I enjoy Block 15 beers so a visit to Corvallis demanded I stop in here. Good choice. - Good beer and they have a lot of variety. - Nice 'sittable' bar, with many other seating options including some upstairs. If you're mobility-challenged, you'll find a seat here if it's not crowded. - Service was fine. Maybe a touch distracted but only a touch. - Fish n chips (OK, beer-battered fish with fries) are very good. Fish is good, fries are good, coleslaw is good. - No loud, obnoxious music. Maybe the only thing I didn't care for - and it's totally a personal preference - is that the ambiance/decor/theme of the bar is too modern. I prefer an old-school pub atmosphere. This place is a must-stop on my occasional visits to Corvallis. First, it has some of the finest brews I have had. Nebula Stout is a favorite with Super Nebula being an occasional treat. Food items stand out as tasty and well-prepared with locally-sourced ingredients. The staff are friendly and customer-centered. So glad I stumbled across this spot and was able to try it before they closed for the night. Our server was so sweet and funny! I got the Earth Burger with beer battered fries. I absolutely loved their veggie patty because it stayed in tact (most tend to fall apart and becomes very messy). So flavorful and filling. 11/10 would recommend it to everyone! Good food, lots of options, friendly service, good beer and definitely worth a try if traveling with kids - kids drink free, tables have a chalk board surface and a bucket of chalk is provided, and kid's menu is really reasonable and comes with a side. Its in the old Headline Cafe space for those of a certain age... I was disappointed with the sweet potato fries though, very average, but the dipping sauce that came with it was pretty good. Block 15 NO longer honors HAPPY HOUR. Now they implement a customer loyalty program. I love their beer. But not for $7.25 per pint. The food has been subpar ever since the Covid experiment. Corvallis seems to applaud mediocrity. Disappointing is the best summary for this and most other Corvallis eateries. read more

My daughter and I were hungry, but this hit the spot! The fish n chips were excellent and the Kimchi bowl was very flavorful. I don't usually comment on the wait staff, but Maggie took great care of us and made sure we were at ease and got everything we needed. The place had good energy without being overbearing. The wings were pretty good. I did appreciate they put the sauce on the side so they wouldn't be soggy and I could control how much sauce to add. I wasn't a huge fan of the Korean BBQ sauce. Mushrooms were tiny but also pretty good they gave me so many so I did eat them the next day as a snack. Couldn't taste the sausage most mushroom and bread crumbs. Flavor were good though so no complaints. Caesar salad was normal. Price was decent for all three $24 total and food was ready within 30 mins. Good for a late night snack and bar food. I went here for lunch on May 21, 2025, the day after George Wendt, who played Norm in the sitcom Cheers, died. I wore a yellow Cheers cap that I bought in Boston years ago. I had a May special which was a Smoked Salmon Spread. The spread had capers on it and came with fresh vegetables, lemon-black pepper marmalade and artisan bread. I would have given it 5 stars except that when I asked for Root Beer I was given Ridgeback Red?! That was quickly rectified. The meal and service were very good. read more

Coming here was one of the reasons we decided to make Corvallis the last stop of our road trip. The beer is my bf's favorite. And it did not disappoint. We sat at the bar. The bartender who helped us (petite blond) was pretty amazing in all aspects. Things went sideways for me though, and I can't stress how little of a sports fan I am. Two of our state universities were playing at the exact same time. The awesome bartender had no problem having both games on, even checking to see if other patrons had an issue. For about 10 minutes I nervously checked to make sure nobody was stressed about having the Oregon v Ohio game on also. Nobody was noticeably watching either tv, except another bartender. Before long, he insisted both TVs have the same game because we were in Corvallis. I wish we could say we got to watch the biggest game in college football so far this year at Block 15. I'm not a sports fan, but I know the entire country was watching that game. I heard it was incredibly exciting. I've been in the service industry for a long time. That was an incredibly disappointing experience due to one of your bartenders and a silly reason to lose future customers. read more

