This review is long overdue. I made an appointment for micro-pigmentation before New Year's Day. It was a last minute decision and I don't regret it. I had done microblading a few years ago at another place and it was okay but micro-pigmentation was sooooo much better. For me it was painless and the pigment adhered so much better. What made my experience all around worth it was when I walked in I was greeted by Vanessa who actually performed my service. What a breath of fresh air. You never know when you visit a new place how you will be received especially being African-American. Vanessa had the 3 p's as she was professional, personable and patient. Clarice was giving back to Cancer Survivors by Tattooing a Areola on breasts that have been reconstructed after breast Cancer. I met with Clarice today. She did the most perfect Areola. She made me feel so comfortable. She was so friendly and personable. Everything in the Salon was so clean and done under sterile conditions. I couldn't be more happy with the results. Having recently moved to Wakefield, I was looking for a new facialist closer to home. I normally do my homework in terms of thoroughly vetting a salon by reading all reviews, but to be honest, the reviews I read were mixed, ranging from amazing to awful. I decided to risk it because the facial packages sounded amazing, but it was a costly risk. Pros: -Provided both a microdermabrasion and a peel, when the facial package only included one. -Used quality products. Some salons use low grade towels and sponges on the face, but it's evident that Blink uses high quality supplies. Cons: -No one was in the welcome area when I arrived -The facialist gave me a once over when she arrived, apparently not flattered by my outfit (it was a lazy Saturday, sue me!) -The facialist did not review my intake form thoroughly -The facialist left the door open for a portion of the facial -The facialist left me alone in the room while my masks were on. Most other salons give a hand/ foot massage while I'm "marinating". -The facialist was rough and jerky with my head. It was not relaxing; seemed rushed. -No extractions were done -The facialist provided limited information about the products she was using. I had to inquire, myself. Most salons are happy to market their products and share what they think would be good for my skin. -The bed was on uneven ground, the faux ceiling has a chip in it. -I have NEVER had a facialist tell me to keep my socks and pants on. Ever. Normally facialists want me to feel completely comfortable and relaxed. -The facialist never offered me water, checked to see if the temperature in the room was okay, or asked if I needed a pillow for under my legs. (By the way, I did). Poor bedside manner. -The facialist didn't even tell me the total amount of the bill. When all was said and done, she just asked if they should charge the card on file. The facialist seemed done and over with me the moment I walked in. Was I not stylish enough for Blink? Perhaps my measly $120 facial wasn't worth her time. I have never felt so disrespected and disregarded for a paid service that should leave me feeling well-taken care of and relaxed! I honestly felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when I left. "Big mistake. Big! Huge!" *I have had between 20-30 massages/ facials in my life and have never NOT given a tip, even when my standards weren't met. This was a hard decision for me because I know it is typical etiquette, but it was truly undeserved. Tips shouldn't be expected, they should be earned. She definitely did NOT earn it. **Hoping the manager pays attention to this review and checks in with her staff about what it means to provide a customer-oriented experience. read more

Discovered Blink Salon and Spa online and when viewing their reviews on yelp, I knew that they would be the best location to visit. Had my brows micro-bladed by Clarice on Saturday and couldn't be happier! She took the time to go over every concern I had and explained in perfect detail how the procedure would go, the minor pain associated with it, and the recovery process. This was my first tattooing experience (so I was a tad nervous) but I can honestly say the pain was manageable and completely gone when she put on the numbing gel. I'm coming back in for a follow-up appointment in late May but as of right now, 4 days since my initial appointment, my brows are healing quite nicely and I'm loving them! Clarice is an obvious master of her skill and it shows! We had a lovely conversation about her background and how she got into the field which made me feel even more at ease and comfortable. I had the pleasure of getting eyelash extension removal and a fresh full, volume set with Krystyna yesterday at Blink salon and spa. I had booked my appointment with their online system. Krystyna was very knowledgeable and friendly. The spa is under renovation, expansion, which did not interfere with my relaxing appointment. Krystyna removed the last of my lashes abd dud a fresh full volume set. She was so friendly and has flawless skin. I paid extra and got the collagen eyepada versus getting just tape under my eyes. After the 2 hours you can totally see the difference, it's worth the $10 upgrade. I was very relaxed and even fell asleep a few times. I'm very talkative so krystyna was still professional, friendly and meticulous. I asked about my skin, and as a licensed professional she made recommendations. I'm going back this Friday for a facial with microdermabrasion. I will report back. I am In love with my lashes, they are so soft and full. The collage eyepada really helped give me a fresh look. There is plenty of parking in the back I'm addition to a garage. It in an office suite I pass by more than 3 times a day and 5 minutes from my home. I'm so glad I found this gem! ! read more

