My wife and I just relocated from CA to Star. We purchased a new home and needed window treatments. We chose Blindsource based on the recommendation of our real estate agent. Amy came out to do our initial estimate. She was nice and efficient and gave us what we felt was a very reasonable price. We would have to wait about three weeks for the blinds to come in after ordering. We were OK with that. We got a call yesterday from Mark, the owner, that our blinds were in and he was able to schedule the installation for today, which was very nice. I did not get the name of the actuall technician and his assistant but they were very good and it only took about an hour to install about 9 sets of faux-wood blinds. We are very pleased with the final result. Just a heads up when ordering blinds: make sure you know on which side of the blind you want the wand. And let the person giving you the estimate know. read more

Unfortunately, due to a very poor experience with Becca, the self reported "office manager" and the person who called to schedule our blind install, we can't give Blindsource more than 1 star. When providing a recommendation for any business, whether it be restaurant, tire shop, window treatments etc, we take into consideration the customer service from start to finish, the quality of the product and ease of use, and the length of time it takes to receive the service or product. In this case, the salesperson (woman) who came to our home, who, I might add, was scheduled to come within a day or 2 of us calling, was professional, friendly and knew her window treatments. The installers were 2 men, both professional and expert at their craft. However the office manager Becca, was rude, arrogant and refused to flex with our needs when it came to the install dates. This ruined our entire experience with Blindsource, who, by the way, we called because our builder recommended them. We also spoke to Blind Appeal, who we almost went with and wish we had gone with. We waited 8 weeks for a combination of blinds and shutters to come in. When they finally came in Becca didn't call us, she texted my phone stating she wanted to install blinds the following day. We were out of town, so I asked for something 2 days later which fell in the following week. Becca informed me that she "had no installers in your area" those days so it wasn't possible to get our blinds then. I asked for a few days after that, still in the same week. Still, the answer was no. Finally I gave two specific dates 2 weeks later, she again came back with a different date than the 2 I proposed. We were becoming frustrated as we had an upcoming vacation off the mainland and didn't want the window treatments to wait until we returned. Dealing with paper shades that take two clips per shade to be held up for a period of 10 weeks is annoying, so we were really hoping to get our blinds and shutters installed as soon as they came in. After all, when we called to set up a sales appt, someone could "get to our area" within a day or two! Getting a salesperson was easy, so why couldn't getting the blinds installed be easy? When I asked to speak to an office manager, she said she WAS the office manager, yet she offered no compromise or customer service to mediate the situation. When I asked why she presented an option other than the 2 days I gave a full 2 weeks out from when she first texted me, she stated she offered me one of the days I requested, but I refused it. First, why would we do that and second, this was not true and the conversation was ALL documented over text message. I informed her I would send her a screenshot of the text I sent with dates. She responded back, "well I don't know what to say, I got a those dates." What??? There was no phone call at all, only texts- because apparently that's how Becca does her job. As we all know, text messages are a written trail of what was said, so no, Becca, you didn't "get another date" because it's in black and white and I see what I sent you. So, apparently Becca lies along with acting rude and arrogant to customers who use the business recommended to them by their local builder. I see multiple reviews stating Mark, the owner does not respond for repairs or other customer service related questions, so we're waiting for that to be next, should we need a repair. Based on the experience with Becca alone, I would not recommend this business. UPDATE: No, Mark. You are wrong about your staff calling me vs texting and about me sending "long, irate text messages." You are also wrong about "Bekah" apologizing for the mix up. This NEVER happened. I have all the texts, and they are brief and to the point, which does not qualify as irate. There is no profanity or name calling or screaming in all caps. There is simply we were available and when we weren't and how little flexibility was offered when it came to installing our window treatments after paying you $4000. So you apparently live up to your reputation as described in other reviews, which is to say that you lie and do not make good on your promises and cannot be trusted as a businessman. We purchased plantation shutters from Blind Source in hopes they would help keep the cold out in the winter. Unfortunately, the way this company installs shutters, does not include a full interior framing but rather just some hinges nailed into the window frame. There isn't anything to keep the cold out as there are gaps along every side of every window. What a huge disappointment and waste of money. I don't recommend these Norman shutters at all. My last two homes, Home Depot installed my shutters and they were a much nicer, more secure fit. read more

