I got the fried shrimp and the fried fish platter. I will tell you the shrimp was very good. Batter was nice and crisp and the fish portion was very large. Two fillets and I could only eat one with the french fries, so you get plenty of food. If you have a chance, do not pass up the pistolettes they are more than amazing. The service was very friendly, almost down home friendly. They're frozen meat section is very impressive to get meat that you can't normally find in other places. We ate in the parking lot but I had Yelp open to write this before we were back on the road. Everything was fresh, homemade, and seasoned right! The quantities are large and very fairly priced. First, the cracklins!!!! Y'all, they are so good. I lived in Lafayette for a long time, and these are as good as the ones I used to get there. Second, the shrimp was so good too. Super fresh! Homsi's #3 is a MUST stop when we are traveling to and from Louisiana. On the way, we stop for a little appetizer of boudin eggrolls. The boudin has great flavor and texture, and added inside an eggroll wrapper, who would've thought!! Its a little lighter than a boudin ball, in my opinion. They also offer fish and shrimp plates, but I have only had the boudin and cracklins. Sometimes they are really busy, so if you are in a hurry, I highly suggest calling ahead. They do have a drive thru, or you can order inside. There is also a small market inside with frozen boudin, and other offerings. read more

There's lots of places to get GOOD boudin, sausages and cracklings with friendly staff who smile and greet you not like the A hole that waited on my wife this morning. I have only been to this restaurant one time but I will not go back based on these reasons: 1. All that I ordered was Boudin. The girl picked up the Boudin out of a pool of grease with some tongs and wrapped it up for me. Gross! 2. The Boudin tasted like hashbrowns. If you have ever eaten it you know that that's not what it supposed to taste like at all. 3. The restaurant looks dirty to me. 4. The employees were not friendly at all. They all looked sad and mad. I always try to find the good in everything but I literally could not find one good reason to go back here. Maybe they have good Cracklin's. I don't know. Tonight I cooked some frozen spicy boudin I bought six days ago as I drove through Orange. It was late and nothing was open so I thought, "I'll just cook that boudin that's sitting in the freezer. That will hold me over. " I defrosted the boudin in the sink as I did some laundry. When it was ready, I cooked it in a saucepan on medium heat with a cover. I let it cool down a little bit. I took the first bite and washed it down with some shiner blonde. How do I describe that moment? Spicy comfort. I ate three links and had one more beer. I am from Texas, but have spent a lot of time in Louisiana and have eaten a lot of Cajun food. This so called Cajun restaurant is not worth the money. Ordered the shrimp poboy with Cajun rice and fries. The poboy was on a long hot dog bun and the rice was over cooked (a lot of hard rice) with very little seasoning. The fries were a little mushy, seasoning was ok. Will not be going back, don't waste your money. read more
