We stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my son's graduation from OSU. His friends joined us (so we had 8 people in our party) and we showed up around 2:30. My concern was we would not be able to get seats for all of us. Not the case. There was plenty of room for us on the patio. We ordered at the bar. The server was very helpful, offering suggestions and beer samples. We all placed our order and had a seat. In a very short amount of time, our food arrived. I was surprised how quickly. I had a pulled pork sandwich. My Gluten Free wife had a burger (as did my son). I had housemade chips. They had fries. Every thing tasted great and the serving sizes were good. We were staying the night down the street at another brewery and I'm glad we took a walk otherwise we would not have found this place. I never thought that there would be two breweries so close to each other in a small town. I'm glad we found this place, with seating both inside and outside in the atrium (the atrium was closed for a private event when we visited) it's quite a good size. We ordered some beers from the counter.. a flight as we wanted to try a few. The bartender was very nice and efficient and the beers were good. I cannot explain how amazing this place is. Firstly its beautiful in its rustic way. The atmosphere is spot on. A wide range of in house brewed beverages. The star of the show was the burger. Simple right? Wrong. Soft toasted brioche bun, herbed mayo, fresh hand picked veggies, thick real bacon and hand formed patty. Accompanied by fries for a small upcharge this thing knocked me out. Came here for dinner with the family. Sat outside in the awesome patio area. The kids eat corn dogs the wife had burger and I had fish and chips. The fish and chips could have been a little better, small portion and not enough fries to fill a fat man. The wife said the burger was good. And the kids powered down all the mini corn dogs and chips. The lady at the bar was nice. I had a black berry wheat which was really good. And my wife had a Ipa which said was really good as well. The place was clean and staff was keeping covid at bay with masks and wiping everything down. Will have to try and hit this place more often. This has become my go-to hangout in Albany. They have a great beer selection, food and their patio is gorgeous. I love that you get to sit around the barrels. The tables outside have large heaters if needed and a fresh crate of blankets is available for cold nights. There are vegetarian options too, which I'm always glad to see. They do close down the patio for Rotary Club meetings on occasion I've noticed. This has happened twice when I was hoping to sit outside. Keep that in mind in your trip planning, sometimes the patio (if you brought your dogs) isn't an option. There are other pup perks too though, there are dog beds made from crates on the patio, so your dog doesn't even have to sit in the cold floor!! read more

10 June 2025 Shrimp Taco Special I had the Shrimp Taco Special, and for the most part, it was delightful. Packed with shrimp and full of flavor. Luckily, the tacos came with 2 corn tortillas each, for they were so packed, it was it became expedient to shovel half of each into their second shells, else wise they were prone to spilling half onto the plate. The two tacos came with a side of chips and salsa, and on the downside, I must say, the salsa portion was rather stingy. The special also included a pint, and due to the fact that I had a long drive ahead of me, I chose to sample their homemade root beer. Compared to bottled root beer, theirs was a little on the flat side, but I didn't find that to be necessarily a bad thing, for it was full of flavor and oh, so refreshing. My wife chose to have the Loaded Fresh Salad. This consisted of a mix of greens, mushrooms, cucumber, tomato, roasted red peppers, along with sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, golden raisins, dried cranberries, and blue cheese crumbles. On top of the roasted peppers, the seeds, raisins, cranberries, and blue cheese, gave it a very pleasant texture, and the flavor was quite sublime. The one downside to the dining experience was the ambiance. The look and feel of the place is like a pub, but the level of noise was over the top. One practically had to yell across the table to be heard by one's dinner companion. I give the food 3.25 stars. The total dining experience however only gets 2.25 stars. read more

Small little place off the beaten path. Stopped for lunch on our way through town. The beer and cider were very good! I had the chicken sandwich. The chicken tasted fresh and was cooked well. The house made potato chips were great! Crisp, dry not greasy and full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich was loaded with thick sliced corned beef along with house made sauerkraut and rye bread. A friend and I were at an event and didn't want to eat any more of the food there, so we looked at our other options and I saw this listing. I've heard good things about it, and the fish and chips sounded really good to both of us, so off we went. We enjoyed the fish and chips very much--the fish was nice and crispy on the outside and moist and flaky in the inside without being greasy. Fries were the softer, homemade kind with the skin on, that aren't super crispy but they had a good flavor. The portions weren't huge, but my friend and I both left full. She had some kind of cranberry hard cider and it was pretty good. I had a nice glass of ice tea. The restaurant itself was smallish with hardwood floors and an area with a dart board. It was fairly full, even for mid afternoon. I could see how it might get pretty noisy at night if it got crowded, but they seemed to have a nice covered patio off to the side that would probably be wonderful in warmer weather. It has a great local bar vibe and also serves for large groups and parties (we have had class reunions there). I love the casual and friendly nature of the place. At this brewery I tried their flagship pilsner which was fantastic. The beer that really won me over here however was their chili beer. It was very tasty and had a nice kick to it. We drove up to the place and weren't sure about it. We walked up to the door, right before opening and they already had customers waiting, good sign for us! We came in and were greeted by Heather, she was very welcoming! The food was very good, yes try the in house chips! Beer and ciders were not only good but a great price! We are 2 days new to Albany, so we are excited to try all the new restaurants close to us. I was really wanting to try Class Five Burger but they were out of jalapeño's. So I decided to have the BLT instead. It was really good. My Hubby had the Pub burger and he really liked it. My Mom had the Chicken Burger and had chili on the side. She let me try it and it was really good. My daughters shared the Poopia pups and they really liked the mini corn dogs. The service was great, fast, and friendly. The orange cider was really good and my Hubby really liked the beer. We will definitely be back. Maybe we caught this place on a bad night. It was a Monday, not super busy. Completely unimpressed by many things. First complaint is about the staff. Snarky comments from the first greeting to almost everyone who walked in about closing the door behind them. Most doors have an auto closure so people aren't used to having to check. Instead of sarcastic remarks about letting all the air conditioning out, a simple, "Would you mind shutting the door please?" Would have been so much more professional. Second strike came when we ordered a drink from the menu and were told that the person behind the bar didn't know how to make that drink. The drink was on the menu! I could have looked at the menu and known exactly what was in it. Why have a drink on the menu if the staff either can't make it or can't read their own menu? Third strike is that the chili that is supposedly award winning was completely underwhelming. We've had better chili from a can. Honestly, We both wouldn't be surprised to find out this is canned chili, doctored to look like it isn't. Get in there Gordon Ramsey and Hell's Kitchen staff and solve that mystery! We didn't even eat it. Last couple of complaints was that we asked for a straw for our cocktail and were told that they would bring one but when that didn't happen, we went to our car to get one. We also didn't get silverware with our food and there was a delay in bringing utensils and napkins. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was that the fish and chips weren't bad.
