This salon is definitely more convenient for those who live by Exchange Place and Paulus Hook than the majority of salons which are by Grove and Newport. It is pretty small - only about 5 manicure chairs and 3 pedicure chairs. I have not had any issue getting an appointment. The online booking system is easy to use. The prices here are about $5 to $10 higher than other salons in the area, however there's often a promo so then the costs are better than others. I had a much better pedicure experience than I did manicure. I think the interior of this salon was maybe redone recently? It seems freshly painted, but then things like the nail polishes all generally looked half empty and dried out. There are no fans or vents on the manicure stations so there is powder from when they buff the nail polish off that coats everything. Not all the tools come out of the sanitizer packs which I did not like at all. There is a really large selection of dip powders. There was an underwhelming choice of gel polish colors to choose from. My nails did not all come out the same shape - some were round while others had an odd round-square shape. I was disappointed that one of the gel nails chipped 3 days after getting it done and a few more had chipped within a week. The pedicure stayed much longer and overall looked better than the manicure. read more

Let's just say- I am writing this 5 days later at a new nail salon, trying to repair what they did. First off, the way they were done just looked horrendous. I got over it. 2 days after my appointment the nail cracked and destroyed my nail causing it to break below the nail bed. Also took about 2 hours and 5 minutes. I regret going here. I came here for a relaxing pedicure and now have a painful bleeding big toe that I fear is infected. I've been here in the past and it always felt so rushed but thought nothing of it since there were other patrons. Went a few days ago when it was very empty and the whole visit was soo rushed! The water was insanely hot. I kept telling the technician before fully submerging my feet after 3 times. It's like she wasn't listening to a thing! I said, PLEASE DONT CUT MY CUTICLES - only FILE! She repeated back what I said too. I closed my eyes to relax and felt a sharp horrible pain and SAW HER HOLDING SCISSORS or some other sharp tool. I repeated back please don't my cuticles or anything - only file. She smiled which put me at ease and didn't use any tools on the other foot. At that point, I just didn't want to make a scene - I just wanted to get my nails painted and GTFO. Later that night my toe is killing me and in the morning is bleeding. I also feel she tried to cover up where she cut my skin on the side with the nail polish (which was burgundy so covered the color of the cut to hide) . Now im walking around with a stupid bandaid and neosporin over a new pedicure in pain and scheduling a podiatrist visit. read more

Heads above the mega nail salons on Newark street or at Newport mall or Bayone. Yup you heard me. This tiny salon is a hidden gem. I recommend the gel manicure. And the reg pedicure comes with a hot towel and a leg massage. The manicure lasts two weeks. The salon is clean and it doesn't matter which technician you get they are all good. I think I've seen 2 different women here (Fatima is great)--both women were attentive and took time shaping/prepping my nails which I appreciated (other salons in the area kinda seemed like they were on auto-pilot). If I could give negative starts, I would. First picture is what I asked for. Other three pictures is what I got. Was serviced by two ladies. One started working on my nails, don't know her name. Then she passed me over to Vanessa to finish, for whatever reason. She got shape wrong, length is wrong, nails are uneven and poorly covered. When I pointed out the patchiness of the cover, Vanessa tried to fix it. But while she was fixing it, she was talking to the other lady on Spanish saying "this one sees everything. Her being pregnant doesn't give her a right to have attitude. As soon as she walked in I felt her attitude". They didn't realize that I actually speak Spanish and understood everything they were saying. What a shame, discuss your customer right in their face. Me being pregnant has nothing to do with the poor job that was done on my nails. Simply disgusting. And now my wedding nails are ruined, hopefully it would not be too noticeable on the pictures. I recently moved from hudson yards nyc to Jersey city and have been hunting to find the perfect nail salon. Unfortunately this nail salon missed so much on the mark. First, I made an appointment 2-3 days prior online and on the day of my schedule opened up. I called their telephone number listed on their website and instagram (201 763 7506) multiple times with no answer, or call back, to see if they had any earlier availability. My last salon I was at would always call us back if they missed our calls because they truly did value their customers and their time. That should have been my cue not to go. But instead I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and considered that they were busy (it was a Wednesday around 1:30pm so take that into consideration) and I walked in just to see if I could see in person if I could move up my appointment. I walked in and there was NO ONE in the nail salon. So now it seemed to me that my recent calls were simply ignored. It wasn't a welcoming and warm atmosphere, rather, I felt as if I was annoying them (especially the elder lady who did end up doing my nails). She didn't even greet me, say her name or even ask what shape I want my nails. She just proceeded to do them. OK - I'm thinking maybe they aren't so friendly but maybe they could make up in the talent aspect. Wrong. While she was doing my nails she used a brush to dust off the extra dipping powder, aggressively, all in my face and coat. Luckily for her she had a mask on, instead I was inhaling and eating dip powder. The nail colors are SO off. My nail color looks completely different than the nail color I chose on the selection. I was looking for a soft baby pink and the nail color ended up with a much darker shade. I pointed that out and all she stated was "What you don't like it?" No it's not that I don't like it but it wasn't the color as advertised. I digressed. I accepted the nail color. But her lack of communication and attention to detail was obvious when I pointed that out and that was her first response. At the end of my visit, I was just lost for words between 0 communication about nail shape/color, the aggressive powder brushing in my face, nails all different lengths and different shapes and to top it off - their website advertises $5 off on dip nails (Tuesday through Thursday) so instead of $55 it should have been $50. NOPE guess what they charged me? $55. I didn't argue, as I could see the bait and switch game for new customers. So not even a week later and my nails are already chipped and a disaster. I haven't even done anything strenuous to even cause this. Even with that said, if I did the nails should have held together (as all the other nail salons I've visited has). The good reviews is really what got me and unfortunately my nails look like crap and the whole experience was unwelcoming. Maybe it's different depending on the nail tech you get. But please do NOT go to the elder lady. I spent $55 for my nails to last 4-5 days, uneven, all different lengths and a cold, uninviting environment. Maybe choose another nail tech.