Serves talking back to you and interrupting and almost yelling back all mad. Manager was on break and never came to address concerns. I understand they were busy but they were not prioritizing serving food. I felt disrespected by the staff and customer service and 0 communication. I they need training on customer service or call the manager when he is on is break and work faster on plan ahead. We ate here for the first time this evening after realizing the neighboring restaurant, The Caves was closed. This place did not disappoint! We were met at the door with smiles and seated quickly. Our waitress, Tilly quickly informed us that their fryer was down so menu options were limited. We ordered two cocktails that were delicious!! We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms and bier pretzel with stone ground mustard and beer cheese dip. Then my friend ordered the Maple Bacon Bourbon burger after a recommendation from Tilly. The stuffed mushrooms were so flavorful and the perfect bite. The bier pretzel was so fresh, salted to perfection and the beer cheese and stone ground mustard absolutely complemented it. My friend said the burger was very flavorful and a generous portion. Her burger also came with a side of beer battered fries that she ate up so fast. We liked the vibe inside and it also appears to be kid friendly. The chalk table tops and provided chalk were kinda fun while waiting for our food and drinks...although everything came out really fast. Overall, we're happy that we stumbled into Block 15 and will definitely be back. Shorthand for describing Block 15: Good food, good beer, great service, reasonable prices. We came by after seeing a concert over at the University. When we arrived they were busy and said it would take 20 minutes to get a table. No problem, we thought, we'll go to the bar and grab a beer while we wait. We'd barely sat down at the bar, and our table was ready. Our waitress, Katie, was excellent. I got the chicken sandwich and fries, my friend got the green chili burger (with a gluten free bun!). The sandwich and burger were quite tasty (we ate every last crumb), and the beer-battered fries were excellent. Be sure to ask for their fry sauce; it looks like your regular fry sauce, but it's got some very pleasant kick to it. Beers: my friend got the POW IPA, and I got the People Doing Things (the former a little on the hazy side, the latter more traditional West Coast IPA). I wanted to get the Block 15 IPA (the "Alpha"), but they ran out earlier in the day. Bummer. Note: some of the tables in the back room are "chalkboard" tables, where you can scribble, draw and write. We played hangman for a couple of hours, which was fun (and even more fun after a couple of beers!). Great place. read more

I came in here a couple nights ago with my husband. We were visiting Corvallis for the day, and no trip to Corvallis is complete without a visit to Block 15. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, and that was totally fine. There is usually a wait here, but they text you with updates. They are still busy, even with the Coronavirus, so expect to wait when you go. Sean was our bartender/waiter and he did a great job. We both ordered the farmhouse burger, medium rare, and with fries. We had chicken tenders as an appetizer, and a brownie with ice cream for dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection. Burgers nice and juicy, pink in the middle. The fried egg oozed out when it was cut open, creating the perfect saucy condiment on it. Chicken tenders were crispy on the outside and tender inside. Fries were heaven. I'm not the biggest French fry fan out there, but these were fabulous. Perfectly crispy. My one and only complaint, which is still fairly superficial, is they didn't have the beer I wanted. I'm a huge fan of their Board Shorts beer that was originally created for their bartender, Seth. My husband and I always have a glass to honor Seth and his memory when we go. So I wasn't terribly thrilled that it was gone. I'm hoping they bring it back in the future. Obviously with the Coronavirus, there are measures in place to help keep everyone safe. Wait staff keeps their distance, they don't clear tables as they go, and they wear masks. Which is all fine. What I love though is despite these measures, there's no sacrifice in quality of the service or the food. None. They are still operating quite successfully, and clearly thriving. That makes me very happy to see. Some restaurants seem to have given up due to the circumstances, but that isn't the case here. This is a restaurant I've been coming to for several years every time I am in Corvallis, and I plan to continue that tradition. Because this is a wonderful local business to love. If you want an amazing burger and beer, you can't go wrong with Block 15. read more

Just ok. We were hoping for more after seeing the 4.5 star review. Maybe they're having an off day? Came in on a Sunday around 12:30 and got seated right away. We were seated away from everyone else; a table right next to the door and host station. I find it nice to be seated around others to enjoy the chatter and scenery so this was a disappointment. We ordered an Arnold Palmer (iced tea/lemonade) and house made root beer. The Arnold Palmer tea was good, not too sweet. The root beer was ok; I'm not used to non commercial soda so I'm not sure if it was great or not. Compared to other house made root beer I've had it was good. Def not an A & W though. For lunch we got the Pub Nachos and fried Chicken burger. Liz enjoyed the fried chicken sando, even with its spicy Mayo and cabbage. The chicken was tender and juicy and the sandwich had a lot of pickles. The beer battered fries were pretty good too. As for the nachos, I wanted to like the shredded cabbage piled on top but it just didn't add to the dish. The beans, cheese, jalapeños, and salsa were mostly piled on top which left me at least 1/2 a platter of chips with no toppings. Frankly, there wasn't much cheddar cheese for the giant plate of chips. The service was good, she came by and checked on us a few times and closed out our check quickly. I'll give them another try when I'm town and see if something else in the menu suits me. And maybe they'll seat me in the main dining area. read more
