I showed up and the tailor was very helpful and fixed up my clothes quickly and for a good price. The fit after is amazing, and I couldn't even tell any work was done. This establishment has a lot to learn about customer service. They pick and choose who they are giving a refund to. My husband has been given refunds on several occasions, no questions asked. I came in to return a very expensive hairdryer. After a weeks use, I realized it didn't suit my hair texture, and it was way too expensive for me to keep. Ironically, we picked it up at this location. When I brought in the dryer, with the box and all the paperwork, the woman at the register examined it like a scientist looking through a microscope. She then questioned why I was returning it after 6 days. I told her I used it twice and it didn't suit my needs (let me be clear, Nordstrom has a no questions asked return policy and as she stated before, I had the item for 6 Days!). She then disappeared to the back for a few minutes, when she returned I was told that I needed to return the dryer to the flagship store across town. When I questioned why, she said she couldn't take it back. I asked to speak with a manager and she said there wasn't one here. I said I wanted to speak with who she spoke with, she spoke with someone at the main store and a beauty manager would have to approve the return. I voiced my disdain at the absurdity of her request. She said she "understood my frustration." Really? I don't think you do..... I think you enjoy telling those who SHOP at Nordstrom that you can't help them. I went to the Nordstrom Flagship store, met a random person in the beauty department and they took it back, no questions asked. She also profusely apologized for the poor customer service I experienced. She said there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHY THEY COULDN'T HAVE TAKEN THE ITEM BACK. Nordstrom Local, your staff needs to be retrained in customer service. I will be taking my business to Bloomingdales. read more

This is truly one of my favorite places. I usually come here for returns and pickups. Normally, I send my feedback through the links I receive by email from Nordstrom, but those links stopped working for me, very often. Since I don't want to miss the chance to share my thoughts, I'm writing here instead. Most importantly, the people I interact with here are simply outstanding. The manager, Jessie, oversees all 3 Nordstrom Local stores in NYC, so he's not always at this location. But whenever he is here, he works right alongside his team, helping customers with true dedication. He is humble, professional, and always treats customers with sincerity. Even when he isn't present, his team clearly reflects his great leadership. They are consistently reliable and professional. Janelle is like an angel to me. So kind, warm, and always welcoming with a beautiful smile. Her thoughtful & considerate service has lifted my spirits many times. She is truly impeccable. Jen is incredibly smart and perceptive, super attentive and kind, and also really charming. Shae is always cute and fashionable, and very caring. I enjoy chatting with her because she is so sweet as well. Johnathan is extremely calm, polite, and gentle. No matter how busy he is, he always takes the time to greet me with a warm smile, even if he's working in the back. Maya does the same, she never fails to greet me nicely even during the busiest moments. Of course, she is efficient, too. I haven't seen Tiara for a while, but she has always been sweet and nice to me. I do hope to run into her again. Among the newer members, Jerome stands out with his stylish and cool fashion sense. His lovely smile always makes me happy to see him. Everyone here works efficiently, flawlessly, and with genuine kindness. I don't give compliments easily, this is my honest impression. They all show true heart in their service, and I am deeply grateful. Finally, I must say I'm very frustrated that I can't send feedback through the Nordstrom emails. This happens too frequently, so it's very annoying. I always want to express my gratitude and make sure the great service I receive is acknowledged as positive feedback. The in-store team works so hard and deserves recognition, so I truly hope this issue is fixed ASAP. The store staff are doing their best--Nordstrom's system should do the same. Avoid this location! They pick and choose what they will allow for returns and make up their own policies that are not written down anywhere or mentioned on their receipts. When I asked them why the policy regarding returns wasn't mentioned anywhere, they couldn't answer the question. They also racial profile their customers and lie about the availability of managers to process returns to avoid conflict. Horrible experience and customer service! Gone are the days when teams would go above and beyond for their paying customers. Now they just stare at you while they discriminate and make up policies. This location has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and I will most likely not shop at Nordstrom again because of the awful team at this local location. read more

I recently purchased this beautiful Kate Spade bag for my best friend's birthday and Keith hooked me up. I had my gift shipped to the store--but there wasn't a gift option for wrapping it. When I got to the store Keith "flew in" and saved the day. Not only did he box the gift for me, he took off the price tags (thank you Keith) and gave me an awesome bag to hold this huge gift. I had a wonderful welcoming customer service experience. I was invited to chat while I was given all the valuable information about Nordstrom Services. Each department was explained without leaving me feeling pressured to the extreme. I was told I could use the tailor for non Nordstrom purchases. They get to know their customers to better serve their needs. I learned they will have a new full line of merchandise in Columbus Circle. I am attaching photos of the info. Two new locations will open in the future. I took lots of photos today. I had fun. I received a sewing kit and a shoe dust cover. The Vegan Tote will really be handy on rainy days. I'm a walking advertisement! Better get yourself in to the new Upper East Side location. You can sit, relax, converse with friendly employees, and get free gifts. Enjoy! read more

