It's surprising to me that Block 15 has 600+ reviews and is rated 4.5 stars on Yelp... because the food is not great. If I were to rate just the beer, I'd give it 5 stars. But as is the case with most breweries in my experience, the menu is an attempt at "elevated" bar food/new American cuisine that falls short. We had the Thai Shrimp Cakes, Magic Mushrooms and Fish and Fries. The shrimp cakes were mostly like hush puppies with bits of shrimp in them - if they had been advertised as so, then sure, they're good. If you're expecting to actually taste shrimp, then not so much. The mushrooms would've been great had there not been such a heavy blanket of bread crumbs all over the top - each initial bite was tasty then finished with an overwhelming mouthful of dry bread crumbs. And the fish was bland and lacking salt or flavor. The best part of the meal were the fries. We probably ordered wrong. Most people around us were eating burgers and sandwiches, so perhaps we should've followed suit and just stuck with the basics, which is probably what they're best at. read more

Pretty good. If you're looking for a pretty good meal with a pretty good beer and pretty good service for a pretty good price, this place has you covered. Sometimes that's all you want. The last time I was there I ordered the linguine. The menu said "Fresh linguine tossed in our own made from scratch garlic cream sauce. Topped with parmesan cheese, grape tomatoes and basil." I should visit there again since it's been a long time. I do have a different perspective on the place than most people have, and it's very positive. I was working in HVAC service in '09 and I was sent there for maintenance on their air conditioning system. (I also have a background in restaurant work). I got to see the kitchen and all, and talked to the manager. The kitchen was impressively clean and the boss was impressively cool. Thumbs up! :) read more

4.5 stars this time around Just me and my Dad. Our first OSU Dad's weekend together, he kinda fixed my car, paid for groceries, paid for food, paid for gas, paid for costco. YUP!! thanks Dad!!! :D You're awesome! Dad was in the mood for something American as usual. He wanted to go to Ruby Tuesday but I thought the latter of going to a chain restaurant when he can enjoy local good eats. Good thing we came early since the dinner crowd started to pile up as soon as we got our food!! I had dad try some of my Marionberry Wheat ale although he's not much of a beer fan he did say it was pretty good. I was hoping this experience for him at a local brewery/pub would put him and i in good spirits until my Southwest chicken salad came with only 4... pushing 5 strips of cold measly "grilled" chicken breast strips. "shit this is going to suck..." my thoughts spoke as we waited for the rest of the plates to show up. Luckily the Shrimp Salad saved the day with a nice heaping of shrimp which dad ate up and left most of the greens as we split the BBQ chicken which made up for the lack of chicken in my salad. And hellloooo fried corn bread! I've never had deep fried corn bread and it was the bomb. I must say my mouth was quite a happy camper! The beer battered fries that came with the chicken was frickin addicting. Too bad my stomach couldn't accommodate the space to handle all that food and beer. Dad was happy and so was I. That BBQ chicken saved you this time Block 15!! Note to self: don't get the salads here, get the real manly food stuff. FYI: FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS THEY SERVE HOUSE SMOKED BABY BACK RIBS. Get some! Another fantastic experience, but this is my second visit and first post Covid. We ordered online and did a pickup. The food was ready when they said it would be and the food was great. I had the Pub Burger and my daughter had the Korean Rice Bowl along with sharing a basket of Garlic Parmesan fries. I enjoyed a Bloktoberfest to go with it and it was tasty! Excellent Märzen! Super pumped I got to finally try one of my fave beers Sticky Hands straight from the source. All the beers were phenomenal and I definitely recommend doing a flight so you can try all the goodness. The food was tasty pub fare. The burgers are HUGE the kind you can't sit down you just have to go for it. The service was excellent and she even brought us some rad stickers to boot! read more

Craft beer, bourbon, cheap bites... For what it is, Block 15 does a pretty stand up job in this college town of Corvallis, Oregon. The multi layered space has tons of room so it's hard to imagine ever enduring too long a wait. But given the happy hour specials, I can see it getting a bit tight during prime imbibing hours. With inexpensive snacks in the $2-$4 range, tons of craft beers, plenty of distilled rye, and playlists friendly to a millennial soundscape, it'd be a place I could see myself becoming a regular had if I lived here. read more