I had my eyebrows done in the powder brow style by Clarice on Tuesday after having a number of exchanges of questions and answers with her over email about the different styles of brows she does and the colour choices. When I got there she spent some time discussing with me the look I was going for and what the end resulting shape and colour would be and marked and remarked with the pencil over and over again until the shape was just right before she began tattooing. (Numbing cream had been put on some time prior while I was filling in paperwork on arrival). Clarice was very thorough in making sure to get every bit covered, leaving no visible blank spaces and the pain was much more tolerable than some things I have had done to me over the years! They looked great when she was finished and she gave me some cream too put on over the next week and an instruction sheet to follow and I made my follow up appointment for June where she will fill in any missing bits or correct shape changes. I am very pleased with the service I received from all the staff at Blink. read more

I found this place with a groupon for lash extensions, had a great experience with Melissa, she was very nice, caring, took time to explain things to me, did not rush anything. And I got tons of compliments on my lashes, tons. I went back again, and same great experience. It was relaxing too I would fall asleep. I went another time and had Clarice who I think is the owner, she was also very good at what she does. The only thing is that there were a few times where she said something to me which put blame on me about something, one comment was about how my lashes were when I arrived, a complaint about that...another negative comment during the treatment, and after treatment too, that it was my fault (that my eyes were twitching when closed?) and that that made her not make something right. I have been coming to blink ! Salon and spa since it opened. I've also been a client of Clarice for years. The salon is luxurious, modern, relaxing, as well as has a true spa feeling. The music lets me melt into my own relaxed mind and regardless of what I'm getting done (waxed, facial, lash extensions Ive had it all done) I always leave beautiful and feeling pampered. I wouldn't go anywhere else now that I found this hidden gem. The prices and frequent small business deals are so affordable I always find a service worth booking! The best part of this salon though is the customer service. I always leave feeling happy and the staff checks in with me constantly. I was quite disappointed in my experience here at Blink! Salon and Spa ! I had purchased a Groupon that was for the Ultimate Indulgence Package which included a Foot Massage, American Facial, Full Body Aromatherapy Scrub, Hydrating Hand and Arm Massage and LED Light Eye Treatment. The treatment was, per their website, a 2.5-3 hour treatment retailing for $ 249.00 so I was expecting much more. While my technician was nice and did a good job on what she did do, I did not receive what was advertised. The Full body scrub and facial were the only two things I received in full. The Hand and Arm massage, apparently is where they slap lotion on your hand and arm and takes less than a minute the arm. The foot massage, was non existent. When I finished, I knew that the tipping policy for Groupon was on the full price, so I gave her a decent tip. Then I realized while walking to my car, as I reviewed the groupon (as I was only in there 1 1/2 hours, and was supposed to be 2 1/2 - 3) that I did not receive the foot massage or LED Light Eye Treatment. So I went back. The technician was nice, and willing to give me the LED Light Eye Treatment right then, but didn't even comment on the foot massage. While I had high hopes for this place, I was not satisfied. Even with a Groupon price, I felt that I had overpaid for an under delivered service. The only reason I gave this two stars was how nice the technician was, as well as the facial being a pretty decent one. read more

