    Getting a check up
    Sheryl S.

I was new to the area so I asked acquaintances where they take their pets for checkups, etc. Bloom Pet Hospital came recommended. My pup is going on 10 years old very soon. He's in good health and I want to keep him healthy. The staff at Bloom was helpful and courteous. The Vet was thorough and went over his history before the exam. I was impressed with the attention she gave my boy. She did the necessary tests. She discussed all the tests prior to performing them. She answered all my questions to my satisfaction too. The staff called with test results as soon as the came back. Definitely nice to get the anticipation of results over with quickly. I would recommend this Vet to all my friends and to all of you!

IGNORE GOOD REVIEWS FOR HORSECART. That was a different business with different vets…read more I would give negative stars if I could. You think a vet would be capable of working with dogs with anxiety. We had been working with Dr. Thomas for years on getting a good anxiety med/dosage for one-off situations (ex fireworks or vet visits). She was always reluctant and judgmental for us wanting to use a medication. She said we needed to put him through more training. After a few years of dealing with her judgement, we decided to switch to the other vet in the office. He was pleasant during our annual exam. He said he didn't know why Dr. Thomas gave our dog such a low dosage. He normally starts dogs off at double what he was currently prescribed. We've only had to use the anxiety meds once since his annual exam, but they seem to do much better this time. So things were looking ok. We were happy with the new vet enough to stay with Nisqually. That was until we got an email saying that they didn't do one of his vaccines during his annual exam. We would now need to come in again to have that redone. Mind you, our dog doesn't do well going to the vet. We were also going to have to pay another office visit fee, for their mistake. We would have to pay for more gas, for their mistake. We would have to pay to use some of our dogs anxiety meds, for their mistake. We're done with them. We've gone to Pinehurst Vet in Lacey for their ER services and were very happy with our experience there. We already have an appointment with them to get my dogs missed vaccine taken care of.

When I came to pick them up she asked me if I wanted her to bring them to the front. I said yes, but to bring them one at a time since my bitch was in heat. Next thing I see is she is coming out with both dogs. I grabbed one of the dogs and said "No. She is in heat." The groomer responded with "I did not know that". It's one thing to make a mistake but another to lie about it. Additionally, I wrote a letter describing this situation to the owner, Vicki. The manager replied with an email. To it she attached video footage of the event. In this email she attempted to explain why the groomer came out with both dogs together. I had several people read this email to see if they could understand the explanation it. They could not. In this email the manager also tried to rephrase the groomer's statement as"'I didn't know you didn't want me to walk them together because we had just talked about that in the grooming office." It's a good thing they had the video footage because it clearly shows the groomer saying "I did not know that" in response to me saying "No. she is in heat" when she brought them out together. Again I had several people read the email. They couldn't understand it either. The email did not contain one word of apology, which would have gone a long way. I just got an email saying that they had cancelled my future boarding appointments...petty.