Wow, where to start: great beer list ranging from fresh Pilsner to barley wine. Emphasis on the malty side with lots of big dark beers to help you get through the winter. Great service at the bar: a smile, tasters, comparisons, and yes to making a change from the menu. I tasted most of the beer list, but the Super Nebula kept my loyalty - full, chocolaty, balanced and smooth at over 10% alcohol. I came here on visitation during finals week and we had to choose a place to eat around town. This was a highly recommended place by my cousin, so we came here based on that. This was the only place I tried and thought it was pretty good based on my "town expectations". I was very entertained when I was driving down the 99 and all of a sudden the rural land was no more and there was a Panera Bread right in front of me lol Environment - this is a brewery so the environment definitely felt like it. There are a lot of tables, sports decorations and TVs to go around. A bar appears to your right upon entrance and the hostess table as well. Block maximized their space by having a 2nd level and this is where I sat at for dinner. The environment was nice and it's definitely good for talking as it is not too loud. The bathrooms are not extremely dirty as well which i like a lot. haha oh yeah! And of course, chalk tables for kids to draw on... or the kind inside of you haha Service - There was absolutely nothing wrong with the service... 5/5! Upon waiting for our table, we received a beeper number even though we were sitting right in front of the hostess. We were promptly escorted to our table and the waitress was really nice. Oh, and when you get your number to wait, the hostess gets your number and they will text you when your table is ready. This way, you can wander around the town and not have to worry about waiting around or losing your spot. Ingenious idea! Food - When you're at a brewery, that mans you have to get some burgers... duh! Lol The pricing was kind of high for a dish.. but I guess that's as good as it gets around here in Corvallis. 1) Meatloaf Sandwich - ohmygosh, my friend got this is and it is my absolutely favorite thing that I ate there. In fact, I wish that I got it first. This is probably one of the biggest sandwiches I had eaten, and densest as well. The meatloaf was between two slices of bread and the meatloaf itself was deliciously sweet and salty at the same time. The perfect thing about it also was that the tomato and lettuce stayed intact and within the sandwich. The worst thing about eating burgers/sandwiches is if everything falls apart. Paired the fries with some ranch and it was a perfect meal. 2) Regular burger done medium rare - a very basic and normal choice. The patty was grilled nicely and I paired the fries with some BBQ sauce for extra taste. Delicious. 3) Reuben Sandwich - I didn't personally try this sandwich but my cousin who got this said this is his main order when he comes here. So I wouldn't undermine this sandwich. Get it if you love Reubens. Overall, Blocks is your typical brewery and restaurant. However, it's probably one of the more delicious restaurants around this small town :) i recommend this for a casual eat or date. read more

Stopped in before a Beavers football game, busy place, but that is what you should expect when the beer is great. Staff was friendly, and even though we didn't want to wait an hour for a seat to get food, it was easy to order from the bar and sit or stand outside to consume your beverage. Food and beer are excellent here. Service was crappy. I had a few of their brews, and found them all very enjoyable and unique. I had the Kimchee Burger, which used the more mild form of Kimchee, but quite good too. Service, however, lacked for us. We had four people in our party. The restaurant was busy. We were offered a table in the "game room", and was promised there was a server working that room. So we accepted. It took about 15 minutes, after I complained of no service, that someone finally came to take our order. After the food was brought, no one came by to check on us. I had to go complain again to get someone to take more drink orders. I was told, by a different person, that no one was working the "game room", and that if we needed anything, to go get it at the bar. I felt really mislead by the staff, who promised we would be taken care of it we sat in the game room. I like the food and beer here, but I felt ignored by the stsff. read more

Me and my husband ordered takeout from here yesterday for lunch and we were very pleased with the quality. He got the BBQ burger and I got the blue cheese burger and both were very tasty. Not sure how their beers are because I mostly visited here before I was 21, when I was living in Corvallis for school. I can say however that out of all of the many places I've ordered sweet potato fries, this place still stands to be my favorite ! Also love their burgers! I apologize that I can't remember which specific ones I enjoyed the most, but I don't remember there being a time when I thought I made the wrong decision so many of them must be good :p Chalkboard tables are also fun to draw on when waiting for food! read more

Depending on what time of day you want to wait, there's going to be a wait, but just sit at the bar & have one of their excellent beers or cider (or bourbon). Block 15 has a good selection of beer choices. While I didn't try any of their beers, and therefore can't attest to them, I can say that the food here isn't that great. My mom and I both had items off the December specials menu. My beef stroganoff contained a lot of mushrooms and meat, but unfortunately, it was badly over-salted. At the same time, I felt that my mom's apricot chicken melt was overly sweet; the sweetness ruined what would otherwise have been a good sandwich. read more

