I have had multiple appointments with both Maritza and Ale (it's just the two of them in the salon) and you can't go wrong with either, they're just incredible. Maritza has decades of experience doing hair - from NY to LA, high profile clients etc. yet she is so down to earth and makes each client feel just as important regardless of who you are. She is so knowledgable and cares deeply about what is best for you and your hair, even over money (i.e. she will tell you if your hair can't tolerate more extensions and will advise against it even if she'd make more money by putting more hair in). Recently I have begun booking with Ale (initially due to scheduling) and really appreciate how both Martiza and Ale appear like a team when it comes to clients. When I book with Ale, M will still offer insights or help out when needed. I want to give a MAJOR shout out to Ale, although she is somewhat "newer" hair stylist you would never know and she is so good at what she does you'd think she too has been working for decades. I have never had a bad experience with her and fully trust her with my hair (which is saying a lot as I've had some seriously horrific hair salon experiences). Ale has such a grounded, calm, empathic, kind demeanor. She is attentive, listens to what you want, and is incredibly professional. I've never had an experience with her where I wasn't entirely happy and satisfied with the result (same with M too). I cannot recommend this place more. They have offered me constant support, knowledge, help, and compassion through my own hair loss struggles and genuinely genuinely care. There is no other salon I would recommend like this one. I know the salon specializes in color and they do amazing work by the way! However, I don't use color but I do have a ton of curly hair. So much so that I've only had two people in 40 years do a exemplary job on my hair. I stuck with one for 10 years, and then moved then had another for 15 years and she retired. Finding someone to replace her it was very challenging. Got a ton of OK cuts.... but couldn't find anyone that truly understood the nature of wave and curl. She knows what she is doing while keeping up with the laates trend or methods of applying extensions. I much appreciate Maritza's honesty as if she doesn't think one's hair shouldn't be further treated with color, she will tell the truth but not to just get the business. Maritza is my hair savior! A few years ago I started noticing that my already thin, fine hair had gotten wayyyy thinner over time. I've always been blonde but of course as I've gotten older my hair has gotten darker, so I've highlighted it for a long time. I'm very careful about who touches my hair because of how thin and fine it is. Most stylists have told me over the years that I'm not a candidate for any type of extensions, which was always really disappointing. When I found Blond Bungalow a couple years ago and had my first consultation and then color appointment with Maritza, she explained how she does VERY fine, small bonds and that my hair could totally handle it, and I'm so glad I tried it out, because extensions have literally changed my life, haha! I know it sounds dramatic but it's true. Maritza has always been so transparent about what she thinks my hair can or can not handle, and also transparent about the costs of the service and upkeep. I trust her implicitly. I'm also really loving the recent switch we made from bonds to weft, more hair! :D Plus, I know that if I ever have any issues with my extensions (like when I accidentally got sunscreen in them... IYKYK!) that she will make time for me to come in so she can see me in person and we can fix it together! After watching Mare of Easttown I decided it was time to be less casual about how my roots were growing out (if you know you know). Maritza did a great job of listening to what I wanted (a way to integrate warm box-colored hair with increasingly grey roots with as few visits as possible to maintain it). After my colorist of 11 years moved out of state, I searched for someone who could deal with my grey-dirty blonde perimenopausal mess. The name alone - Blond Bungalow - piqued my interest, and I visited Maritza for the first time in December. Boy, am I glad I found her! My chief complaint was that my color had been too blond for too long - it lightens on its own quite a bit, but also ended up feeling brassy around the time I would need my color done - and she gave me back some depth I'd been missing, plus a lovely color that looks much more natural, even when it's grown out.