The woman who helped me was singing in my ear, very bad breathe and her stomach was growling for the whole 1.5 hour appt. Where do I start...I had a very bad experience getting my eyebrows tattooed in the past, with a well known artist in the north shore area. I had to live with the bad work for years. I was very self conscious and it took me so much time in the morning using makeup to cover up and try to make my brows look somewhat descent, when that is the exact opposite of what I wanted..I got them tattooed in the first place so I wouldn't have to worry about drawing them daily... what I was left with is uneven eyebrows that quickly faded to a blue gray color. So after searching for help...I find Blink on Facebook and I start emailing with Clarice, the amazing owner. I have questions and concerns..especially since I had a very bad experience in the past. She is very patient with me and understands how upset I am and how big of a deal this is to me. Long story..short, I go to see Clarice and she helps me..after two appointments I have eyebrows that I am happy with!!!!! So happy with, I can't tell you how much more confident I feel. I actually got emotional after my last appointment and began crying out of happiness and I was just so thankful to clarice. She really is amazing at what she does. Her patience, knowledge, attention to detail and unbelievable talent make her the very best! I appreciate her determination to get the color correct and to make sure my existing work and my new work matched in color when healed. She was so positive through the whole experience and truly cared about how I felt. My situation was not typical since I had previous work..I had a few different issues going on... 1.uneven brows 2.grey/blue color 3.Too thin It was quite a challenge but clarice was willing to help me and I'm so glad she did. I had a first appt where she did a color correction and then once that was healed I had a second appt to correct the shape. I will be going back for one touchup. Like I said because of my awful previous work I had to have more appts than someone else normally would have. I am so unbelievably happy with my brows. It's so nice to not have to worry about drawing them in and being stressed about going swimming, etc. I have brows that will stay in place and I couldn't be happier! Thank you clarice!!! I first got my eyebrows powder filled by Clarice at the Massachusetts tattoo convention. I reached out to her the day before and she was so prompt and thorough at answering all my questions and concerns. My husband is a tattoo artist so I'm very familiar with tattoos but I was surprised to learn how the healing process is so different with pigment done on the face! After your initial appointment you go in for a touch up 6-10 weeks later. At my touch up we perfected the shape and added fullness to the spots where we both felt needed it. I originally planned on doing the microblading but Clarice talked me into the powder filled brows because she felt I would like them much better since I normally do a more dramatic brow with my makeup. That was huge for me in terms of her character because even though the microblading is more expensive and she would've made more off of that service, she cared more about what I would like personally. 3 Weeks ago I came in for an eyelash extension with a groupon....Made the appointment on line, then followed up with a phone call as I was unsure what to expect(how long visit, is parking available etc). Spa is in an office building/Parking was in the back. Girl was nice...I was happy with my lashes....Since then I have tried to make another apt for a fill. Not having much luck...System is not user friendly...Tried last Friday but no appts available...Called salon to verify, to see if I could be squeezed in on Saturday, but no answer. Voice mail states they only chk machine on certain days....I was hoping to stick with this salon, but it seems a lot of work to get it in there...Was hoping to have a fill in by Easter.. I found Clarice through a groupon several months ago when I first became interested in doing eyelash extensions for my wedding. My future sister in law and I bought the groupons well in advance of the wedding so we could test out what getting lash extensions is all about. Let me tell you something right off the bat- after you get lash extensions, you'll feel naked without them! It's incredible how natural, but awesome lash extensions look. We were so happy with our first visit that we'd knew we'd be back before the wedding to do it again. During that time another groupon for lash extensions came out (it seems like a lot are coming out these days) at a different salon in Needham, so we grabbed it- thinking lash extensions were similar across the board. Let me tell you that it is not true at all. We were so disappointed with the other salon- we didn't realize that not all salon's put a lash on every single lash you have on your eyelid!! Additionally, this other salon put on the longest length lash on me and it looked ridiculous. I was scarred and knew I'd never go to anyone besides Clarice. Needless to say, I went back to her 1 week before my wedding and my lashes came out incredible. I really was speechless. I received so many compliments- and still do! After 7 weeks, there are still some left, and they still look perfect. I was also so pleased with how the lashes turned out in my wedding pictures- I really don't like the look of fake strip lashes- you can always see where the glue is. So getting eyelash extensions are really a must before your wedding in my eyes- and I'd recommend not going anywhere else besides Clarice. Well I cannot vouch for the other women at the salon, I can tell you that Clarice is really the best out there. I'm going back for another appointment next week! read more

The location in a run down office building should have been my first indication to stay away. The interior of the salon was much better but still did not have a relaxing spa feel. The room where I had eyelash extensions done was clean and comfortable and there was nice music playing - so that was the one positive. I'm mostly unhappy about my experience because I'd been talking with one of the women about what I wanted and we reviewed pictures but when the procedure was done it looked nothing like the pictures we agreed upon - Jen tried to fix them a little but it would have taken a full redo. And now I have to live with these lashes for four weeks so as to not damage my own eye lashes. I'm embarrassed with the outcome and will never go back. read more

