Okay so it's 2 stars because it's not like a free style, buffalo exchange type store (which from yelp I was kinda expecting. It's small and they seem to price their items all the same all jeans $14 shoes were $14 but items are worn, dated, and brands that you can get new for just a little more if you hit up tj maxx. read more

I love Bloom. They work with Calworks to provide business attire for females and males. They scheduled an appointment with me and had two stylists bring me different outfits. They asked about my style and colors I liked and had a really good selection. I am plus size so typically its hard to shop anyway. I felt like I was at Nordstroms being treated like a rich person! The whole experience made me feel so confident and ready to land a job! I got a whole business casual wardrobe, shoes, jewelry even a bra! Truly a great non-profit service and retail store. Bloom, formerly Image For Success, has been my ultimate Go-To for clothing for years. As a Seamstress, I look for pieces with "potential" which I can easily alter to perfection. The high end classics that fill the store have never let me down! Ann, the Monday through Wednesday Retail Store Manager knows all her regular customers by name and has an unbeatable eye for that "WOW!" Piece of clothing. Leslie, the Retail Store Manager from Thursday through Saturday is a whirlwind and handles their occasional weekend half off sales with ease. All the volunteers who work there have great personalities and keep the store in top shape ALL the time. You will NEVER walk into Bloom and get that odor which seems to be endemic in OTHER resale stores. Every garment is clean and pressed before it goes out on the racks. p.s. Don't forget to check the $5.00 rack out front. You just might find some Ralph Lauren Suede pants like I did! read more

It's hit or miss, I like their mission and must of the volunteers are very nice. But there is one of them who is awful! She is rude if you don't buy stuff, and today she pulled a bag I had with a throw I had just picked from the dry cleaners. I understand that it could look suspicious, but just ask. Crazy good bargains especially if you hit it on a sale day which means 50% off items that aren't much over $10 to start. Every one there has enthusiasm and a passion that exceeds what you run into at Nordstrom. (Sorry staff at Nordstrom). The fact that the money goes to a good cause just makes it that much better. I love this store so much! I've lost count of the amazing things I've found there, but my favorites are the $17 Armani Jacket, $7 Dior Jacket, and $20 Armani and Burberry coats. Gorgeous! This is the best thrift store ever. First it's a not-for-profit which benefits people who are making their way to a new life, and need clothing for a new job. The beneficiaries of their program receive more than just something to attend an interview in - they are granted an entire work wardrobe so they have appropriate outfits once they get the job. The store offers high quality clothing for wonderful prices, and they even have sales that bring prices down more. Most clothing offered were made by designer brands, some of which I might not even own if it weren't for this terrific store. Customer service is great, too. Workers offer a real neighborhood gem kind of attitude, recognizing return customers and asking how they've been. I always look forward to my visits to this shop, and I've never actually left empty-handed. read more

This store only gets one star because of the service, or lack thereof. I've been going in there for YEARS and it always felt like a little family. The gals that worked there were always friendly, helpful and nice. Today I was in the store about 10 min gathering things to try on, wandered around the store a bit, then made my way to the dressing room, tried everything on, it was only when I was on my way out of the store - LITERALLY - did the gal say "Hi". Never ONCE did they acknowledge my presence the entire time. Unbelievable RUDE. They were too busy talking about their personal lives and looking at new jewelry arrivals to be friendly. I don't shop where people are rude and unfriendly to me. I will take my long standing business elsewhere. GOOD LUCK! read more

Thrift store shopping can be a bit, um, gritty. Some big stores have lots of stuff, but the stores and items have a certain odor and the items are of questionable quality. I do like this place, as far as thrift store shopping is concerned. It's a small shop with some interesting items (purses, clothing, jewelry, scarves), you just have to look. The volunteer staff is friendly, affable and can actually carry on a conversation (a big plus). Parking sucks, but what's new? If you love thrift shopping, check this place out! read more

My father passed away and left behind beautifully tailored clothing and expensive items that still had a great deal of use left in them. I knew, especially for people trying to get back on their feet/back into the workforce, that D for S was the perfect place to donate the items. I also discovered it's a great place to shop as well. From gifts for others (bought a beautiful silver cross for a friend and an adorable sweater for my teen daughter) to new clothing for myself (will be looking for more Travel Smith items today), it is As good as it gets! read more

A wonderful local non profit business, that helps families in transition as they begin to work with social service agencies to have a life of self reliance. Wonderful staff members and volunteers aid the effective running of this non profit. The items in the store are seasonal, high quality, very reasonably priced, and vary in size, color, and brand. For any families with kids, young adults, and people new to the working world needing clothing appropriate for work, Bloom (formerly Image for Success) is the place to go. Image for success helps men, women and children in need of an improved sense of self-respect by providing a two-week wardrobe filled with quality clothing and the personal attention necessary to build self-esteem. This Marin County Green Business allowed me to volunteer in their retail store and I not only gained experience in retail for future employment but I also found the most inexpensive current style clothing in all of Marin. Today, is their half off day and I'm buying expensive brand names for $1.50! High end professional clothes at great prices, which support a great cause. My only issue with the store is that I find so many great deals, I end up with a carful of items every time I go! Best finds have been women's Blazers, jackets, shirts and skirts. Pants are a little hit and miss and I haven't found any luck with shoes yet. This store has very reasonably priced designer clothes. It is pleasant and well laid out. I got there on a one-half off day, and bought two pairs of Ferragamo shoes in very good condition for $8.00 each. My favorite boutique! I'm a regular shopper at Image for Success. They must have a well dressed group of donors! I have found stunning clothes at Image for Success at incredible prices. And, the staff and volunteers who run both the boutique and the wardrobe choice room for beneficiaries care for and display the clothing with attention to detail. Clothes are pressed and neatly hung. Displays make sense (usually colors kept together within a specific size range. I've seen the back area for Image for Success clients and it is equally impressive and carefully presented. This agency fulfills its mission with dignity for the clients and adds to its fundraising by providing an excellent shopping experience in the "boutique." Not only do I regularly find great clothes there, but I feel good about supporting this wonderful non-profit agency. I get compliments all the time on the clothes I wear from Image for Success and I never fail to tell people where I shop. read more
