With all the dry cleaners here in NYC one would think they'd be cheaper at least they are in California and we hardly wore clothes there...go figure? Any how brought in a few items for alterations and they came back looking as if I'd sewn them...seriously who sewed them b/c it was the worst home ec. project I've ever seen and I paid over $59 for pants/skirt [1 each] highway robbery. This place was a lifesaver. I borrowed a friend's yellow dress to wear to a wedding and of course it came back with (many) red wine spots. I took it to one dry cleaner nearby who couldn't get the spots out and instead made them worse. In desperation I found Danny Boy's Cleaners, popped over, and told Tony my situation. He said he would try his best after it had already been to a different dry cleaner twice. I returned the next day and the dress was SPOTLESS!! Excellent service and very friendly...I've been going to Danny Boy's for about a year now and have been very pleased and happy with how quickly my laundry/drycleaning is done and also with the quality of the cleaning. Tony is an incredible guy and very accommodating...if there's ever any timing problems you might have with picking up clothes (after hours, or if you need your items by a certain time) - he'll find a solution. I live very close to this guys. I'm generally new to neighborhood but I'm not impressed for what I'm paying. My whites are coming out darker and more murky then before. Whats the point of separating your clothes if people don't add borax or something. Tony is really nice but one time charged me for a items that I hadn't received yet and I still new customer. I've waited for more than 2 weeks on two different occasions for clothing alterations as well. The thing that really irked me was their "don't' deliver to walkups" policy. What the heck. I haven't found an new cleaners-but I'm sure there are better out there! read more

Unorganized-Unprofessional-Irresponsible Those are the three words that come to mind when I think of this "cleaners" and of their staff. I went there for a matter of two months and I do a significant amount of dry cleaning weekly. In those two months, they ripped two of my shirts ( the first shirt I had to wait a week until they finally took responsibility and wasn't compensated fairly), my dry cleaning was regularly not on time, and the kicker is that staff has no problem YELLING at and DISRESPECTING their customers. Tony and his staff are friendly and have become a fixture in the neighborhood. Everyone that walks by the shop waives and Tony knows the entire community on a first-name basis. In the past two years, I have gone to Danny Boy's for everything on a weekly basis. I bring my dry cleaning, laundry and tailoring with fantastic results every time. Tony's mother works in the shop and she is so nice, one time she sowed my laundry bag to repair a tear. It's a family business and they accommodate my every need. I wear a suit 5 days a week and rely on Danny Boy for all my dry cleaning needs. Tony has even personally delivered items when I was in a bind and needed my laundry ASAP. My fiancé is extremely picky and she won't allow anyone else to touch her clothing. We were recently on vacation for 2 weeks and the hotel offered laundry service, but my fiancé insisted that we brought back dirty clothes because she didn't think anyone would do as good of a job as Tony and his staff. My wife and I have been going to these guys for a few years now. When dropping off clothes we're in and out of there quickly. Clothes come back quickly and cleaned according to our specifications. We've never had anything destroyed or lost. I had my wedding tuxedo alterations done here and they did a fine job. My wife has had numerous dresses and pants altered here as well and she has been quite happy with the results. Tony is a great guy and well liked in the neighborhood by the residents and business owners. If you're not happy with something he takes care of it no questions asked. I have going to Danny boys about for 5yrs and I live in new jersey but work in upper east side. The owner named Tony has been great for all these years and I don't need to go else where like local cleaners where I live. I go to him every other week to drop off my clothes by my car and not only he bring clothes to my car he even stays in my car while I get my clothes being altered. Just to name a few, he takes good care my name bran clothes, stains always out, shaves my lint of my sweater, even sew my label brands when they are dangling off the clothes. I don't normally write reviews (except for one scathing review about a horrible experience with a "restaurant," but that's neither here nor there) but I love Danny Boy and I want them to thrive. Tony (the owner) is awesome. I have been using Danny Boy for about 10 years now, and they are fantastic. I am sure there are alot of good dry cleaners in NYC, but what sets Danny Boy apart is their customer service. Tony is SO nice and accommodating and pleasant to deal with. They pick up from my building, and they drop off at no charge, and anytime I need something back sooner than usual (the normal turnaround for delivery of my dry-cleaned clothes is 1 or 2 days from when they get it) Tony makes it happen. I call him all the time to ask for things "rushed" or if I can have them back the next day (or sometimes even same-day), and he always says yes with a smile (I imagine). He's like the nicest guy ever. Incidentally, I also used his mom (who is so cute) for tailoring a few weeks ago and she did a fabulous job. It was a fancy dress and I wanted it changed all around, and the job involved removing pockets and taking it in, and the material itself was a rather unruly thick weave, and Tony had it back to me within a week and his mom did a stellar job. read more