I found Blink from living social and I came in quite a few times for refills and was happy with my eyelashes. I have since found another spa to get my services from because you are urged to do all booking online but that system is horrible with showing available appointments and there isn't a receptionist there often so god luck trying to have anyone call you back in a timely manner for a refill appointment. A few times they didn't have the glue I was used to getting or the correct length of lashes. Whoever is running the place doesn't have a clue about being prepared and stocked for the guests. I recently found a flyer at my gym and there was a free eyebrow coupon as well as $20 off any facial. I needed a facial so I called and to my surprise someone answered, I asked if they had any seasonal facials I could use the $20 off on because I love anything pumpkin this time of year. The girl was amazing and did tell me they were going to be offering a pumpkin facial very soon, she just didn't know the price yet because it hadn't been added to the service menu since it was a new promotion. She offered to book me an appointment and when she had all the information she would call me back but I just decided to forget about it. I feel bad for getting annoyed with her but like I mentioned this place is never prepared. A lot of the ladies at my gym used to be blink customers but they have found others to do their lashes because of the constant issues. For some this wouldn't be an issue but it is for me, especially with how much you are paying for your lashes. I tried to give this place another chance, and ya they do great work but all the other stuff kind of trumps that. It is a spa and you get no spa feel, there's not even refreshments offered when you are sitting in the waiting area. No updated magazines either, make sure your phone is charged just incase you show up early. One positive is the girl who used to do my lashes was always on time I never had to wait for my services. read more

Update: owner contacted me immediately after I emailed her with concern and offered to touch up next day. I was really impressed by this and happy obliged. She went on to explain that some people require different adhesives for their lashes. She spent over an hour touching up and explaining and the results are incredible. I just say I am very happy with how she handled a dis satisfied client. I made a follow up fill and will be back. She also gave me an eyelash sealer to apply to add to the longevity of the lashes free of charge. So happy with the final outcome of the situation. read more

Disappointed that after only a week of having my lashes applied and following the care instructions the best I could, many of my lashes have already fallen off, specifically on my left eye creating a very uneven, unnatural look while on vacation this week. I've had lashes applied before lasting much longer and I'm unsure how these would last 3-4 weeks as stated on the website. Thankfully I had a livingsocial deal and did not pay full price! read more

I used to like this salon, however after several booking issues I think the public needs to be aware how difficult it is to make an appointment. I only come here for eyebrow shaping and only get it done by the owner. Each time I have tried to make a ten minute appointment to get my eyebrows done, Clarice is booked to the point that I literally could not even find an open appointment in the upcoming months - not even in December and it is now the end of May. I actually went through every single week of every single month of this year and not one day is available for an appointment. That leads me to believe she blocked her entire schedule off? Not quite sure how someone can be booked everyday without one opening easily visual....especially for an eyebrow shaping. I have given other girls there a shot at doing my eyebrows to avoid the frustration of booking with Clarice, but it was not worth the $17 with someone else doing it as the shaping was totally off. I unfortunately am done with this place, if you can't offer the services you say you provide then don't offer them. Maybe I'm not worthy of getting services here because I don't do lash extensions.... read more

Awful awful experience!!!! I had wanted eyelash extensions and was told to allow a few hours. I chose this place because it was convienient to my home, despite another salon that I looked into that was about $40 cheaper. But nonetheless, convienience won and I booked my appointment. I layed down while a novice (I still can't beleive I was charged $130 to have a girl work on me who only completed 5 of these extensions under supervision before but that's a whole other issue!) did the work. The 2.5 hours that I layed there, this girl had the worst breath imaginable which made the entire procedure so completley unpleasant.. try constantly holding your breath for a minute at a time for almost 3 hours. Not to mention that she was coughing the entire time. I would hope she used her elbow to cough into, but I can certainly tell you that after she coughed and then placed her hand on my face again, it was wet, warm and clammy. Needless to say I was sick the entire time of my vacation. Most of the eyelash extensions fell out immediatley.. the same exact day. One eyelash had migrated to the middle of my eyelid which I had to pull out myself. So I went on vacation not only sick, but with sporadic long eyelashes which looked ridiculous. I ended up spending $6 at Walgreens to buy cheap eyelashes (which I still use to this day and get so many compliments on!) just to make it through vacation. I called the salon and the woman I spoke to was very pleasant and offered to fix the issue but in the end, I am more happy with my $6 Walgreens eyelashes than I ever was with their $130 procedure so I opted to cancel my appointment. If you want to pay over $130 for a novice and unhygienic person to do your eyelashes, then this is the place for you!! read more