I can say with near certainty I probably wouldn't have my degree if Block 15 had been in Corvallis when I was going to school. I would have spent every last second and $ on their ridiculously good beer. Lucky for me back then it was just a college bar where I drunkenly embarrassed myself on the dance floor a few times. High quality beer. I haven't met one here I haven't liked. Even the Kolsch I had on my last visit rocked and I'm not a big fan of that style. If you ever see the ESB on tap it is a must try as well. My favorites among the regular offerings include the Aboriginale-a very well put together Old Ale and the Alpha IPA. They cellar many of their beers and on the 15th of each month they bring a keg of one of these hidden gems up where it will promptly sell out. The space itself is cavernous, wrapping around the bar with more space upstairs. I like to chill in the back room with the tv and shuffleboard. Still haven't managed to try any food except the sweet potato fries which are pretty delightful. The best deal for sure is $4 off a growler fill on Sundays. I highly recommend getting the taster tray ( it takes two trays to try everything so bring a friend). The staff is always bustling around making sure everyone has a tasty beverage to enjoy. Hats off to any current beer-loving Beavers who can manage to get any studying done with this place so close to campus. This is a fine establishment. We stopped in while in town for a wedding after the groom recommended the brewery. I got a taster flight and a pint and all 6 beers were really solid and flavorful. We got some eats and were really happy with our burgers. The hand-smacked patties tasted fresh and surprisingly healthy. We finished off w/ some blueberry cobbler which really sealed the deal on our delicious meal of food and drink. There was a lot of styles of beers to choose from, I wish I could have tried them all. All I can say is that I wish we had Block15 in Seattle. I know we have a lot of brewpubs here in Seattle already but this place was solid and I want moar. ;) read more

We came here to order a few drinks and dessert after out dinner around 9:30pm. 2 beers + 1 root beer + 1 dessert = $15 [+] They have a very good selection of beers and a good happy hour menu. The service we received was very pleasant and attentive. I had their house brewed root beer. It was very delicious. Very different from other tap root beer that I've had in the past. It had a strong vanilla flavor and something else, which I cannot describe. It taste a lot like those root beer flavored candy. Oh my goodness, this place have tables where you can draw pictures on! VERY AWESOME!!!! Well, not all tables are drawable- look for the black tables!) [-] I dislike the fact that they do not take reservations. Sometimes, the wait for this place can take over 1 hour or so. Definitely not a place to go with a large group. [?] I would like to come back here in the near future to try out their dinner menu. Oh yum! This place not only has great beer, but the food is good too! Every time I've gone to Block 15, I've been impressed. The wait is usually pretty long, but it's totally worth it. Great, laid-back place for lunch! Came here with the rents and the fiance. We grabbed a booth inside versus eating outside on what looked like a lovely patio. We quickly made up our minds about what to eat so that we could get straight to drawing on the chalkboard table. The fiance ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of crispy sweet potato fries. I ordered a caesar salad and a chicken nachos appetizer. The rents split a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and each had a cup of salmon chowder. The nachos were a hit and I had ordered them with guacamole but they didn't have any so they added avocado cubes which worked perfectly delicious. My salad was fair. It was tossed with not a lot of dressing so I couldn't really make out any anchovy flavor. I would probably ask for a side of dressing next time if this light tossing was the standard. I tried their Ridgeback ale which was a red with a nice bite to it. Our server was great, efficient, and friendly. I would definitely come back here if I ever ended up in Corvallis again. There's upstairs seating as well as a bar to mosey up to. I'd also get in on ordering a flight and trying more of the beers. read more

Excellent food and service. This morning we arrived around 1 and got on a waited a short time for a 4-top. High energy and high decibel levels. Thankfully got a table in the back and after tasting a few samples f beers settle on a pale ale. We had a delicious lunch which was a BBQ chicken salad and a 1/2 of a tuna melt. Really pretty good. There are two block 15s, one being only a tap room south of town and this one which includes a full service restaurant. Excellent service to boot! read more

I was recommended the vegetarian enchiladas by the bar tender. It does not disappoint and definitely makes up for their nasty nachos. The beer is all hoppy so I don't drink it but is very popular in Corvallis. read more

This spot was the highest rated in the city of Corvallis aka Beaver country! Service was exceptional and very knowledgable about all the options on their menu. The dining booth we were seated at had a chalkboard top which was perfect to entertain my 4 year old daughter. Restrooms were in immaculate condition! Okay on to the food: I ordered a burger with the peanut butter and jelly topping. I was hesitant about how it would taste with the candied bacon, marionberry jam, and peanut butter but after one bite I was hooked. Quite possibly the best burger I've had so far in the Pacific Northwest and I've been to many places including Miners in Yakima WA, Katsu Burger in Seattle, Red Mill in Seattle. This spot is head and shoulder above their gourmet competitors!!! Their Sticky Fingers IPA was the best and most well balanced IPA's I've ever had and would highly recommend it to you beer snobs.
