I do not understand these negative reviews! Most seem to be based on a single experience. I have been dropping off clothes here weekly for the past two years. While the prices have increased slightly (like everything else in the neighborhood), the service they provide is still well worth the price. Timeliness: same day laundry if you drop off in the morning; 2-3 days for dry cleaning. Prices: I don't agree at all with the statements by other reviewers about feeling cheated. In fact, they weigh your laundry in front of you, state out loud the weight they see (so you can dispute if necessary), and then print the receipt so you know what to expect. Other services: They have also sent out a fur coat of mine to be cleaned, as well as taken small mending (ripped seams, dropped hems) for around $10/piece. This place is a scam. They charged my card over $1,600 on accident...I wish I was kidding. He gave me a receipt and said "sign it" and i said "sir that's over a thousand dollars." I was respectful and didn't freak out. They told me to come back at 6pm because they couldn't figure out how to credit my card back. I came back and they gave me a receipt for a refund-- but the charge has just posted to my credit card with no refund. They had the audacity to charge me $20 for my laundry after the accident... so now I have two charges with no refund. GO ELSEWHERE. THEY ARE A JOKE OF AN OPERATION. i've been using Bliss since i moved to the ues (as a then-single lady) almost ten years ago. my husband mostly takes care of the drop off/pick up duties now but in both of our experiences, they have been the sweetest and most gracious and welcoming people in the neighborhood. during the height of the pandemic, they stayed open with limited hours when a lot of other launderers closed, and we are still so grateful for that. we're probably going to be moving out of the neighborhood soon and i just want everyone to know that Bliss is great and that they'll make you feel like family. read more

Bliss Cleaners, you rock. I moved into the area about six months ago, and since then have been manually lugging my laundry to that 24-hour laundromat on 89th and 1st. While I don't mind doing laundry myself, I found myself in a situation about a week ago in which I needed to get a load of laundry done, but wasn't going to have a chance to do it myself. As such, I did some Yelping, and found this place. Convenient? Check. They are right around the corner from my apartment. I walked over on a Saturday morning, dropped off my bag of laundry, and was told it would be ready same day. I did not get a chance to pick it up that same day, but when I went to go get it on Monday morning, it was ready to go, very neatly and tightly packed, and extremely clean. Upon unpacking, the clothing smelled fresh, was very clean (far better than I could have done myself, though I'm no laundry expert and probably have no idea what I'm doing), and left me very satisfied with the experience. Additionally, the prices were extremely reasonable (a little under $1/lb), and the total ended up being roughly what it would have cost me to do it myself. I will happily return to Bliss Cleaners, and will probably come back more and more consistently as this is extremely convenient. I read some of the reviews below, and since I'm fortunate enough to live close by, I can't comment on pickup/delivery experience, and since I don't have some asinine requirements of how my clothes need to be cleaned, I can only say that the folks working there seemed to know what they were doing and did a good job. Oh where do I begin... My boyfriend and I have been going to bliss for over a year now mainly because of the lack of good selection in the area. Generally we had a pleasant experience minus 2 ruined shirts blamed on us. This last experience put us over the edge and we will never go back. My boyfriend brand new shirt was not only shrunk but also had holes in it. When he went to complain the store manager could care less and again put the blame on us. This was within 2 months of a previous sweater returned with holes and my boyfriend was not going to let this one slide. The manager did not only refuse to give a refund of the shirt, he also did not apologize, and held our dry cleaning hostage since my boyfriend wanted to price of the ruined shirt to be deducted of the dry cleaning. Finally after a western style stare down the manager said he was sorry and that he will pay 20$ out of his own pocket for our dry cleaning. We have been going there almost weekly for dropping laundary and dry cleaning and for them to be so nasty about the whole situation lost them 2 great customers..... I will never go back to them and hope nobody else will either.... hopefully we will find a new place in the area but they all seem to have issues read more

Yelp has been letting me down lately! I went to this cleaners for some wash and fold stuff, and to get a hole patched up in jeans. With the wash and fold, they quoted me $14 for a basket full of stuff, and $2 extra for a buttoned shirt. It could've gone in the regular wash, but whatever. I asked about the jeans and the lady told me, on a Friday, it'd be $24 and she could get it back to me by Thursday. I told her I needed it sooner and she said "Wednesday"... so I started to try and tell her that my boyfriend was leaving sooner, but she just kept interrupting me and saying "Tuesday!" "Okay, MONDAY!" Finally I told her I was just going to take the jeans. I brought them to the place up the street (closer to 2nd ave) and they quoted me $12 and next day delivery. So that place has WAY better prices. Then, Bliss was supposed to deliver my stuff at 9am. Nothing. At 12:30 I called THEM, they told me they washed the stuff in my laundry basket but didn't wash the shirt yet (even though everything was supposed to have been done by 6:30pm the day prior). They asked if I wanted 2 different deliveries on it. I said yes. So, at 1:15, they still didn't come to my place (I am a block away), so I just called them and told them I'd pick it up myself. Crazy incompetent and definitely not better prices. The people at the desk were nice. read more

Go here. They are amazing and so nice. We just move from LA where wash and fold was really expensive. So bliss is super cheap (by our standard) and they do it all! Laundry, dry cleaning and alterations. You will usually find Grace working the desk and she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. They are a wonderful little family that own and run their business and they seem to love their customers back. We are so happy we found them just across the street but they also do delivery and pick-ups (I think)! The place is super clean and organized! Business hours are very reasonable and Grace even called me to let me know they were closing early due to the hurricane to give me time to get there and pick up my stuff. An Angel! Great business. Do not bring your dry cleaning here. Noticed stains - old ones that I had pointed out plus a common, solid yellow stain that looked like candy remnants - on two shirts that I picked up today. Chalked it up to a one time occurrence at the time. Proceeded to go home to check my other shirts and noticed varying stains on 6 additional shirts, one of which looked like the shirt was ran over by a car. Took all 8 to a different dry cleaner who had them all removed. Went back to ask for a refund, and was met with "we only wash, we don't remove stains." Not only do they not remove stains, but they apparently add their own as well. read more

