Okay, tacos were absolutely FIRE. There's a reason why there's a line! The tacos were tasty and fresh. You absolutely have to get the limeade. I got two of them! However, the Taos small and expensive. 5.75 for one small fish taco. It can absolutely get pricey and adds up quick. Casual quick place to get a bite with kind service. I will be back.

Ordered the Brussel Sprouts, Carne Asada, and Carnitas tacos, and none of them disappointed! My favorite was probably the Carnitas with their hint of cinnamon (don't knock til you try it!), but honestly they're all good! Chips and queso were on point too! Found this spot on Yelp (thanks for the assist!) LOVE YELP!

One of the best taco spots I've ever had in NC! Always hesistant about tacos after growing up in Texas, but this place passed the test for sure! Super fast service, super passionate about what they do, and it reflects in the flavor! The vibes were also exactly what you wanted it to be for a taco spot.

Ordering process Awful Mid service break awful Micro greens is not a replacement for cilantro Your fish taco was a tadpole or a very tiny fish. Only one piece of mushroom for my taco. There was a lot of people waiting a very long time to order and get their food. The business was not prepared for the crowd. We went back to order something else and they were closed, they took a mid break. A lot of lost business due to them closing early for a break, they hadn't been open too long and the people kept coming with such disappointment of them being closed. This could have been an awesome place to eat this day but when you open and run out of food it makes no sense. This business is established and should always be prepared especially when people are looking forward to the special food (Vegan) you make and people love eating, there is not too many places that we can go for this special treat. My nachos were awesome, I truly would order them again. Hope the next time I come back we have a better experience.

My wife and I love this place! It's literally an order window connected to Satellite Bar and Lounge in Wilmington. The ingredients are super fresh, extremely tasty, and the nachos, especially with chicken, are outstanding. The atmosphere, service, and location make this place. Awesome. My favorite part is there is a toppings bar right next to the order window so that you can add, some accoutrements or hot sauce to your order. Again, I love this place.

You need tacos after a few beers, right? We were psyched that right around the corner from New Anthem Beer Project was this little taco window attached to another bar. It had a really cute look with lots of pretty plants and bright colors. There's some outdoor seating but you can also order to-go or eat in the bar. The small menu consisted of gourmet tacos around $4 each and a few other items. We tried 3 tacos: The Carnitas taco (Braised Pork Shoulder rubbed in coffee, cinnamon and brown sugar, topped with fresh pico de gallo). The Fish taco (Local caught Fresh Fillets fried in a light and crispy Tempura Batter. Topped with slaw, pico de gallo and smoked poblano crema). The Asada taco (Charbroiled Skirt Steak, seasoned with chile butter, served traditionally with fresh cilantro and white onion). My husband and I both got a fish taco, and agreed it was the best. There is nothing better than seafood from a beach town, so fresh tasting and just a light batter for some crunch. The crema was also delicious. The carnitas was a bit sweet for me and felt it needed a sauce. The steak in the asada was on point, cooked tender and well-seasoned, just felt the taco needed more than just white onion. I would also say the tacos are on the small side for their price. We also got some of their Chips and Guacamole. The corn tortilla chips were perfectly fried and the guacamole was very creamy. I liked the texture of their chips a lot as they were a little heavier than standard Mexican restaurant fare. A great unexpected find for taco lovers!

The tacos are available at a window on the sidewalk. Walking inside the building leads to a bar, which is separate, but they appear to have effectively shared their space with the taco joint. There were also some chairs on the sidewalk. They had a respectable vegetarian (nay, vegan) selection. The brussels sprout taco of such repute wasn't transcendent, but it did have nicely sauteed sprouts and an abundant variety of flavors. The fried buts of mushroom in the other were indulgent. Both tacos had ample garnishes and double layered tortillas; however the hot sauce I asked for I didn't seem to get. They had a green bean one as well that I kind of wish I'd tried. I also got a horchata, which was extremely sweet and full flavored, with visible ground spices gathering at the bottom, waiting to be mixed back in. The food was fresh, and it was good.

We stopped here because it was nearby and open late when we left a concert at Greenfield. When we walked up to the order window the guy said they were out of a lot of things. I think he said Asada, carnitas, Brussels and fish, so we both ordered chicken nachos. We were both disappointed. Our nachos were mostly chips, many which were stuck together, and just a few chunks of chicken. Earlier in the day we had wandered down Front St and seen people eating lunch, a few with nachos at various restaurants, and they all looked better and bigger than the ones we had at Block. Not much quality or quantity for the price.

