They had very nice shades of pink which I've been finding hard to find recently (try number 99!) So I was pleasantly surprise with that aspect too. The lady also noticed that the manicure had a flaw and redid the last layer of a few nails. I really appreciated that because it was already past 7pm at that point and I probably wouldn't have noticed until I got home. I visited this spa for a fingers and toes polish change and unfortunately was not impressed…read more Initially I was pleased with the price (its only $20 for a polish change for both fingers and toes). I become shocked, however, when I was told that the nail technician would not be filing my nails before applying polish. I told her I had never experienced this anywhere else and asked that she please file my nails, at least a bit. She obliged but filed them very minimally. Unfortunately her polish application was also sloppy and I had to clean up the cuticle and skin around my nails myself when I got home. I do have to say, however, that the staff at the front desk were lovely. They were friendly and helpful when I called to make an appointment and just as pleasant when I called again to change my appointment time. Overall, customer service was great at this spa, however the skill level of their nail technicians (or at least the one I had) could be improved.

I have never once wrote a review good or bad but to be blatantly ignored by someone who owns a business is not nice or professional and deserves a calling out. It took Maryam 3 hours to apply my first set ever of mink lases. Within a week most of them had come off - through no fault of my own as I did everything right after they were applied. I decided to do a refill after 3 weeks to try one more time before I made any decisions on whether to continue with the lases or not. Maryam clearly stated to me that she only had and hour an a half because she had an appointment to go to. I am a very easy going person so no problem BUT I do expect things to be done right. After an hour and a half my lashes were not as full as i would've liked but I understood she had to go so i was willing to come back within a couple of days to finish up. We made an appt for about 2 weeks later but she said she would try to fit me in sooner. The lashes once again did not stay on, within the hour they were coming off and by the time 24hrs had passed my left eye looked a lot different then the right. I texted maryam to let her know she said she didn't have any openings. I texted her again the next day and she didn't text me back. At this point her not texting me back has happened a few times over the course of a month and me trying to get in to see her for her to add lashes (I paid for unilimted). Firstly, my lashes should never have come off as they did. Even i recognize there's something wrong with that. Secondly 3 hrs to apply lases then 1.5hrs for a refill and you're still not finished the job, is a little lengthy. Thirdly and most importantly ignoring a customer is wrong. I don't care how busy you are. I gave her the option of either finishing the refill within the next 3 days or refunding my money. I never heard from her and its been a week. I don't ask for much but I do ask for common courtesy and to provide (in full) services which are paid for. On top of that I had contacted another salon to explain what had happened (as I was willing to go elsewhere just to avoid dealing with Maryam). She was appalled that it took so long to apply the lashes and she had heard of mylashcanada before and there were issues with the "secret" glue that they use. I advised Maryam I was not happy. I even offered a solution. A professional would not ignore this. I just wanted what I paid for. I didn't receive it. I have also contacted the better business bureau to lodge a complaint. To pay $240 for a set of lashes and then $90 for a refill, you would think you'd come out happy and loving your lashes. As much as I wanted to i didn't but whats most disappointing is that she didn't even attempt to fix it. So hopefully if you go there, you don't have a problem that needs resolving.

Maybe she was rushing? I have a wedding to go to and I'm feeling in the worst shape ever - a huge scab has developed on my face. She also spilled wax IN my hair, very careless. I paid EXTRA for a wax that's supposed to be good for sensitive skin because I didn't want to risk skin tearing. I know it's normal to have a small amount of skin tearing, but I have never had this experience before. Save your money. I paid about $80 including a tip and for a wax meant for sensitive skin. I'm also still plucking because there's still a ton of hair left. What a joke. Editing this review to add: I went BACK to the location to request a refund. I did NOT get a refund and the owner instead told me that I could get store credit - I'm sorry but who in their right mind would come back after such a bad experience. I had a wedding to attend the day after the wax, and I was mortified. I have NEVER had such an experience with waxing. The business has responded to the review basically blaming me for using "anti-aging" products. I use a Clarins moisturizer before bed - and it is not an "anti-aging cream". I'm sorry to say, the business owners are blatantly lying to you. I have NEVER seen such poor customer service, nor have I seen such a dishonest business policy. Just a note the wax that they try to sell you for "sensitive skin" - I did in fact use that! I believe the esthetician was rushing my service. You really didn't have to book me in if you were that busy. When I did go back into the store, the owner tried to sell me an intimate "brightening cream" for my private parts to use for my store credit. Are you serious? I have a scab on my face - why would you try to push an intimate cream. I have looked up the products that I redeemed for the store credit - again save your money and go ELSEWHERE.

Upon entering her studio what I found was unexpected. Van's small business is hands down the best place in Mississauga to get waxed/sugared and I will continue going back to her whenever I visit Toronto. Here's why: 1) Safe - She is the sweetest, soft-spoken, cute, humorous individual EVEERRR omg you know all I was thinking was "I hope this person isn't a weirdo" but thank the Lord she is safe, cool, and has two cute pugs. I'm scared of dogs but they're pretty cute hehe She was pregnant when I got my sugaring so I can't wait to see her baby when I come back! 2) Clean - If equipment and room is dirty I am OUT. BUT thankfully Van has high expectations with cleanliness and comfort. Using plastic gloves, face mask, trading out waxing sticks when using hard wax, etc. Walls are clean, pinted a cute muted baby color with educational posters about sugaring and waxes. Table you lay on is clean and comfy laid out with white paper. There are seats for others guests if you bring a friend. Floors were clean and nothing was dusty. 3) Professional - This girl keeps things professional. Provides the service and doesn't push you to do anything else. 4) Knowledgeable - She creates her own wax (a more dense kind and a soft kind) which is crazy bc I don't know how she mixes it but it lessens the pain when she sugars. Seriously. I get sugared every 3-4 weeks so I know what pain is. 5) Quick, Efficient, Detailed. "Leave no hair behind," That should be her motto bc I was so satisfied with her service. They speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I usually buy those bulk packages (x facial treatments for $x). The one I chose is around $30 each time (around 1.5 hrs) and includes cleaning, moisturizing, and brows. What I dislike is that they are very pushy to buy new products or services. One time the girl decided to do a different treatment on my face without me asking then charged me extra for it. The treatment made my face really itchy for the next few days too!
