Bloom is still relatively new and is a great addition to the Capital District dining scene. I went there last night and had an outstanding experience. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was delicious and a perfect amount tl share for two. My companion had the tuna entree and I had the salmon entree, both delicious. The service was excellent and the ambiance was perfect, volume level in the restaurant felt just right so it was a lively atmosphere but easy to have a conversation (no TVs and no loud music). read more

The dining room was beautiful with a wall full of flowers and fun lighting. The bathroom was nice with a fun surprise if you push the big red button!! The food was alright. The service was quick and fun! Loved our server and she was really knowledgeable on the menu! We came for dinner. Drinks were strong but yummy! We ordered the southern chicken, chicken shawarma skewers, Kentucky mule, chocolate tahine, and the banana split. The southern popcorn chicken was served in a large bowl with fried pickles and homemade sauces. It was as you would expect but it was A LOT of chicken haha! The skewers were really very good. The chocolate tahine was incredibly rich and filling, very easy to split with I'd even say up to 4 people! Banana split was yummy churros were a bit too hard for my taste but it was good! I wish the drinks weren't so strong I struggled to finish mine and my husband couldn't finish his because he was driving! Tonight a friend and I checked out this new spot, Bloom Boutique Bar & Eatery -- and the name definitely did not lie There were flowers throughout the entire restaurant, creating such a calm, happy, serene atmosphere. It was a whole vibe. Our waitress was amazing! She explained the specials of the night with so much enthusiasm that we had to try them. I can't remember the exact name, but we ordered the steak poutine, bang bang shrimp, and Peruvian chicken. Now, I don't even eat seafood... but somehow we ate errrythang And that says a lot! Minus me tasting the   Everything was good, though I will say the chicken could've used a little more seasoning or sauce. Still tasty! For dessert, we had the churros (minus the ice cream) -- and they were DELISH. The place is gorgeous, well done for those influencer pictures of beautiful backdrops. A gorgeous flower wall and a party room with a beautiful flower ceiling. The bathroom is the most fun yet, a fun spot and old school party style, not to give it away. Must check it out for yourself. The food was ok. My Korean chicken sandwich wasn't spicy and just seemed to be missing something. Personally to bland for my liking. I substituted with a side of greens (salad) lettuce and that was absolutely what I got, thats it. It usually comes with side of fries. If I go back I would try the brunch or something else to see if I feel differently. My friend was ok with her ahi tuna but she said it wasn't her favorite. The service though was good and quick. It was the first Friday after opening and place was very quiet. Prices were kinda expensive for the hospital location, I don't see many going in for lunch. read more

Had a fantastic time here on a Friday night celebrating a friend's birthday. The place was packed! We were seated in the back under an amazing flower ceiling . They also have a nice bar area, a flower wall with booths and lots of seating in the main room. The ambience is really cool and so is the bathroom - as others have mentioned, push the red button!! Our server was fantastic, attentive without being intrusive, and let us celebrate in style. We started with a yummy cider and a fantastic Kentucky mule. I also had the French toast mocktail "for the drivers" which was delicious. I appreciated that they had a robust menu of nonalcoholic, creative cocktails The drinks are definitely NYC prices. We shared the bang bang shrimp & beets with goat cheese that were beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. My friend had the Korean barbecue sandwich that had a lovely side salad with a tasty vinaigrette. We also had the ahi tuna dinner which came out like a tower. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've ever eaten, and I usually don't like mashed potatoes! The ahi tuna was overcooked and took away from the meal. We ended up sharing a huge bread pudding with candied bacon bits for dessert & cleaned the plate! What a great addition to this part of New Scotland Ave - adds a trendy vibe to the neighborhood. 10/10 Vibes are so cute for brunch with flowers everywhere They have nice drinks I got the Korean chicken sandwich and it was possibly one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had ever. Asked for an extra thing of sauce on the side and I'm glad I did. Chicken was soft and tender. Flavors worked together great. Caesar salad was okay, the fries that you can get are the type of fries on the more "string shoe" side - yum. Would recommend and will be visiting again read more

