When we arrived at the showroom during their posted hours, a blinking "open" sign greeted us. However, the door was locked and had a piece of paper taped up instructing to call for an appointment to see the showroom. I called, no one answered and it went to Mr. Le's voicemail. From the reviews I have no doubt about the proprietor's domain expertise, and it's perfectly legitimate to have a "by appointment only" showroom, but from my perspective a shop should actually be open when they claim to be. Let me start by saying that I'm very happy I went with this place. The owner Tony (aka Le) is very professional and his prices are great. He does free estimations and comes over with a box full of samples and colors to choose from. He never pressures you into anything and is very polite and patient. I chose him for his shutters and one blinds (see attached pictures). Once you know what you want, he will prepare a contact/invoice. You'll have to down payment of 50% in order for him order the items. He'll call you as soon as your products arrive, which took about a month. Then, you can set up an appointment with him to install everything. On the day of the installation, he came over with two employees and it took them about 6-7 hours to installed all my windows. They did a great job of course, thus the five stars! I had recently installed new carpet and really appricate the fact that they took off their shoes when walking around. After the job well done, I was shocked to see that they have yet to have a single review on yelp. I told Tony that I would be honored to write him one for a job well done. Just had a no-show consultation appointment with Lee (sorry if my spelling is wrong... ...because I never got a business card... ....because he never showed up!) Had a 7:00 consultation time scheduled at my home for shutters - the amount of work being done probably runs into the 4-5k range. At 6:10 I get a phone call that I cannot answer because I am already on the line in another appointment with another contractor. I finish that appointment a few minutes before 7, right on schedule, and go to check my voicemail. It's a call from Lee - presumably letting me know he is on the way? Nope. It's Lee saying, "do you still want appointment?" Why would I not? I call Lee. He's at someone else's home. Mind you, he needed enough time to call this other person and drive to their location. So he basically didn't hear from me for like 10 minutes and then just took it on himself to assume that I must have forgotten. Well when you assume... ...you know the rest. Not even a second phone call man? What kind of business do you run? Be a professional! I ran an appointment only business for years with (literally) thousands of appointments in total and was late to less than I can count by on my fingers and no-showed to ZERO appointments. I understand that sometimes customers forget and that wastes business people's time. It happened to me dozens of times. But you don't just no show after making one phone call a few minutes before the allotment time. People make appointments for the same reason you do - we are also busy doing other things and I can't drop whatever I am doing just to keep you from screwing me over. I don't care what his price is - there are plenty of other well rated window treatment companies with the exact same products and they'll be getting my money instead because they showed up when they said. We had to buy a saw to cut them all down, which took time and patience given we ordered 13+ blinds. I called within the 30 days of receiving the blinds and was told by a rather rude and gruff man that "too bad" it was beyond 30 days from ordering. After doing a lot of research and getting quotes from different vendors, I decided to go with Express Blinds! The pricing is very reasonable, compared to other places. First, I decided to give Express Blinds a call. Within a few hours Lee came over, measured all the windows, showed samples and options of all the material and quality he offers, and gave us a quote right away. I decided on Norman Plantation Shutters on all the windows in my house, 15 windows to be exact. Lee was very honest and upfront about everything, he told us all the pros and cons about each products and answered all of our questions honestly. I didn't make a decision right away because i needed more time to think about it, but Lee was still very happy and not pushy in making a sale. After a month of shopping around i decided to go with Express Blinds and Lee came over for the second time to make sure all the measurements were correct and to make sure we didn't have any other questions. At first, making an appointment with Mr. Lee was easy. He took his measurements on two living room windows and told me to contact him again if I wanted to order the plantation shutter.  We sent him a message about exactly what plantation shutters we wanted and asked him to order it.  He responded " Okay Anthony, Will do".  He also informed me that it would take 6-8 weeks since it's shipped from China.  We waited 4 weeks and asked him what the ETA of the blinds would be.  After two messages and two days of no response from Mr. Lee, we finally called him up.  We found out that not only did he not order the shutters but he also needed to take measurements again and write it down?!  I don't really care if you forgot our measurements but please inform us ASAP so we're not waiting a month thinking our plantation shutters are going to arrive.  Especially since we currently have gift wrapping paper and Styrofoam taped to our living room window for privacy.... We then scheduled another appointment with him that ended with a no show.  Once again we messaged him and he responded back a day later saying that he was sick.  I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he was actually sick and did not forget our appointment however he asked to schedule an appointment the next day. First of all, you should send a courtesy notice that you're not able to make the appointment so we're not waiting for your arrival. Secondly, you really shouldn't be scheduling an appointment the very next day if you've been sick especially during this Covid pandemic.  Definitely would not recommend Express Blinds if I have to beg someone to run their own business. read more

This is a review for the plantation shutters that I ordered a couple of months ago and Lee from Express Blinds installed a couple of weeks ago. The whole experience was very positive. Lee was very courteous from the very beginning. To be honest I had already made my research for the different types of plantation shutters and options that exist so I was almost set on the general look of what I wanted. Lee showed me some samples as well, we went through all the options and he gave me a quote. His price was by far the best I could find! He was really helpful in deciding between Norman versus Hunter Douglas cellular blinds and did not pressure me choosing the more expensive Hunter Douglas blinds. Although Hunter Douglas does have nicer looking, better quality, and a greater selection of fabrics, I ended up choosing Norman. Lee gave me a very competitive price on blinds for the entire house compared to a few other vendors. We are very happy with our purchase of 5 Hunter Douglas blinds. Lee came to our home quickly and was punctual. He does not offer decorating advice and does not give an itemized bill, but he is knowledgeable about the products he offers and does not pressure you in any way.
