The summer humid weather in North Carolina is not ideal for those of us with curly frizzy hair. I booked my daughter and I blowouts here to get us thru the heat and humidity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had grabbed two 3pm appointments, but got a call the day before that one of their hair stylists had called in sick so they'd have to do a 3pm and 3:45pm appt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not ideal to sit around, but we were tired after a duke tour so fine to just sit around and rest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter also walked around the shopping center for a bit while I got my hair done. Morgyn did a great job, although took a little longer for her to get our unruly locks straight in comparison to our blowout bar at home. I do think back at home they are just used to our hair and we are usually in and out in 25-30 minutes. This took a full 45 minutes. However, the finished product for both of us was great and many days later it still looked great even with all the heat and humidity. We try to rock those blowouts for as long as possible (thank you dry shampoo!) and this held up to the test! read more

I don't know where to start. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made an appointment through the owner for a trial half up hairstyle for my daughter's wedding. She was so nice to talk to and told me she would book me with her most experienced stylist[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived on time there were 2 stylist working on clients and no one was at the front desk. Neither stylist acknowledged I was there for about 20 minutes. Not even a smile or anything[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My stylist was young and nice enough but she was absolutely not all that experienced. It seemed she made a half effort. I think she spent less than 30 mins on my hair and that's with me having her change things. I had pieces of hair that were straight and some curled. The back looked ridiculous. I don't have to have perfection but this was just lazy and it cost me $100. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called several times to talk to the owner. I left several messages. I was nice and didn't say what I was calling about. I simply said I wanted to talk to the owner about a mother of the bride appointment so the owner wouldn't be put off. I never received a phone call back. I left 3 messages[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I'm from Greensboro and have used blow dry bars. I actually would fill-in at the front desk for a friend that owned one. I know how blow dry bars should behave. Blo in Chapel Hill is bare bones. It's not pretty inside like most blow dry bars, No offer of a drink, no "it's good to see you", no "thank you for coming today" I think they are used to working on students that don't care about customer service. If you want to be pampered and have a special girls outing this is not the place. read more

I walked by last minute and asked if they could give me an updo. They accommodated my request, gave me a fabulous hair do and it only took 20 minutes. The manager was excellent and so friendly. I highly recommend this business. read more

There terms and conditions in the fine print and not completely clear or explained. Once you freeze or cancel your membership, in terms of your hair appointment free credits that you earn, they limit when you can use them. I would just caution those who tried to do the membership. They are not always available via telephone and if you go online and you try to make a reservation, your are charge for your free service via credit card. There's also claims that you're able to reach out via email which it wasn't clear either. Their hairstylist are lovely and they do a good job. It's the methods I mentioned above. read more

I have been a member for just about a month. The first time I got my hair done there I wouldn't wash it for 3 days. It was bouncy, shiny and gorgeous. Yesterday I thought. I'd treat my mom and me to a little glamour. As soon as you walk in the door the treat you like family. When you step out the door you're ready for NY fashion week. If you have and event coming up or you just need some pampering. This is the place. Memberships are reasonable and come with 2 blow outs a month. read more

One star for the sweet receptionist, one star for the location. Other than that--all the stylists do is pull hard on your hair with a brush until it hangs straight and flat. No volume, no movement, no style whatsoever. Gave this place a try when my go-to blow bar, Blow Out Bella at Southpoint was closed. Will not go back and stick to Bella in the future. read more

I went to Blo for my wedding styling. I wanted simple soft waves, but my hair is coarse and frizzy and generally hard to style, so I was a little nervous. Tamani was so kind and knowledgeable and did a great job with my hair, exactly what I wanted. It actually held up for hours even in outdoor June humidity! I had high hopes for this place and was even considering a membership prior to my first visit. I just requested a simple blowout. The result was not professional quality at all. The "stylist" kept using a curling iron even though I asked her not to. Spend a little extra and go to a pro salon. Otherwise save your $$ and do your own hair at home.
