My wife and I came for a small, late brunch on Saturday and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful in choosing our meals and giving recommendations. The interior was beautiful, and overall felt upscale, while still having that Savannah charm to it. The food itself was absolutely wonderful. We ordered some oysters, and while only having some lemon and dollop of sauce, they were so full of flavor; and this was in the off months of oyster harvests. Very, very happy with the oysters. I also ordered the Husk Burger, interesting pairing I know, but it was juicy and tender, and just a delicious meal. The burgers are actually made in house, as they butcher the cow themselves and grind up and combine the parts to make the burger. I also ordered an old fashioned, and the house version uses grapefruit peels and syrup, and goodness it was one of the best old fashions I have had in Savannah. Husk's ambiance is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to it for us. I appreciate their creative approach to Southern cuisine, but many of the flavor combinations felt overly ambitious and missed the mark. For example, after having Saint Bibiani's incredible burrata with salted peaches, Husk's pecan, cantaloupe, and goat cheese dish fell flat. Even their upscale take on hush puppies had an unusual flavor we couldn't quite place, and my daughter became ill shortly after eating them. The menu also felt limited for our tastes, with few fish options and very few dishes that appealed to us. I ended up not ordering an entrée at all, which has never happened to me, and was hungry enough to order room service back at the hotel. We do have West Coast palates, but we absolutely loved the creative Southern cuisine at Saint Bibiani, Common Thread, and even the poolside food at Hotel Bardo. We made a reservation for this restaurant a few days before we arrived in Savannah. When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy, but it wasn't overly packed. We started with two bird of paradise cocktails, the hush puppies and the beef tartare. The hush puppies were excellent. They were light, fluffy and delicious. There was a green sauce draped over them, but it didn't need it. The beef tartare was really great. My only complaint with the beef tartare was that it came with so few of those thinly sliced pieces of bread. We needed more of those based on the portion of the tartare that was delivered. Upon looking at the entrees, we weren't impressed because there were a few items that initially grabbed us about the restaurant that were no longer on the menu, so we paid for our drinks, appetizers and left for another restaurant option only a 7 minute walk away from Husk. Came to Husk for brunch on a Sunday morning. Snagged reservations for when they opened at 10am, quickly sat but came to find out there is no alcohol served until 11am so be warned. We decided to try some of their mocktails- the little bird and spark plug. Spark plug was very light and refreshing, a great mocktail. For food we tried the deviled eggs, white lily biscuits with gravy and hot fried chicken. Deviled eggs were okay, biscuits were very tasty, chicken wasn't very spicy. Had a lovely dinner at husk. While we couldn't get a reservation, we wound up going to the bar, where there was no wait. We both got cheeseburgers (no onions) and thought they were the best we've had in Savannah. Wish they had real french fries, they do wedges. We tried the pork rinds - didn't care for them and the bartender was nice enough to take them off of our bill. Also had sticky toffee pudding - it was good, but not as good/authentic as ones we've had in the Edinburgh. Wine pour was a little on the weak side. The restaurant was beautiful. We were sat by a window in a room that had a few tables and a fireplace. I wish the fire would have been on! We were unfortunately very underwhelmed with the food we were served for the price point. Our dishes were good, but no specific flavor profiles stood out to us or were special. The sauce that was with my steak didn't taste like anything. We ordered the pimento cheese platter for an appetizer and it was fine but we ran out of crackers. Lastly, I enjoyed the wait staff answering our questions to the menu but the length and depth of the responses was a bit off putting and made us hesitant to ask any further questions or ask for the dessert menu. If you sit at the bar they have a bar menu as well as the regular menu to pick from and you can mix and match, which we did with the deviled eggs from the bar menu and then our other 4 items from the regular menu. Deviled eggs come with a pickle slice on top and I was a big fan. The tuna was nice and think and the sauce was unique. I am a lover of pimento cheese in general but this one comes with chopped collard green stems on top - I typically don't like collard greens but it works on this dish. Not enough to knock it down a star but the beef tartare is covered in breading which I didnt care for as much. Bartenders give amazing service and are friendly, as is everyone I've ever encountered there. Not the cheapest option in Savannah but consistently good food and my wife and I have this in our monthly rotation. read more

