I was scheduled with Michaela for a Halo face framing type situation and was greeted very kindly by her and everyone else at the front desk. They offer you water and other beverages there as you arrive. There is also local crafted jewelry in the sitting area to browse. Getting back to hair, Michaela was very personable, funny, nice, and professional. The experience was nice and it feels like you're just chatting with an old friend. Honestly I probably chat too much but the story of my life LOL. They take you back to the hair washing area which is quiet and Serene, ready for relaxation. They also offer you and I mask type essential oil situation where you can pick different scents. After your hair is done washing you get processed and then you go back to your sitting area. It took a little bit to get my hair to the desired look but Michaela and the salon made it very easy to work with and get the results we were hoping for. I appreciate them for being so accommodating and ease of everything. Michaela is a great stylist and I would recommend booking with her anytime! I decided to allow my hair to grow long enough to donate, then began the task of finding a…read morehairdresser who could give me an easy care cut. This was soon after salons were allowed to reopen during the covid pandemic, so getting an appointment was particularly challenging. I'd already determined that Anna Craig was my top choice because my hair is naturally quite curly and her reviews everywhere are fabulous. She specializes in cutting curly hair. The first couple of times I looked at her appointment calendar, there was a 6-8 week wait! One day I checked again and there must have been a cancelation because I was able to get an appointment just a few days later. Anna knew the correct way to bundle my hair for the donation, and made quick work of that. She took one look at the photo I'd brought with me, and within 35 minutes, she'd washed, cut, and dried my hair to perfection. It's been a couple of weeks since my cut and I still love it. I went to this salon for over a year. I got hair extensions with Brittany; however she wasn't…read moreproperly trained at all; which she told me on my last visit that she trained herself. I reside 30 minutes from the salon and the last several sessions she put my hair extensions in with thread and not hair thread. As a result, they came undone several times over the 3 chances I gave Brittany. I had to spend over two hours between driving to the salon and traveling that it caused my plans to get ruined. The last time I went she did such a poor job that within four days of going back and forth to get them fixed they came undone within 24 hours each time within 7 days. Of course there was a big event I was working on and needed to be in cocktail attire with my hair done. She knew that and basically didn't care after the fourth time she messed up. She told me it was my problem and the salon didn't have anyone else to help me. For the money I paid this was unacceptable. I was super angry. I reached out to Brittany and she told me she wasn't going to help me again unless I paid. I should pay for her lack of knowledge and lies?! I don't think so. She even told me her boss agreed with her and she told me she didn't want to be my hair dresser anymore. So now I couldn't go to my fundraiser due to half of my extensions falling off my head and no amount of thread or pins would keep them in place. I looked horrible! I was brutally dismissed by someone trying to bully me out of ever coming back, and she took hundreds of dollars of my hard earned money. She made me feel like her lack of skill was my fault and lied to her boss so that when I called to get support two hours before my fundraiser they told me I wasn't meant to have extensions. Clearly they don't care about customer service. So I went to another salon and found out that the extensions were installed with thread for sewing clothing instead of thread for hair. She also caused my hair to get pulled out when they tried to get them out. Once I went to a real professional I never had an issue with hair extensions again. So no Brittany; I can get hair extensions; you just didn't want to get caught for your repeated mistakes. I don't like to say a bad word in reviews unless it was justified repeatedly. Mauve and Brittany were so rude and wouldn't assess her lack of professionalism and blamed me instead of trying to fix the issue. I now go to another salon and never had another problem again. So I guess I can get extensions; just as long as they are put in by a trained professional. I will never recommend or ever go back to this salon ever again! No one has the right to blame a customer for poor work and tell the customer she didn't want to work with me again because it was my fault that she had to waste time fixing her mistakes. Lesson learned ask about credentials instead of assuming the salon checked the skill of a worker and reviewed their professional certification.