Went yesterday and the employee was really rude. I understand people have bad days, but she was so cold to me for absolutely no reason. I politely lined up and waited my turn, she snapped loudly CAN I HELP YOU. I went up to make my return smiled said "Hi How are you?" and was ignored. I awkwardly tried to make small talk, but she ignored me and insisted on acting like I was being processed for a crime rather than returning shorts. I felt so uncomfortable and tbh would never come back here for anything. If you work in customer service, part of your job is being polite and friendly. If you can't return a greeting, maybe you should look into a part of the retail sector that's not client facing. read more

I had two shipments coming in on different days and tried to call to extend the shipment that had already arrived until the second one arrived as well. I called 5 times, 2 calls with no response and 3 calls of them picking up, not saying anything and then hanging up on me. read more

This location is an absolute dream, I have a great experience every single time. Each team member I have encountered over the years has been friendly, helpful, and eager to make sure I get in and out as quickly as possible with no issue. Yesterday I came in for a return and a pick up and I left with a HUGE homemade brownie from one of the wonderful male employees and given facial samples by an equally wonderful female employee (I wish I had names, but thank you). During the pandemic, I sometimes have to order and return multiple items due to size and fit, and I am never given any issue here. I feel very comfortable trying on at home and bringing back without judgement. Love the Nordstrom Local concept and the convenience - you can do ALL online returns (they charge $5 shipping for ANY online returns - not just Nordstrom returns), alterations, pick ups, and gift wrapping. The team here is great and the process is pretty seamless so my return took literally 3 min! They also take returns for The Rack which is great since the lines at the Union Square & Herald Square locations are always notoriously long. read more

I came here for the first time today to pick up an online order. I was in and out of here within 5 minutes or less! As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted and assisted and the staff was so nice as well. There were tons of orders placed along the wall for people ready to be picked up. Really nice addition to the neighborhood. I have loved Nordstrom's for years and stayed loyal due to growing up with them in Seattle. I am used to returning things to the rack stores, through mail or waiting till I got back home to Seattle. Gives me more comfort when buying, knowing if I don't love it I can simply return... the little things... This place reminds me of the "old days" when the Nordstrom name was equal to great service. I've picked up products a few times and have done returns and each time the service was polite, efficient, fast yet considerate and professional. Once, when my item did not arrive as expected - the staff tried very hard to help by calling the store on the west side to see if they can send the item. Even though she was unable to help me- I appreciated how hard she tried. Love this Nordstrom outpost! I brought in a dress to be shortened - the hem was curved and a different fabric - and they were able to recut and repeat the same design!! Now it looks made for me :) My kids also love the location, and want to come back with me when I pick up alterations since they know where the juice boxes are. Thank you Nordstrom!! I just learned about this while researching something else on the Internet and was happy to discover it. As another reviewer says, it really beats trekking all the way downtown and you also save the pricey return fee if you send it back by mail. Very convenient to have as an option. I do wish that it was an outlet store too where you could also buy clothes while you're there. Otherwise for its purpose it's very good to have uptown this way. I originally came to pick up my order a few weeks ago. I had checked the tracking of my order and it said my order was delivered. When I went to pick up from Nordstrom local, they "couldn't find it." The lady who helped me was so sweet and called the delivery service to try and find out more information. After about 20 minutes, a hot cider offered later, she took my information and reordered the items again. She said within a few days (at most) I would be contacted to let me know when my reordered items was in. Fast forward a week or so later, I hadn't gotten a call yet, when I then received an email from someone else working in customer service. They said my order had been there and is waiting to be picked up. I was confused by the email because they made it seem like why hadn't I picked up my order. I hadn't picked it up because I was waiting for a call I never got and obviously didn't know my order was there. I told them I would pick up my order the next day after someone also called me the same day the email was sent. I was unable to pick it up the next day so I called a few days later to say I was coming and to check if my order was there and they said "it wasn't there." They couldn't find it, it wasn't returned, but now it was no where to be found. This was so confusing because literally a few days before my order was there. Then fast forward to today, I got another email in response to when I emailed last week saying I don't understand how my items are missing again when I was told it was there. The person was rude in the email (stating they called me twice) which wasn't true. And that after calling me twice and I never came, which is also not true. I didn't come because after I called to check if it was there just in case and they said it was gone. So I'm giving two stars not because of the customer service at the store but the customer service through email was rude and blaming me. If you can have Nordstrom send items to your address instead of to Nordstrom local i suggest you do it. These occurrences not only happened to me but a lady when I first went to try and pick up my order the first time I ordered it said she tried reordering twice and for some reason it was "missing" at Nordstrom local as well. There is obviously a huge problem with orders being delivered when they either really haven't or have "gone missing." Never should a customer service rep be rude or blame the customer. They told me they were not great at gift wrapping... they continued to tell me how they had 3 trainers for gift wrapping and were all taught differently. . Given its holiday season and they are heavily promoting their pick up service and gift wrapping, it seems odd. Had I known, I would have just opted for delivery on my on-line order. read more