Hello. My name is Yvonne Gauslin. My last reach out to your company was a visit from Daniel? I was told we had a lifetime service on adjusting by installation men. Now I find it was 5 year. No problem with that I was within time frame. When Daniel came to our house, this is after taking pictures of problem of blinds, he did not introduce himself I read the company logo on shirt. He asked what the problem was I told him my blinds are not going up they are loose and bunching. 2 big blinds were the ones referring to I as I had sent pictures of problem. I said obviously you did not see pictures. He said he did not, said what do you mean bunching? Next he said we don't adjust blinds I mentioned that what u was told. I then said, don't bother. You can leave I will call a manager of the dept that can handle my complaint, he said that would be me. I insisted he leave I will contact someone else from your company. He then said I can adjust them see if that's better. When I received call from Mark to follow up on service of my call. He said it was understood from his end the problem was resolved. Since I stated it was not resolved the issue is the same. Mark asked if I could send a video of problem. We paid top price for blinds. I don't think they were standard blinds you get at Home Depot. I feel a video would be nice if your staff would have requested the first time. Daniel would have done it when he was here. It concerns me, I don't feel your company is standing by the product sold. I should not have to go through all this. Either there is a problem with blinds or isn't. I was requesting replacement of 2 major blinds that I put up and down. The product is not holding up to the 5 years guarantee. I wanted to present this complaint to your company before I "yelp" my complaint. I did not sense Daniel relaying issue but rather down played it. Rated 2 for quality and service. Seems they question my pictures now want a video. The person who came out recently should have accommodated their vendors request when I made it official asked him to leave. He should have known companies requirement's. Meeting w/ you was impossible too . It seems you were in meetings or OTO to take our calls . Or avoiding us . During my Designer consultation , I was very clear to Gina how important to have room darkening . SHE NEVER MENTIONED OR OFFERED US THE OPTION TO HAVE SIDE LIGHT FILTERING . Otherwise , I would purchased the whole package . Unless she did not know that was an option ! Yes , I told her it was the best night of sleep I had in one year . B/ c it was silent and a bit darker than the rental we had a 1 year ago .Especially having S. Meridian street behind our rental home . Before our new home was under construction for 1 year. It was always traffic noises . Your blinds service did not meet my expectations ! Again ! OPTIONS SHOULD BE OFFERED DURING MY CONSULTATION! You gave us options how to fix the issues . But your options were not going to work for us that time . Different style . and more out of pocket money . Ridiculous. About emails sent to us regarding status of Blinds. Never received any . I contacted Gina regarding status etc . I even called Kimberly and your receptionist several times . They could not informed when the blinds will be arriving to your studio . I can't thank BlindSource enough for their quality of work from start to finish!!!! Due to COVID, I thought for sure it was going to be a nightmare to get window treatments for my new home. NOT with BlindSource!! I received a call (within hours of my message) to schedule an in home appt with Amy the same week! They were also very accommodating when I had to reschedule. Amy not only arrived on time, she was very cordial, informative and helpful with suggestions. The appt lasted an hour and before leaving she provided temporary (paper) blinds until mine could be installed. Then, just shy of 3-wks later, the blinds were installed in less than an hour!! I recently built a new home and had Blindsource do my window coverings. Their price was really fair. They met me onsite to pick out the color and pattern of the roller shades. They had the brand name I wanted, Hunter. We walked through each room of the house and discussed the covering needs of each. They didn't try to convince me to put coverings on Windows that didn't need it. When it came to the install their installers were quick, polite, and well trained.
