Horrendous! The stylist, in a hurry to blow out my hair had the dryer on high the entire time holding it next to my scalp. Even when I jerked away in pain saying she was burning my scalp, she continued with high heat burning my scalp several more times. I have shoulder length medium thick hair. The stylist started my shampoo at 7 minutes after the hour and I was out of the chair 26 minutes later. The appointment is 45 minutes. The same stylist on a prior visit was unable to locate a towel to place around my neck for shampoo. Instead, there was a flimsy piece of cloth no larger than a face cloth she draped over a shoulder. Needless to say- I walked away from the wash basin with the back of my dress soaking wet. In addition to burning my scalp, I asked for "lots of volume." I walked out with helmet head. This is not the first time either. Last November (2025), when I first started going to blo Knox, the stylists were amazing. Very talented. Took their time to insure you were happy with the results. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the year there has been a considerable decline in talent. It seems the stylists are constantly changing. The styling products are either terrible or the stylists do not know how to use them. Two days after a blowout my hair was greasy and dull. I bring my own products to use now and at least my hair is not dull! I initially shared my concerns with the manager via email. It took more than 2 weeks to get a response and that was to offer me more blowouts. The skill of the stylists has not improved. Last year I purchased many blowouts during a holiday special. I am almost finished with the pre-paid blowouts. Once I am done, I will go to Drybar where the products are exceptional and the stylists highly skilled. At least I will not get first degree burns on my scalp. read more

A previous comment by the owner states "we love curly hair and we're very skilled at blowing it out". That is not true at all! I booked the blow out with bonded extensions, deep conditioning treatment, and dream coat application. My hairstylist was nice however they did not have experience working with curly hair. My stylist did not properly scrub my scalp and only applied the shampoo/conditioner at the top of my hair. The "deep conditioner" was not combed through my hair at all. My hair still smelled dirty after her "washing " my hair. I was a bit surprised that after "washing" my hair, the hairstylist did not use a round brush of any kind while blow drying my hair. She just used a blow dryer to dry my hair about 80%. Anyone who's worked with curly hair before knows curly hair has to be blow dryed with a round brush to create enough tension to straighten the roots while drying the hair. I even asked why a round brush was not used, and the response was that "sometimes they do use a round brush and sometimes they don't". The response was a bit odd considering I've never been to a blowout hair salon that doesn't use a round brush. Once my hair seemed dry enough,my hairstylist attempted to start straightening my hair and extensions. The back of my hair was "detangled" with a fine tooth comb and while this was happening I could feel the damage occurring. The hairstylist began trying to flat iron my hair and I could tell that some pieces were still wet. Fearing more damage to my hair, I excused my self to the bathroom to assess the possible damage. Any experienced hairstylist knows how fragile curly hair is and I could not let this process continue. I walked out and kindly let the hairstylist know that I was expecting a salon more experienced in curly hair. I went home and cried because as you can see from the pictures my hair did not look clean at all. My scalp was on fire as well, so I had to wash my hair and blow dry it myself. After speaking to my boyfriend, I sent an email follow up requesting a refund for the service and have not received a response. 0/10 do not come here! I'm now wondering how the stylist was able to get licensed. Also was never offered any refreshments as shown in other yelp reviews. read more

DO NOT EVER GO HERE! The company has zero integrity. Had a membership, asked to cancel, was told it would be handled in person and they continued to bill. And after the fact won't refund me for their establishments mistake. Mind you I had the membership for months and maybe used twice and I was only asking for a refund from when I TRIED TO CANCEL. Also will not respond to emails. They're terrible. So many better options out there who have integrity! read more

I scheduled an appt for 12:30 on 9/6/25. I have a confirmation email stating the same. I showed up time and was told that my appt was scheduled for noon and I had been charged a $25 no show fee. I showed them my confirmation email and they admitted the mistake was on their end and they would reverse the charge. One week later I went for another appt and said I had not received my $25 refund. They apologized and promised their manager would handle it right away. It is now been almost 2 weeks and I have still not received my refund nor have I heard from a manager. On top of all of this I was told on my most recent appt that I had to pay $15 more than my Blo tab credit would cover because I have "bonded extensions". I do not, nor have I ever, had extensions. I have had dozens of blowouts at Blo and have never paid more than a standard fee. I am beyond disappointed and quite frankly angry at the way I have been treated. I will never visit this location again. I have 2 remaining tabs which I will use at another location and will then be sticking with Drybar exclusively. read more

I had an appointment on 10/4 at 8:15am at the Knox location in Dallas, TX. I arrived at 8:18am, checked in, and waited a bit to be seen. This was my second visit. When I met my stylist, she asked what kind of blowout I wanted, and I told her "beach waves." As she started washing my hair, she mentioned, "you have a lot of hair, we'll have to charge you a fee for extended time," which was fine -- I just wasn't aware of that policy since it was only my second visit. However, from that point on, the entire service felt focused on that one issue. Multiple staff members came by and repeated comments about the "extended time fee," which felt very unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. While I was sitting in the chair, my stylist told me, "if I don't tell you, I'll get in trouble because it's our busy season." Then, as another stylist came to help blow dry my hair, I overheard a comment -- "damn" -- which was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. I felt awkward and uncomfortable for the rest of the service. My first experience here was nothing like this. Later, another stylist mentioned I'd also be charged to detangle my hair, which I also wasn't aware of. At that point, I just sat there in silence feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. During curling, my stylist even got pulled away mid-service and later came back saying, "oh, my leads asked if I told you about the extended time charge." Overall, the entire experience felt rushed, unprofessional, and uncomfortable. I wasn't offered water, tea, or any hospitality during my visit. My first appointment was great, but this one was completely different. Truly disappointed in the service I received today. Moral of the story if you have thick hair don't go here. read more

I booked a blowout through ClassPass last week, assuming I'd only need to tip the stylist. I have naturally thick, curly hair, but it's very manageable. However, as soon as I sat in the chair, the stylist informed me that I might be charged up to $15 for every additional 15 minutes we went over the standard 45-minute time slot. In the end, I did have to pay the extra $15. While I didn't say anything at the time, the more I think about it, the more it doesn't sit right with me. I've been to Blo Bar a handful of times and have never been charged extra, and I've been going to DryBar regularly for five years without ever being charged beyond the standard blowout cost. The experience itself was great, and everyone was super friendly, but I can't help feeling disappointed about the extra charge, especially since it seems tied to having curly hair. It's never been an issue for me before. I just wanted to share this for anyone with textured hair considering a blowout- be aware that there might be an additional cost. read more

Great staff! I'm handicapped and was having a problem finding handicap spots. The young lady at the desk came outside, got in my car with me to show me garage handicap parking and it was steps to the back door. She said in the future just call an we will open the door. Samantha did my blow out, very down to earth an did a great job. Trying to find a blow dry bar after my weekly stylist of 8 years, at Drybar Highland Park decided she no longer felt comfortable doing my hair. She could have at least told me personally or by text.