Clean, bright, inviting facility, clearly well run, and manned by the most awesome people. They always have a smile ready, they're fast, they're courteous. The young lady who works the counter is great (we wave to each other through the windows every time I walk past, and I live four doors down, it happens a lot). My roommate and I both use their drop off/pick up services. Once, the roommate had a problem- something was delayed in being cleaned. They called to explain the nature of the delay and promised a time by which it would finished, then prioritized it and finished it early. Could not ask for better customer service. Worst customer service I've experienced at a laundromat. They were unable to communicate effectively over the phone, unable to deliver my clothes when promised, unable to deliver my clothes later. And then, to make matters worse, when I came to pick up my clothes, I was very rudely accosted by the employees. Never going to use their service again, which is a pity. read more

THE BEST! I've been going to them just about every week for 3 years now. They are fast, have great prices, amazing customer service. I always get all my socks back ; ) They have a hang dry service and the clothes come out like they were sent for dry cleaning. They clean everything! I will admit, I am a germaphobe... So if this place were a restaurant the sanitary rating would be an A+! They open early and close late. I get my close back super fast too! Do not go there. They cheat. I used them for 6 weeks in a row. Positive: The laundry smells cleaner than from other cleaners within these blocks. They are quick, but I live next door. Negative: - The overcharge you on the laundry. I weighted the laundry bags leaving and coming back (using a suitcase scale, that always matched the airline scales when flying) and they measured and charged every time 10-20% more. Last time they charged for 40 pound but, it was less than 36 pounds. That's fraud. - Communication is very limited. Most of their people do not understand the most simple requests like "no softener on the shirts". Biggest problem is cheating and trying to overcharge. Hard to trust them. read more

I love that this place is both a dry cleaner and a laundry drop-off. I love that it's well-lit, spacious and clean--unlike many others in the neighborhood which are dank and it doesn't seem feasible that anything remotely clean would come out of those sketchy places. I love that they take credit cards. I love that getting my pants hemmed costs only $10, and I love that I don't feel like they're secretly recording me when I change. I love that they can both dry clean and wash down comforters because we have an incontinent dog and sometimes we need a deep clean. I love that all prices are more than reasonable (laundry drop-off costs a mere $8 and then everything after 8 lbs. is 0.75 a pound). But more than anything I love that the family who owns this gem of a neighborhood business always has a smile for me whether I'm dropping off clothes, picking them up or just walking by. read more

Very poor customer service We have used Bliss twice as an alternative to washing the clothes ourselves wen we are very busy. The first time everything came back great. They folded and cleaned everything very nicely. This passed time, not so much. We handed the gentlemen a bag that we specifically said needed to be line dried, due in large part to my wife's maternity clothes that could not be put in the drier. They dried the entire bag!! While I was upset about my shirts it was nothing compared to the damage to my wife's new Rosie Pope maternity clothes. Which, by the way were purchased to last her though out her pregnancy. Everything was shrunk and no longer fit correctly. When we called they said they could try and stretch them, which we allowed them to do but to no success. We called and asked to be reimbursed for only my wife's clothes and they simply would not do it! The lady on the phone blamed us, then said she stretched them bigger then they were before (which is exactly what a pregnant women wants to hear), then said how could we tell, then offered to stretch them again! My wife is pregnant, you aren't suppose to do this to a pregnant women! It is not as easy as just going to buy a replacement.. If you ruin something you should replace it or provide adequate compensation. Very disappointing... read more

After a bad experience elsewhere I stumble in here with 50lbs of clothing and blankets due to the good reviews, and boy was I thankful the reviews were on point. One of the guys working there saw me coming with my "large loads" and not only opened the door but relieved me of them. I was then told that my 3 blankets would only be $40 to get cleaned TOTAL when the previous place was trying to charge me $35 each. They all seemed super friendly and the girl at the counter even listened to me vent about my horrible service elsewhere with a smile. They were able to do all my regular laundry and delivery it the same day and were even modest when trying to tip them. I would give them 5 stars but I haven't received my clothes yet and I would want to come here a few more times to make sure its a consistent thing, which judging by the other reviews, seems that way. Been going here for 4 years. Prices are reasonable, get clothes clean and I have received very few random socks in my wash and fold (only notice items that are added in, assume it works both ways). After trying every single cleaner in these few blocks, I can't believe I didn't try bliss cleaners sooner. I've been using them for 3+ months and the service & laundry is incredible. They fold and press the clothes incredibly neat and even sort my boyfriends clothes separate from mine. There is also 4 different detergents to choose from including organic, and their dry cleaning is very well done too. Never upset in the slightest. I usually have my laundry picked up and delivered and they're always at my door within 15 minutes of me calling. Highly recommend to anyone in the neighborhood. On my first experience here (and first time not doing my own laundry), one pretty expensive and fairly new lambswool sweater came back completely ruined (I counted 15 holes the size of an index finger). When I realized it and called them out about it, the employee denied any responsibility and used "we don't check for damage" as a defence. He also said that I should have brought up any complaints within 48 hours even though the item was folded (which I paid for) in a way that concealed all the holes. Love this place! Their pick-up and delivery is fast and, most importantly, free, and they don't even complain about my absurd 5-story walkup. They can always be at my door within an hour and even sooner if need be. Their prices are totally reasonable and so far they've done a great job with hang-dry items as well as wash-and-fold, which always smells lovely and is neatly packaged in plastic wrap inside my laundry bag.
