My friend took me and my partner to this store and I immediately felt like the joys and nerdy passions of my childhood (and very much continues to this day) were being displayed and ready to be bought in this store! I felt like the inside parts of my brain--full of brightly-colored muppets and vintage earrings, handmade ornaments, and more--were in the store. The owner was so friendly, and had a personal story connected to every item and vendor she worked with. The store was bright, and fun, whimsical and truly a place to find a gift for your kids at heart, children or all ages, the whimsical sort! Please check them out! Cutesy little Sunnyside gift shop. I come in there every few months to look around and pick up a trinket or two. It is very hard to resist, and hold yourself off from buying anything once you walk through the door. It is a small space, maybe a size of a bedroom, packed literally to the ceiling. You can find anything from socks, pins, books, plushies, earrings, hats, candles, more socks, hats, keychains, baby clothes, puzzles, cards and so, so, so much more! Some things are handmade and/or locally designed. The store is mostly Sunnyside/ Queens/ NYC themed. The lady working there is friendly and helpful. Prices are no different then in other gift shops. Generally a good spot to pick up a gift, or just some retail therapy. read more

This was the first time that I have ever gone into this store. It is not a very large store but it is jam packed with so many different types of items. The name of the store is exactly what they offer. Some vintage clothing, handmade clothing, uniquely designed jewelry, candles, cards, plus more. Some of the merchandise is locally designed which makes them unique. I really like that this store offered a few items that represents Sunnyside Queens (refrigerator magnets, tote bag). I enjoy shopping in stores where I can find unique items that I did not know that I needed or wanted. read more

Bliss Vintage and Handmade is a gem in Sunnyside . The owner Violet is very crest with keen eye for merchandise. The magic of this store is the personable service and value of the handmade products. Some of the products are from local merchants and brig the community closer when you know the people who created something you love and buy. If you haven't been to Bliss you should visit the store. I have lived in this neighborhood for almost seven years and always walked by this store and never went inside. Last weekend I wanted to take a look inside and when I opened the door of the business I realized it was not open yet because the lights were not on. There was no closed sign that I saw on the door. The owner, manager, stock associate whoever she was ran to the door in lightning speed and slammed it in my face and told me they were not open yet. I will never go into this business again. Please be more courteous and work on your customer service skills. No one likes a door to be slammed in their face and be told "We're not open yet" in a rude dismissive tone. There are so many things to love about Bliss. The ever-evolving and creative displays, the signature smell that you carry home with you whenever you buy something from there, the love of all of things violet, the comfort, the thoughtful selection of every item, the representation of super-talented artisans, and an incredible owner with the sweetest, kindest heart. You'll always be able to find handmade gifts and cards, fabric and ceramic art from local makers, super awesome scents from morphologically (which you can't find everywhere). And if you're lucky you can even score the perfect dress that miraculously fits as if it were made for you. A cute, unique gift shop with handmade items and some vintage clothing in the back section. They have handmade jewelry, home decor, soaps, etc. Though I was surprised to see a bit of upcharging here. I noticed an essential oil brand that usually goes for 9.99 for 4 bottles at tjmaxx, was being sold for more than $15 per 1 bottle here. I understand the handmade items being pricey, but the other mass produced stuff that's commonly discounted at large retailers shouldn't really be up charged like that. Amazing spot for gifts and treat-yo-self little discoveries! The owner is just wonderful -- a talented artist with an eye for gorgeous pieces, and dedicated to supporting other small businesses (esp. local ones). And her prices are really reasonable for the quality of what you get! I tried out the Backyard Bees soap from here on a whim (the lavender goat milk one) and now it's all I use. It smells heavenly and leaves my skin super soft. I've also bought ADORABLE earrings, cards, and vintage gifts... everything has been a delight. read more

Bliss is my favorite shop! There is a carefully curated selection of vintage jewelry, clothing, shoes, ties, scarves, bags. You name it! There are also sustainably produced wardrobe staples available. The seasonal offerings are utterly delightful! Teas, candles, greeting cards, bath salts, handmade soaps, sunglasses, stickers, etc...There is truly something for everyone at this shop. You have to see it for yourself. Not to mention, it's run by the most lovely and hardworking Violet!