Back for more, and once again Block Taco did not disappoint. I was initially bummed to hear that they were out of the mushroom taco, but I subbed in the green bean one. It's delicious, but be prepared for some heat! The fish taco is consistently delicious, and I love the chips and guac. Everything pairs nicely with a beer next door! read more

Ordered 4 tacos for 5.50 each with is kinda of over priced since not even the tacos in Raleigh are this much( i'm originally from raleigh). The asada meat was very PLAIN, HARD and BRUNT. I was expecting something good because of all the reviews. Honestly not really what i expected, not very mindful and not very demure of Block Taco. read more

Great little taco place in Southern area of downtown Wilminhton that is growing fast with new restaurants! I'm always on the hunt for a good street style fish taco, and they are killing it! Love, love, LOVE this place! I normally come here when I want something light to eat. They have so many different tacos which cater to all people, including vegetarians. I opted for the fish taco and bbq chicken taco. The tacos are on corn tortilla with all the fixings. They also have a side bar including additional toppings as well. It's hard for me to choose my favorite taco because they were both so good and flavorful. All tacos are made fresh to order and use fresh ingredients as well. I also tried their limeade which was sooo good! It's freshly made and very refreshing. If you decide to eat there, benches and bar stools are available outside too. Looking forward to trying some of the other tacos soon!! read more

I've been on the search for the best tacos in the Wilmington area and these are currently it! They are very California style. Fancy and delicious but slightly expensive, about $4 per taco. Tried the brussel sprouts, carnitas, and fish. Follow the reviews and get the Brussels sprouts! It was so different and amazing. Carnitas we're my favorite and felt pretty authentic. I think this little taco stand is so much fun and delicious! I tried a bite of the chicken taco and it was one of the best tacos I have ever had. They are so cheap and delicious! I would have given 5 stars but the whole concession stand outside where the condiments were was empty and dirty. I didn't get to add any fresh cilantro, etc. Really cool place! read more

I had never heard of this place till I went to the South Front farmers market. The menu offers one vegan item and it is fabulous! Roasted brussel sprouts lots of flavor with a great sauce. They offer different toppings as well. I ordered chips pico and guacamole also excellent! It is a treat when I get the chance to go downtown. read more

Saw this on Yelp and decided to give it a try on my way into the hospital to wait for Kathy to get released (she works in PACU). One of our Airbnb stays was in the condo/apartments just steps away; none of this was there (several bars and restaurants in addition to BlOckTaco). The whole area is well put together with a variety of drinking and eating establishments; plenty of off street parking make it convenient as well. Now, the tacos! Just wowzer and whee-haw! I had the fish and carnita tacos and they were wonderful. Very flavorful and just the right amount to satisfy my stomach and palate. Fresh ingredients combined with very friendly folks taking the orders make this a must stop for me anytime I want a taco or similar meal. Highly recommend it and though I had the lime drink (WOW!), lots of available options for beverages whatever your taste. read more

I love that this place is attached to Satellite bar. It's so convenient to walk up to the window to place your order. My tacos were ready quickly. I got steak, mahi and chicken. I wanted carnitas but they were sold out. The steak was painfully dry with some gristle BUT they had plenty of sauces and toppings to balance that out. The chicken was so good. The mahi was fried and so incredibly fishy I didn't finish it..... mahi shouldn't be fishy. My wife got the loaded nachos with chicken which were so good that I helped myself to her meal lol. Overall, we loved the vibe and the food. We will definitely be back! read more

BLOcKTACO nailed it for us on the taco front. Small corn tortillas with a filling choice for every palette. We have had the shrimp, fish, brussels, mushroom, and chicken. Overall, our fav is the fish taco we had - hands down. Love this spot and taking the food Nextdoor to accompany your beer at Satellite is pretty much perfect. Very laid back and low key. I went into a food coma after eating the best nachos that I've ever had, but it was worth it. This place is connected to Satellite bar, and is just a walk up window with a relatively small menu. Several kinds of tacos, nachos (with or without meat), guac or salsa and chips, and the holy grail- Brussel sprout nachos. I know it sounds like something your mom would make to get you to eat vegetables, but trust me- they're amazing. Fresh fried tortilla chips, a big glob of guac, poblano crema, cheese, and pico. They have a little self-serve condiment bar with fresh jalapeños, a delicious hot sauce, poblano crema, fresh limes, and cilantro. Block Taco is a casual place conveniently attached to a bar, but I would drive out of my way to come here, even if I wasn't going to the bar. It's a shame that I live in St. Louis (for many reasons.) read more

BlockTaco makes me want to live every day like it's Taco Tuesday. I really liked the fact that this taco bar is a walk up window, and all the topping add-ons are still something you can do yourself to really customize it. Take advantage of these toppings - they are fire! *I would opt for a 5 star EXCEPT every time I asked for a taco, Bussel Sporut, and Shrimp they were out of stock because their vendor didn't bring them that day. I opted for two fish tacos and I am so happy I went this route. These piei8ces of fish were huge and really filled me up. My siter opted for chicken nachos. They toritalls they use must be homemade because those were the best chips I've ever had. read more

Ordered chicken nachos and 2 tacos....2 cans of soda....36.00...rediculous!!!! Would be different if they were good but the tacos were so dry I only ate one, the nachos looked like they came out of a chip bag. We ordered while nobody was there, a couple walked up 5 minutes after us and received their food way before us. Definitely not going back. 2 picnic tables to sit at outside in the cold. No thanks. read more

omg i do love block taco i live right across the street from it. whether you want one taco for $4 or 3 tacos for $12, they all taste delicious & have excellent vegan options? service was great and fast it's a walk up and order but there are chairs outside to sit kinda like barstools which is soooo nice on a beautiful day! read more