I've been watching for Bloom to open and I had to come for a girls dinner. The restaurant is gorgeous, we were seated at a cute booth underneath a flower wall. The vibe was great, our server was very kind and accommodating. We started with cocktails, the Final Say was delicious and similar to an aviation, I also enjoyed a dirty martini with blue cheese olives. A lot of the apps piqued our interest, but we decided in the crab Rangoon dip and the loaded potato funnel cake. The crab Rangoon dip was exactly as expected, very good! The wonton chips were a little greasy but still great with the dip. Unfortunately the loaded potato funnel cake was poorly executed and over cooked, so it was removed from the bill. Service was quick to resolve the issue. The truffle cheese wiz on the dish was delicious, but the potato cake was overdone. We then moved on to entrees, I chose the crab sandwich with greens after a heavy appetizer round. The sandwich was delicious, kinda like a crab salad BLT. I enjoyed the fresh taste and leftovers were just as good. The other two dishes on the table were the Katsu and Tortellini. The katsu was gorgeous and had great flavor. My friend loved the tortellini, added chicken, she said it was one of the best dishes she's had recently. It was a great course. We skipped dessert this evening, but the offerings sounded good. Overall, we had a very nice experience and I would definitely return. Also, I have to mention the party bathroom! Such a fun little quirk for this new spot. Had an incredible book club meetup with 5 of my friends! Easily found parking and was sat right away (we had a reservation in which you put $10 down per person but you get that credited back your bill after dining). Our waiter was prompt and friendly. Each of us had a specialty cocktail which were tasty and strong. We shared the ahi tuna nachos, friend chicken and crab Rangoon dip appetizers. They portions were bigger than expected and delicious. I visited Bloom for a Galentine's Day Brunch with some friends. I made reservations easily online a couple of weeks before. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the hostesses. The place is beautifully decorated in floral wallpaper and there's a ceiling covered in fake flowers in their Garden Room, where we were sat. Their brunch menu has a ton of great options, including different sweet and savory offerings. I opted for the pork belly hash, which came with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, peppers and a poached egg. My friends got the Crab Cake Benedict and Papas y Huevos. We also got the Apple Streusel French Toast to split for the table. Everything was delicious! My hash had perfectly cooked poached eggs and delicious pork belly. The French toast was so good too. The cocktail menu had really creative options. My friend loved their avocado margarita. Found this gem of a restaurant through my Fantasy Football league. We hold a banquet dinner every year and the commissioner picked this place. I liked the korean fried chicken sandwich and the dessert was a unique experience for sure- dulce de leche crème brûlée, warm rice crispy cereal bites, strawberries and pop rocks. It is beautiful where they have the flower walls. The service was OK, but I came at a weird time and they only had one person working. Based on prior reviews and an interaction I had of my own I don't think this is a kid friendly environment, not because of anything the establishment did, but because of the general vibe from other people dining. read more

The restaurant is beautiful on the inside, loved the attention to detail. The drinks took a couple minutes, but it was a Friday night so understandable. The appetizers were just OK not a ton of flavor or seasoning. You have to order multiple appetizers if you're a group because they aren't super shareable sizes. Service totally indifferent Menu is way too contrived with too many components with many elements that don't appeal to lots of people's taste. My burger came out absolutely raw. It had to go back and I sat there and waited while my wife ate her dinner. Then when the Berger finally came out, she was done with her dinner. I asked to serve her to pack it up. I tried Bloom the first time for lunch. It was pretty bad. The shrimp pomegranate salad was very bland, it needs more acid and salt in the dressing. But honestly, pretty much like anything that they could add to that salad would make it better. There was nothing going on. Toast has more flavor lol. The espresso salmon was fine though, nothing to rave about but it was better than the salad. The total for this bland ass salad and one entree, plus 2 coffees was $80!!!!!!! NOT WORTH IT. Went for Sunday brunch with my friend, had a great experience! We got the Ahi Tuna nachos to start, which were huge! But very good! All the ingredients were fresh and the wonton chips were so light and crispy. My friend got the shrimp tacos and I got the papas y huevos with a fried egg (hard) instead of the poached egg, I thought it was absolutely perfect, the cheese sauce on top with the pico made the dish amazing. What a wonderful and welcoming place in the neighborhood to have a meal with friends! We were delighted to find this place in walking distance from our home. I had the Korean chicken sandwich and it was great, no notes. My partner got the Maryland crab cake handheld and felt it would've been better on different bread, and I thought the crab could've used a hint of spice for more flavor. Still good, just a bit basic. I have been to Bloom for both lunch and dinner. Both times the food was excellent (pomegranate shrimp power bowl and shrimp & risotto). The bar area is awesome and the bartenders are professionals who are very knowledgeable. Our server was very attentive and friendly. For dinner I was there with a group of friends and the service was a little too fast--more like a casual restaurant. The server was clearing dishes the whole meal (like my mom growing up!). I know some customers want service to be fast and others want it slow. An experienced server knows their audience or just asks about the acceptable pace. I will definitely be back but will make it clear upfront that we are there to enjoy the experience--not to just eat and run. read more

My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and it was a lovely experience. The staff was very polite. I ordered the Asian style pork belly hash eggs which was delicious. The eggs were perfectly poached and there was a good amount of pork belly. My friend got the lady bleu burger and she enjoyed the fig jam on the burger! I have been twice and will return again next week for two more dinners with girlfriends. We have tried many of the drink drinks and they are all delicious. They make their own shrubs and mixers which makes for an authentic tasting cocktail without a lot of fake sweetness and syrups! And the martini glasses are huge. Also tried the beet salad with goat cheese it was so good it could be an entrée! And had the potato funnel cake last night it was cooked perfectly and the cheese truffle sauce was the icing on the cake if you will! Cannot wait to return! The staff is amazing. We have been to Bloom 4 times already and have never been disappointed. On Valentine's evening they said they had sold all of their reservations but we never felt rushed at all. There were 4 of us and we all felt that the meals were the best we have had in Albany in a very long time. It was great to see people dressed up and really appreciating the "big city" atmosphere. Our server, Jubilee, was so pleasant and accommodating too. We will keep going back! read more

I work across the street at the hospital, so we have been waiting for this to open. The place is absolutely gorgeous, and the service was very attentive. I ordered the shrimp tacos with a side of Brussel sprouts and neither disappointed. The shrimp tacos were full of flavor, and everything seemed very fresh. Coming from a family who owns a restaurant and an extensive culinary background it can be hard to please me. Bloom however was the whole package wrapped up with a nice bow.
