WAY overpriced and honestly a scam. The girl did a great job on the manicure itself, but when I went to go pay I almost had a heart attack. They charge $40 extra for chrome where everywhere else I've ever been charges $20 for the exact same brand. Their excuse for charging more was that it didn't chip in comparison to others. Here we are less than a week later, chrome chipped per usual. In total WITHOUT tip for a hard gel mani with NO extensions and chrome... $130. When I called to let them know that it had chipped, their excuse now for charging more for chrome was because to keep up with the rent. There are other salons in the area that do just as good of a job and that won't rob you. read more

So I recently moved from NYC to JC and came here Saturday morning before 10 opening time as I wanted a French mani/pedi for an event. To my surprise there were 2 women being serviced so I walked in. I Was greeted well and then before Asked what I wanted the two women spoke to each other in their language. One asked what I wanted i mani/pedi they started speaking again then said do I have an appointment. I said no but I can wait the 5 min until 10 if that's a problem. They begin speaking again.. I asked is there availability one is looking on computer the other away preparing the pedi sink for another customer said we're full. I said ok what time are you available she said leave your number. I asked if they can tell me a time for today or tomorrow I was told leave a number they'll let me know. Then I come on yelp and not w very few comments or post from BIPOC and then reviews states a black woman was turned away 4 times different reasons. I will not return and do not recommend. I was made to be so uncomfortable. Now I'm a 40 year old professional black woman. Not that it matters because I'm a paying customer or would have been. Tried this place for the first time. I called ahead at around 12PM and asked if there was availability for a gel mani for 12:30. They said yes, took down my name and told me they'd see me at 12:30. I arrived at 12:30 but no one was free. I ended up waiting another 25 minutes before someone could see me. My nails were atrocious and in dire need of a gel manicure so I waited. Got a gel manicure with Vee ("like the letter" as she told me.) My experience with her made up for the long wait. She was meticulous and did a thorough job. I went to the salon hoping to get dip powder extension and a simple linear design. I had Lina. The nails came out good, I had to be really on top of the evenness so don't expect to be laid back. Before I left the customer before me had an issue with the width of her nails and got them fixed by the manager I believe. When it came to the design, the lines were sloppy, some Sara's uneven or even looked smudged. I am not one to complain, it's embarrassing for me, but there was no way I was going to leave with that, so I spoke up and we agreed that the design would come off, but then they all refused to try again. They didn't charge me for the design, so great. But I couldn't believe how they really made me feel like I was the issue. And now I'm looking at my plain nails and three of them are uneven. I wanted to support this local salon since Lisa had been the sweetest during previous visits. however, after scheduling a 4:30 appointment and leaving 3 hours later, this will be my last time. If you call ahead, the receptionist will always say there is availability. However, the salon was very backed up and very under staffed. That part of the experience was frustrating enough. To top it all off-- I requested a dip service and used the color wheel to choose my color. The color applied was definitely not the dark purple color as requested but rather a bright neon purple. I explained to Lisa that the color was not the same, showed her the color that I choose and she assured me when the process was complete, it would be the color I requested. It was not. I now have neon purple nails that look ridiculous. But wait, it gets even worse. The nail tech Lucy scavenged through the garbage bin and removed used/ previously worn pedicure flip flops and toe separators. I had a very bad experience. First, I arrive, and they say it's a 25 min wait, I end up waiting for 45. That's usually expected, so I'm not as upset about that. I ask how much for a design, they say just $5 extra. Then, I ask for a design, simple, triangle. She does it and it looks kinda bad, I tell her and she says she will fix it after it dries. She also pretty much dyed my fingers a faint blue because she kept getting the polish on my fingers and then using nail polish remover to get it out, but it wasn't getting out of my skin. She also cut my skin open in two spots, my pinky and thumb, I was bleeding. Not a lot, but it still kinda sucked. The design was pretty awful, she freehanded it, and when I pointed out that the design was still not good after it dried, she just said my nails were too small. Seriously? If they had told me that in the first place, I wouldn't have even tried it. Then, I'm still drying my nails, and the other woman, who seems like the owner, checks on my nails and I can tell she also thinks the first woman did a really bad job. She tried to fix it, but it almost got worse. Then, when I go to pay, they now tell me it's $5 per hand, not just $5 extra. I paid $25 for an awful look. I did not tip. I was there for 2 hours. I am extremely disappointed, gave this place a chance because I saw some good reviews, but trust the 2.5 star rating.
