$100 to trim less than 1/8" off of my 4 year old Hunter Douglas blinds that were purchased from them?!?!?!? $100?!?!?!? RIDICULOUS!!!!

THANK YOU NICOL !! I found some good old fashion Idaho customer service at the Blind Gallery today. I was trying to repair a large wooden blind for my daughter and after a few hours decided to visit the Blind Gallery where we had purchased the blinds for our house years ago. I was met by Nicol Chandler, one of their window covering specialist, and explained my problem who advised that their repair guys was out of town until the first week of July. She then agreed to take a look. She spent approximately 30 minutes diagnosing the issue and then she repaired it for me and to top it off didn't charge me for her time or a couple of small parts she had to use to repair the blind. I went into the store with a broken part for my blinds that were close to 25 years old. The gal at the desk looked at it and said "let me go take a look". In about two minutes she walked out with the exact same part and asked if I needed more than one. I told her I did have another part on the same blinds that was also about to break (plastic). She brought 2 and told me just to take them and give them a good recommendation. Boy did she make my day. Another place had told me good luck, I would have to order it online. Grossly overpriced for simple repair parts. I needed replacement lift cord for my blinds. 30 feet cost $9.00, 30 cents a foot. This cord sells in bulk rolls for $7 to $20 max for 300 feet. That is 2 cents to 6.6 cents per foot. That is a 450 to 1500 percent mark up. It takes 60 seconds to pull it off the spool. At half that price, I would have thought the price was a bit high but the availability of service with a smile would justify it. Any company that will gouge on the little things will never get my business on the big things. So much for service before the sale. btw, The young lady who helped me was nice as she took my money with no apology for the gouging price. read more

Do you want to go to COLLECTIONS AFTER YOU PAID 2 years after you had blinds installed with NO contact from the Blind Gallery and then be sent to collections without ever hearing from them in 2+ years. Not a call,, no letter absolutely no contact from them in 2 yrs until I irate bookkeeper called me on Memorial Day 2019 This is worth the time to read this ! Unfortunately due to limited space I have to add this in parts so I numbered them. This is my very first negative post in my 58 yrs so please take this seriously. . This is meant for the everyday consumers like myself, with a huge BUYER BEWARE prior to make any PURCHASES FROM THE BLIND GALLERY. . So I'm speaking the truth here. There is no way possible to exaggerate this because it would make them look like monsters. Now to the true nitty gritty of the disgusting lies, time and money they put me through. I'm doing this because I'm personally tired of any company small or large who gets away with lying and no repercussions to them. PART 2: Blind gallery on Fairview in Meridian Idaho, A cheap excuse for a company who happily take your money work is done it's paid in full they disappear until 2 years later "now 6/2019" make demand of payment despite not making any attempts in over two years to contact you. Still demanding payment if the 600 at that very second. In short to get on our way to our family vaca destination we made a verbal contractual agreement allowing me time to look into this. BUT THEN THE NIGHTMARE STATTS WHEN I RETURNED. Picture it like this, you get home everything is in disarray your trying to unpack, much to do, your life is upside down right typical for a return home. You feel like you're on a Ferris wheel that says "jump at your own risk", but question how did you get there. Per our agreement I knew I had time when I got home to research the bogus bill which I would be looking at for a time frame of May 2017 to current. With different bank accounts to consider and many that dont keep and offer online options after 18 mo. I then had to go to the banks and place a request. In the meantime there were so many boxes that were in storage, I'm sure you get the picture, me climbing through a house hold of belongings that were threw in storage during the worst winter in December 2016 which is when we purchased our home. My first experience with Blind Gallery was 12 years ago when we moved from Seattle. It was during the construction boom and there was a six week waiting period before someone could come to the house. I called Blind Gallery, they came out and we were able to choose our window coverings and they were ordered and installed before the other company would be able to come out. Outstanding customer service and quality products from beginning to end! I bought this beautiful little home and the seller took his curtains out. I decided that I wanted custom-made curtains and tie-backs in every room of my home. Liza was awesome and so patient helping me pick out the finials, the fabric, and repairing my Hunter Douglas blinds as well. The process took over nine months because of ordering the fabric and the finials including the installations. The curtains were installed in stages because of my budget. There were able to listen to my concerns each step of the way. Most importantly, the curtains were needed for extra privacy and cost-effective way to lower my air-conditioning bills. Having darker rooms during the heat waves, the A/C does not have to work so hard. Over the course of the years as I own this home, I will have a lower carbon footprint. My house looks like a mini-mansion, so elegant and classy at the same, and not ostentatious. I even got a rebate at the end. Liza and all of the staff were wonderful answering questions and confirming appointments during the process. My home's value will go up because of these beautiful curtains throughout. I would highly recommend them for the quality of customer service as well as the high quality products they install. read more

Be cautious if dealing with this store. I purchased blinds for my home from them. The salesperson made numerous promises. As did the installer. Foolishly, I trusted the people, the store warrantee and the Hunter Douglas warrantee. Sadly, some of the blinds were miss-cut so they do not hang straight and square; and they were not mounted in the center of the windows--small gaps and large gaps to varying degrees. The salesperson came out to inspect the issues and again promised to fix the many problems. She advised me to not pay the balance until the issues were resolved. Then nothing. All my calls were ignored ~~ until nearly three (3) YEARS later. They blamed the salesperson saying she had a serious illness and spent about a month in the hospital. And, they, conveniently, lost all of my paper work for nearly three (3) years. Now, they are demanding payment for replacement blinds not delivered and poor workmanship never corrected. They also claim that, because they "had no record of my calls" and they misplaced the paperwork for nearly three (3) years, the blinds and workmanship are now out of warranty. Also, they want to charge extra for them to honor their guarantee! Needless to say, I will never do business with them again; nor will I purchase Hunter Douglas products again. read more

This was my first experience getting good quality blinds and I had absolutely no idea what I wanted or what colors to choose. I was so incredibly nervous and worried I would make the wrong choices. Thank goodness for Liza's expertise and designer eye!! She spent a lot of time at my home helping me to pick out different types of blinds for certain windows and choosing the fabrics. I had some older 1996 Hunter Douglas blinds that broke. I came here hoping they would have the part needed to repair our older generation blinds. They had the lift away tape I needed and my blinds were fixed for less than two dollars! Will definitely come back for repairs and eventual replacement. Great to work with! read more