Husk Savannah's Southern charm shines in its warm, inviting ambience. Very convenient and a quick walk from our hotel. The charcuterie starter disappointed, too simple and barely enough for 2, with mustard as the only highlight. The meal came out so fast we had barely touched our starter before our mains arrived, so we were a little taken a back and felt slightly rushed. My Hunter Cattle beef was decent but uninspired, lacking flavor on the potatoes or beef. The purée was good and light. My wife's shrimp and grits, however, were phenomenal. I wish I had stuck with my gut and ordered the grits. When paired with the white Lily biscuits her bowl was completely cleaned! Service was exceptional! Yum! Beautiful! Classic! Complex flavors! Southern! We ordered the shrimp & grits, fried chicken, deviled eggs, oysters and potato wedges with a side of truffle hollandaise sauce! We have been to Husk many times and this by far was our worst experience. We started with the hush puppies which were overcooked and flavorless. The oysters we got was the best thing we had all night. I got the duck which I have had before but this time it was not seasoned well nor was it cooked correctly. The fat was not cooked down and it was a little overcooked and hard to eat. The sauce a smoked parsnip purée was broken. The side that it came with was not very good either. It had too much of a vinegar flavor. The Shrimp and grits were good but still not up to Husk standards that we are use to. We arrived about a half hour early and decided to sit at bar. We were told our table would not be ready but we were sitting by the bar. There were quite a few tables open, especially the one they sat us at. Unsure why they would not seat us. Tried discussing Husk with the bartender, but they had little rapport. When our table was ready, the bartender refused to move tab to table. They use Toast. We were seated by bar area waiter who admitted we were at bar. When we noted we were ordering an app and 1 entree (Striploin which was a small portion for $55) without alcohol, the waiter noted our food would come in 40 minutes. Waiter popped in to refill water a few times, but limited rapport as well. Food was average and extremely overpriced. We have gone to both Charleston and Savannah Husk before but we will not return. My husband and I were in town for a concert and decided to try Husk. We sat in the main dinning room upstairs which was stunning yet cozy, even with this large room they were able to make it feel intimate. We started with a hibiscus infused old-fashioned which may sound odd, but the subtle floral infusion turned a classic cocktail into something truly special.. We shared the coal fired chicken, which may sound simple, but the sauce and side made it a wonderful combination.The shrimp and grits was a bit too rich for me but my husband thought it was some of the best he's had. What really made the evening was our server Kelly. His knowledge of the menu, wine, and cocktail list was exceptional. It was like having a pairing dinner. He introduced us to some wines that we would not have considered. The highlight was desert. Kelly suggested an apple brandy to accompany the cheesecake with an amazing crust, topped with fresh cream and poached pears. One appetizer we tried was the better fresh lettuces salad - a wonderfully delicious light start to the meal. Also tried the low country oysters. A pair of 3 types of oysters with cocktail sauce, a Husk horseradish-peanut relish and a Husk vinegar are provided so you can make up the oysters how you like them. Delicious and different. In many ways the restaurant was satisfactory. The greeters and wait staff were lovely. After sitting down indoors, when we asked if we could move out of doors "of course," was the response. There was one bit of a blip to that. There was a couple on the porch having a facetime conversation on their phone. Two of the serverers came out and actually participated in this call. I know Savannah is a tourist city but perhaps long pants and a collared shirt should be suggested for men when the reservation is made? Seeing men come in with shorts does change the atmosphere. I visited Husk Savannah for a bachelorette party brunch on a Sunday. There was a big group of us and Husk provided a private room and even printed menus related to the bachelorette party and birthday. We were celebrating. I thought that was a very nice touch.. They have a wonderful drink menu. The lunch/brunch menu is quite limited, but you will find something on it that is delicious. We really enjoyed everything we had. No food was left behind!! 11/12/2024 We finally made it to Husk (Savannah) after making reservations on our way down South. We'd tried to go to the Husk in Charleston, but covid got in the way. We decided to pass on the appetizers, so my wife ordered the Wreckfish with banana pepper, Bradford collards and chimichurri on the side. Never had wreckfish or even heard of it, but it was a very tasty fish. Not sure who this "Bradford" is, but he's all over the menu. I ordered the Heritage pork with Bradford (again) sweet potato, muscadine, cocoa nibs and aleppo. A nice portion of meat... slightly over cooked (to my taste). A nice bottle of wine (forgot which one now) and good service, but with so many great restaurants in Savannah, don't know if/when we'll be back. read more

