The free cookie bar is a trap, and I walked straight into it willingly. Samples of every cookie you could imagine, handed out on giant tongs by a staff that is incredibly patient, friendly, and clearly very experienced in watching people lose all self control. They deal in sugar and they know exactly what they are doing. One taste leads to another, and just when I thought I was out, they pulled me right back in. The key lime cookies are the real deal. Crunchy, sweet, tart, and ridiculously good. Wow. The Scottish Oatmeal is my favorite, and for good reason. It is the original recipe from over 100 years ago and still standing strong like a cookie legend. We also grabbed the cinnamon sugar cookies, which are perfect for having a few after dinner, or before dinner, or instead of dinner. No judgment. There are so many options to choose from that decision making becomes difficult very quickly. And if you somehow manage to walk out without a bag, or two, or three, do not worry. This time, me and my 16-year-old challenged ourselves by picking a treat for each other that we wouldn't ordinarily choose. I got her a cheese danish, she got me a peach fritter.
