    My smile before treatment
    Adri E.

As someone whose smile was their biggest insecurity, finding a great orthodontist was super important to me! My general dentist did ortho in house, but since I had a gummy smile I wanted to correct he referred me to an office that he worked with. My general dentist recommended that I ask for TADs to bring up my teeth to shorten my smile. So, I went in for a consultation at the referred ortho in Lakewood and it was such a horrible experience that I knew I had to shop around on my own and I am so happy I did! That said ortho office was pushing Invisalign AND JAW SURGERY and said that fixing my smile with TADs would not be effective. I refused jaw surgery and the ortho said "FINE!" and still prescribed me with Invisalign and TADs and left the room. (You just know he's getting bonuses for pushing those little clear aligners ) I found Bloom Ortho after googling and searches through my insurance and again, I am so happy I advocated for myself and found this office. The office is so clean and modern, and the fact that it is women-owned and ran by women made me feel even more comfortable. Overall, the experience I had over the two years of my orthodontist was always pleasant and fast! There were a few times where a wire popped off or a bracket broke, and they were able to take me in within a good time frame. We did traditional metal braces with TADs and I honestly could not be more happy with my smile. I always thought I would get veneers at some point in my life, but now I LOVE my smile and feel as if I don't need them! Thank you Bloom Ortho Y'all are the best.

    My smile after InBrace

I had the most amazing experience at Bloom Orthodontics. From start to finish, I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made the whole process so seamless. I'm sort of a shy person, so it makes a huge difference to me when the staff is friendly and welcoming. I came to Bloom seeking treatment with InBrace, as I'd failed Invisalign before and needed something I couldn't take out and forget to put back in. My doctor was very knowledgeable, straightforward, and honest about what to expect from InBrace. I was given a realistic timeframe for when my teeth would be straight, and they were straight by that time! I highly recommend Bloom Orthodontics. I'm so happy with my smile!

These are my bottom teeth. Permanent retainer peeling off (I barely got it 4 weeks ago!!) Bad quality at Bloom Orthodontics.

Good review: (1) Very sweet staff and clean office. (2) Your appointment always starts on time and you are attended to right away. (3) Plenty of parking and easy to get to if you're from Long Beach. Bad review: (1) Limited office hours. They are not open Monday-Friday all day. No weekends either. Very difficult to book if you're on a busy work/school schedule. (2) When they removed my braces, the technician was NOT gentle and kept slipping & hitting my gums. This made them VERY swollen and made my gums bleed sooo much. (3) Dr. Thao buys BAD QUALITY supplies. Cheap glue & wire used with the permanent retainer. The glue and wire was peeling off. (This retainer is new... only 4 weeks old). Please see my pictures. Thank you.

I highly recommend Dr. Thao Vu! She's very knowledgeable and meticulous! My journey started with a consultation in mid-2018. Dr. Vu presented me with a few options (traditional braces, invisalgn, or inbrace/lingual braces). At the time being in my late 20s, I opted for inbrace. To start the process, I needed 4 extractions (each corner) because I had overcrowding. Unfortunately, my case for inbrace was denied (took a few weeks to find out) due to me needing extractions, which meant my case would be more complicated. The moment I found out my case was denied, I was bummed because that meant I can only go with traditional braces (while in my late 20s planning for a wedding within 2 years) because I knew I wouldn't be compliant with invisalign & it would end up being a waste of money. To my surprise, Dr. Vu presented me with another option of getting extractions first & then just having wires/rubber bands on each corner to help close the spaces first and resubmit my case for inbrace. In Fall 2018, I got 4 extractions & then Dr. Vu added wires/rubber bands to each corner to help close the space. She started seeing me every 4-6 weeks (until Covid). Within a few months, I saw a huge improvement with my teeth straightening without having braces yet. By Fall 2019, my case was approved for inbrace & I started with inbrace both top & bottom for a few months until Dr. Vu informed me that my bottom teeth weren't shifting as fast due to inbrace not being as aggressive as traditional braces (there was so much overcrowding on the bottom before). She offered me the option of keeping inbrace on top & getting traditional braces on the bottom to speed up the process, which I agreed. Fast forward to Feb 2022, I got my bottom braces off & Mar 2022, I got my top braces off. On my wedding day (Feb 2022), I still had inbrace on top, which no one noticed. Most people didn't notice I had braces at all throughout the process. My process was bumpy, but I have one suggestion: be open-minded. Everyone's mouth & teeth are different. Dr. Vu will give estimates & time frames, but they can change due to things out of her control. I experienced a lot of breakage (wires, rubber bands, etc) due to my strong jaw/clenching. I was supposed to wear rubber bands to fix my overbite, but one button came off during covid & I couldn't see Dr. Vu for months, so that slowed down the process too. What I appreciate was Dr. Vu was upfront about the cost and once I paid it off, she continued doing the work until it was done. She didn't take shortcuts or use snakey tactics. For example, some believe that orthos give an estimate of 2 years but drag it out longer so you pay more, but it's definitely not the case here (unless patients decide to add on additional services). Dr. Vu is very informative and presents all the options pertaining to your particular case, but never forces anything. She gave me all the knowledge I needed to make decisions for myself. One negative is the limited hours. I was lucky to have been in grad school and have an untraditional work schedule, where I was able to fit in visits to the ortho. But the limited hours is to see Dr. Vu herself (she keeps a good eye on all her cases). In the case that I had an emergency like something broke, I was able to schedule other days/times to see an assistant to fix for me (same day or same week). The limited days/times may be due to work-life balance or other personal reasons, but just know that Dr. Vu puts 100% in when working with her patients. The meticulous work and service that she provides is worth the time/hassle of limited days/hours. She has a 2nd location in Garden Grove now! Timeline: September 2018: 4 teeth extractions, wire/rubber bands on each corner to close the space September 2019: inbrace on top & bottom Some time in 2020: inbrace on top & traditional braces on bottom February 2022: bottom braces off March 2022: top braces off