Favorite taco place. Love everything on the menu. Only down side is long lines during heavy traffic times but worth the wait - and you can wait at satellite bar which is a sweet spot too. Usually super friendly workers too. read more

Such a cool concept!! A whole block dedicated to tacos with a bar too. I suggest sticking to the tacos and not the nachos. The mushroom taco was a crowd fave. Order tacos from a walk up window and then find a seat they call your name when it's ready. read more

The food is great but the person who took our order was very rude. It was loud both outside and inside their kitchen so it was hard to hear each other. Instead of just repeating the question when we couldn't hear, he made rude comments and passive aggressive remarks and when we could actually hear what he said, he would make comments that seemed like we were beneath him and ruining his night for not being able to hear the questions. I would recommend this place for the food but if you don't like rude customer service, id go somewhere else. read more

BLOcKTACO is the perfect spot for a late night bite to eat this time of year!! To start, the location is perfect for those who enjoy going out without the craziness of downtown. Being placed right in between Second Glass Wine Bar and Satellite Bar and Lounge makes it the perfect quick food before and after a drink. We had the chicken nachos and they were amazing! Just the right amount of each topping and pretty easy to eat! The quick walk-up window to order keeps things organized and moving while the staff is super cool!! They have some cute outdoor bar seats but the point is to eat at the lounge next door, which is nice! I'll definitely be back many times! read more

We came to get a drink at Satellite bar and decided to grab some tacos also. Some people next to us said the tacos were good but that we should order a few as they were rather small. We ordered 2 tacos and 1 vegetable nacho... when the guy told me $18 I was like "what?!" Why is that these hipster places think they can charge an arm and a leg for something just bc they think they have something unusual.. guess what: tacos have been around for longer than you and I exist and no matter what you put in your taco, someone has already done it too, and in all honesty, probably better than this taco joint. It's not new. Quit charging almost $5 for one small taco. Yes they were good but this isn't Miami. This is Wilmington....and a bad area of town w/ the projects literally across the street. read more

Atmosphere is great! Love the vibes along with the customer service, being able to make customers feel welcome is what I loved about my experience here. Unfortunately the tacos are just ok the presentation was great. My wife and I ordered two carnitas tacos, one brussel sprouts taco and a chicken taco. The carnitas were solid I felt like it could've used a little more flavor. My wife loved the brussel sprout taco. The chicken taco had good flavor but I believe the pickled slaw took it to that next level of flavor. Would definitely say stop by as it was a great experience. read more

We only spoke to an employee for a minute and the customer service was poor enough to make us walk away altogether and figure out something else for dinner. The food looked great and the place itself seemed popular but the customer service ruined our experience before we could even order. I would not recommend on a busy night, because rushes seem to put the employees into bad moods that they'll take out on others. read more

Not your typical, Olive Garden-style Italian fare. The menu is relatively small, with a good variety of salads, starters, and main courses. Quanto Basta is quickly becoming one of our favorites. I said a well kept secret because we have need seen it crowded. The atmosphere is about as good as it gets. There is authentic music playing lightly in the background. Noticeable but not intrusive. Just right for quiet conversation with your group or a friendly couple at the next table. Our server was Jason and he was excellent. He presented the evening's specials politely and answered out questions knowledgeably. We started with a cocktail. Carolyn had an Aperol Spritzer and I ordered the Jack Daniel's Italian Sour. One of the best sours I have ever had. Jack and Amaretto with a fresh made sour mix. Not too sweet, and was bourbon forward. We ordered Fettuccine John Angelo - fresh made pasta with an Alfredo style sauce, and Pancetta. Served with wedges of homemade rosemary focaccia baked fresh daily. We asked that it be split so we could both have some. We also ordered the Veal Scaloppine Alla Saltimbocca. A tender slice of veal with sage, prosciutto and melted mozzarella with white wine butter sauce. The kitchen wouldn't split that dish, but Jason brought us an extra plate and a sharp knife. Both dishes were delicious. Both were an ample serving that made it easy to share. It was just the right amount. The white wine butter sauce was spectacular (and the bread was perfect for sopping it up). Note: sopping is a southern thing, and perfectly permissible here. Seldom do we order dessert, but tonight we couldn't resist the Affogato Brownie, an Espresso - soaked, double dark chocolate brownie topped with vanilla gelato and amarena cherries. It was so good. They have an extensive wine list and some craft beers as well. Here's the best part - the prices were quite reasonable. Two cocktails ($13 each), two entrees, and dessert for $100 including a 20% tip! As I said, Quanto Basta is quickly becoming a favorite. We will be back and hope we will see you there!

I feel like I'm kinda a taco snob, and I LOVED these tacos! I got a chicken, carnitas, and asada taco.. all were delicious! I normally don't love chicken tacos, but this was one of the best ones I've ever had! My friend got the carnitas nachos were were also amazing.