Definitely a disappointment. We were warmly welcomed at the front by Michael. He took us upstairs to a nice corner table by a window overlooking the historic neighborhood. Unbeknownst to me, my husband had a conversation with him about it being my birthday. He assured him that a dessert would be delivered after our meal. Our server - Brenden- was the worst. He was not very good at answering questions about the menu. He totally described things inaccurately. Once he delivered our food he washed his hands of us. We asked for the check and our server asked if I wanted a dessert. I declined. I asked for a chocolate martini. He told me "we don't make those". He went back down to speak to Michael. This man made things happen. A chocolate cake arrived with a candle. And Michael personally delivered a chocolate martini. We told him the served said they can't make them. Michael said "We are going to have a conversation." OK, I am so happy that we ended up coming here for dinner and I'm absolutely obsessed with this place?? First of all, I just love that So many nice restaurants in Savannah are an old historical houses like it had such a charm and I wish the Chicago did this. We split the biscuits, the sirloin steak and the vegetable platter. I have to say that I think the vegetable platter will go down as one of the best things I ate all of 2025. Like you get to try all different seasonal vegetables and it comes on this cute little charcuterie and it's just such a good idea. We had collard greens, grits, fried egg, plant, and squash, cheesy broccoli, broccolini and incredible mushrooms. The steak itself came with really lovely green beans and a potato gratin. The biscuits were immaculate and had a slight pepper taste to them, but we're just golden perfection. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was excellent and extremely friendly. I just loved everything about this place and I can see why Michelin is starting to recognize it because they really bring southern cooking and elevate it to the next level. The ambiance was perfect with only a few other people in our room, so it was quiet and easy to talk. Our waiter, Brandon was superb and helped us greatly with our selections. Service was attentive and always on time with servings. We had the striped bass ceviche and beef tartare for starters and both were well presented and very tasty. I had their old fashioned to start with and it was excellent - you should try it. My wife had the catfish entree which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the tilefish entree which was excellent- difficult to find tilefish on most menus! This is a very nice romantic spot for a date. Took my spouse here for a night out, and the waiter was very accommodating to her requested. Describe the full Menu. I was a little embarrassed as you would think we never went out to eat before, but they had some fancy terms on the menu and the waiter was kind enough to read them, so I appreciate that. I had the salmon and it tasted great. They have an outstanding selection of alcohol as well, so you can pretty much can get what you want. However, the only reason I didn't give them a five is because they've got up thier old fashion game. A restaurant of this caliber should make an old fashioned smoked and or use ice balls or square cubes not just plain ice cubes. Other than that, I'll definitely come back. read more

Service was excellent. Food was sub-par across every course. Chicken liver toast was soggy (maybe it was pre-prepared?). Flavor was ok, but the texture of soggy toast was off point. And that was according to a member of the party who likes extra salt. Swordfish was very thinly sliced and extremely overcooked and dry. Difficult to even swallow. Not edible. Heirloom pork dish was also disappointing...overcooked and too dry to eat. Strangely served with one full slice of undercooked pork fat. Not sure what the kitchen was trying to achieve. Ordered side of Southern vegetables. Beans were bland, Grits were smothered in some taco-flavored red sauce. Potatoes and shisitos were ok. Radishes and celery chunks served with what appeared to be Ranch dressing out of a bottle. Lastly, the collard greens were bitter and had big pieces of stem. Jimmy Red cornbread was too dry to butter...simply fell apart. Restaurant was very loud...with no intimacy. Not sure what happened to Husk? Dessert of poached pear cheesecake was just ok. Good flavor...but over-salted. Maybe too much flake salt? Our dinner party agreed that Husk has gone downhill and are trying to "Wow" and unfortunately totally missing the mark at every turn. Can't believe I'm writing a bad review about Husk, but my party of 5 that I placed a reservation for in JULY (now October) was pretty much ignored the entire dinner. What was supposed to be a 2 hour dinner at 6:30 PM lasted until almost 10 PM. The waitress admitted a party that "wasn't supposed to be there" was there clogging up service but still, shouldn't we have a good experience? We waited 2 hours for our entrées and even though the dessert was comped we opted to decline because we didn't want to wait any longer. Please fix your service, I'm debating ever going back here.