I love my smile now! Thanks bloom

Starting with Marisol who sched me as soon as 2 days away, and me calling the next day asking if I can go sooner, and Mayra emphatizing how im in so much pain bumped me to the very same day of my 2nd call instead of the following day. Soon as I got there, I saw so many people in the lobby and I thought this would take forever, but i could see people were being called in one after another. Lots of people have gone inside within the same hour because they were there for Braces. However, mine was an emergency appointment for the general dentistry services which involves first visit x-ray, consultations, in my goal of having tooth extraction. Vero in the front desk comforted me as she knew I possibly would wait a bit since I'm not a regular appointment. She was fun to talk to and all of them in the front desk were very friendly. I then found out there was only 1 dentist on duty when I was called in, separate from their behind the front desk are 6 dentist chairs lined up like gym treadmill or exercise bikes, that was for their braces customers. What a sight to see, all their equipment were so very new and advanced. The entire office is quite cold like being aboard an airplane cold. Further inside is the general dentist side and I counted at least 8 open dental rooms maybe more, at least 5 or 6 of them with patients for 1 Super Dentist. Next I met Michelle, dental assistant who did my all my x-ray and prepping. This was the very first time ever I had an x-ray where I didn't gag, normally the x-ray film packets are so very large and intrusive that I always end up gagging, this was probably half size of a credit card clipped into a handle and being held in one hand by Michelle and with her other hand, a portable hand x-ray gadget that you'd think you were in a 90's star trek episode. It's that high tech. Plus the all around 3-D imaging x-ray machine where you stand is also there just a tad bit more high-tech than what we had in the military. I almost wanted to be beamed up to an starship. So all 6 maybe even more patients were being handled by 1 amazing and beautiful on duty dentist Dr. Golshan who gave me the initial consultation. A very young lady I thought was in her mid 20s where later I found out she's actually 31. Most of the ladies there looked like they were in their early to mid 20s yet some were actually in their late 20s and early 30s. Next I met with Miss Mickey who gave me the cost breakdown of options and even helped me decide by providing feedback what if I get this and skip that etc, and all this without feeling pressured. She then reworked the numbers to lower my total cost based on my preferred choices. Usually other dental offices like the one I've been loyal to for over 11 years often gives me some pressure to follow what they want so they can get more from the insurance yet this office does not. From 2 pm even with 6-7 patients or more before me who are on actual appointments, Dr. Golshan started with me around 420pm or so... and she goes around patients whenever there is an opportunity of a short pause like waiting for anesthetics to take effect, she then works on another patient. This is an amazing multi-tasking Superwoman dentist that I've never expected, I mean to me she's a Supergirl and belongs in Fantastic 4 as she really amazed me with all her dental skills and great bedside manner. My last dental office for over 11 years handled about 6 maybe 7 total patients for the entire day with 2 dentists on duty. Dr Golshan was handling more than 7 and that was from the time i got there at 2pm so most likely she had done more earlier. She was very efficient, having an all hands helpful staff to her, even while patients are being worked on. You hear very fun music and all staff even patients are reacting to the energy, the vibe and the music - this was highly unusual for a dental office. The staff even comforted me from the cold temperatures by letting me use 2 blankets and even dimmed the lights while I wait for the doctor as she is multitasking where I got some rest. This is also the very first dental office not only having high tech advanced equipment, but this office has a lot of light. Great fun decorated environment short of not having an aquarium in the lobby, i mean you feel like your in an aquarium water theme park as far as the decorations and surroundings. I do wish I had met one of the two founders, Dr. Abaro in person from what I hear, he has 16 dental offices and all these great staff working for him, gives me the impression he is a very very good dentist. I'm pending to schedule for my cleaning, filling and partial teeth fitting/fulfillment. Thank you to all the staff and specially Dr. Golshan
