I had broken some nails on this hand so they're shorter

Came here because another reviewer mentioned $20 gel mani but upon arrival it's actually $25. [my review isn't all positive BUT I would consider trying this place out again] Regular mani/pedi is $35 for either men or women (mani alone $13 and pedi alone $23 so no deal for doing both) which is pricier than waterfront for manicure alone. Now I'm not particular unhappy with it because the mani is ok (not great) but It's a very simple place that didn't appear to use enough equipment sanitation beyond a diluted alcohol spray on the items before using (maybe I'm wrong but that's what it looked like). There's a wall with prices that makes it seem like if you get a set or tips, there's a lot of up charges (I heard the girl near me shockingly say "it's more for coffin shape??"). $25 isn't a bad price (file, clean cuticles, buff, apply gel, light and quick hand massage, no hot towels like other spots, and you're done) but I might consider spending the $5 more near the waterfront for a slightly more "luxurious" treatment. I will say that the woman doing my nails spent a good amount of Time cleaning my cuticles which I appreciated because they've been bad during COVID. Staff seemed nice so I might come back to try the pedicure.

They do amazing pedicures. I've just started getting acrylics and they have officially converted me to keep getting it. They have done a great job and try to be accommodating to the designs you want. The wait can be ridiculous at times though.

My nails were done with such precision! I think Maria is the one who did my nails. She was fantastic!

I came here on a whim because there weren't that many reviews or photos but i was pleasantly surprised with how amazing my nails came out. My nail tech took her time with nails and they came out amazing!

    This is how I left

The worst experience. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I got so annoyed that I left before the woman could correct my nails. I ask for a destn that was way above her skill level but she couldn't admit it.

Kathy did an amazing job. I did gel manicure and regular pedicure #503.

First time doing my nails at this location. I was willing to give it a try and was surprised by how fast I was able to get a nail tech. The lady was friendly but that's about as positive of a experience I received. I requested a full set and as soon as she started working on my nails, I knew it would be bad. I had to constantly ask the lady to fix this or that. I even had to ask for my cuticles to be cut! My nails were all uneven and extremely thick. When I asked for them to be fixed again and again anddddddd again, the lady didn't seem pressed about it and told me it would look better at the end. Once the polish went on, it highlighted how poor the acrylic nails actually were. The pictures were taken minutes after leaving the salon.

I've been to this salon in the past, but after my most recent visit, I won't be returning. I…read morescheduled an appointment for a French gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure felt rushed--while they did cut and file the nails and trim the cuticles, that was the extent of it. There was no real cleaning done, like removing dry skin or buildup from under the nails, which is something I've always expected as a basic part of a pedicure. Things went further downhill during the manicure. After prepping my nails, the technician asked which base color I wanted for the French manicure. When I looked down at my nails, I was shocked to see they were covered in white scratches and marks. My nails were bare when I walked in, and it was clear the damage was from overly aggressive filing of the nail beds. When I politely pointed this out, instead of taking responsibility, the owner gave me a series of dismissive explanations--blaming the condition of my nails on the fact that I hadn't been to the salon in a while, implying I must have done something to them beforehand, and finally saying they were "super dry" (which somehow justified the scratches). None of these made sense, and at that point, I decided I didn't feel comfortable continuing with the manicure. What made it worse was that they had already applied and cured the gel top coat. When I asked how they planned to remove it without further damaging my already painful nails, they proceeded to attempt to soak them in acetone--despite just claiming my nails were too dry. In the end, I paid for a mediocre pedicure and walked out with sore, scratched nails. There was no apology or effort to make things right. This visit was disappointing on all fronts--lack of professionalism, poor technique, and zero accountability. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I chose this salon based on the positive reviews, so I had high hopes. Very sweet nail technician…read morewho was very welcoming. But the end result was patchy and uneven, and one of the nails ended up with debris trapped between the layers of polish. I'm used to very different quality, so this was a bit disappointing.

I have had good and bad experiences at nail salons, but this was definitely THE WORST and RUDEST…read morepedicure experience I've ever received. In short terms, DO NOT GO. The experience went downhill before the service even really started. Trying colors is a completely standard practice at nail salons, but Crystal Sun's practice for some reason cannot deliver. I showed the technician a reference photo of the pink shade I wanted. Since there were dozens of similar pinks on the color board, I simply asked for her advice. Experienced nail technicians usually know which shades are closest to a reference photo, so I thought it was a reasonable question. Instead, she came back with a color that looked almost white. I politely asked, "This is more of a white-ish color, right?" just to confirm. She became impatient and rude, "Just tell me the number of the color (from their color board) you want to have." At that point I was already frustrated, but I picked another color number anyway. Then the owner stepped in and started telling me, "You know this color is very pink..." I asked if I could simply try it so I could see how it looked on my nail. Instead of answering, she kept explaining why I didn't need to try it. So I asked, "So I can't try it?" Her response? "You don't need to give me attitude." I wasn't giving anyone an attitude, as I was asking for advice and trying to communicate what I wanted. I even showed her my reference photo and explained that I was asking because it's difficult to match a picture to a bunch of similar colors. She brushed it off by saying pictures and real life don't always look the same, which is exactly why I wanted to try the color first. She then grabbed another polish and started telling me that darker colors are better for pedicures, again without letting me try it. By then I was exhausted from arguing over something that every other salon I've been to handles without any issue, so I just accepted it and wanted the appointment to be over. Unfortunately, the service itself was just as disappointing as the interaction. The polish application was sloppy, the brush strokes were uneven, my cuticles were barely cleaned up, and the overall finish looked rushed. The worst part? I got home and noticed the polish was already chipping. I've honestly never had a fresh pedicure chip almost immediately (See pictures). I still paid full price for the worst pedicures I've ever received. After this experience, I'm not surprised this salon sits at a 3.8-star rating on Google. I was hoping to find a nail salon in Jersey City that I could return to long-term, but this was a huge mistake. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. DO NOT GO.
