and SJ. When we refused, he took our curtains and stormed away, driving off. He put us very ill at ease from this volatile behavior. We called and requested that he bring back our draperies and declined any further services. Fast forward, a year or so later and we needed a plantation blind fixed. We called because they were the only company nearby and they sent over the same guy. The estimate included a pick up and drop off charge which we agreed to, no problem. The guy picked up the plantation blind and without letting us know he would be doing so, literally spent about two hours in his van with all of the doors and windows closed parked in our driveway. After the last interaction, we found this abundantly creepy. Not sure if he was napping in there or what exactly he was doing locked up in a car on a hot day. He emerged hours later with the fixed blind, shoddy job as the slats were simply turned over and had marks all over them. No pick up and drop off necessary but we literally paid the amount quoted just so he would leave. This was not a good experience. read more

Made appointments; one for a repair& one for the possibility of three new window coverings for two bedrooms. The repair person came at the time that had been scheduled for the window coverings engagement. The repair couldn't be made & when I asked what about the the other appointment I was told that they had never heard of me even though I have a text confirming their appointment. I had a very negative experience with Bloomin' Blinds last week in San Jose.. When the Bloomin' Blinds repairman arrived at my home to repair my living room blinds, he walked in the door and said immediately: "I don't work for free." On top of the $40 service call, he wanted another $80 for the repair. I agreed to the payment, even though the $80 was never mentioned in my initial communications with Bloomin' Blinds. The repairman looked at my blinds for about one minute, and then called them un-repairable. Yes, he took $120 for that. He then said he would arrange for a salesperson to sell me new blinds. Truth be told, I felt most sold on them the moment they left my place. On the installation day, Evaristo, the technician, arrived at my place on time and started the installation. He was quite proficient in installations and took care of blind swing issues on my French door with spacers, which I did not expect to be an issue to begin with. The blinds are definitely beautiful!
