I would have to leave my crying toddler and wrangle him from me with little help from the teachers. We went for all of 2 months and almost weekly, my child would come home with scratch or bite marks on him. There was never an incident report. I would have to notice the mark on my child and call them to ask questions. They would not give me any answers but my child gave me the name of the kid that was continuously hurting him. After this was reported to them, they moved my child and disrupted him instead of dealing with the child that did the hurting. I was told I would get texts and communication through out the day but that happened 1 day. When I would drop off my child in the morning, I'm pretty sure there would be times when the teacher/child ratio did not abide by regulations. I regret ever signing up and sending my child here.

While I haven't been a member of the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center, I have visited it…read moremany times as a part of the community for meetings and events. I have family members who are Valley of the Sun JCC members though. I have always been impressed with their facilities, thought highly of the staff there, and have enjoyed occasional meals at the onsite restaurant. From observing Yom Haatzmaut (Israel Independence Day) and Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) as a community to meetings for one of the organization boards of directors I have served on to the programs that have hosted meetings at the Valley of the Sun JCC like Valley Beit Madrash's Start Me Up Fellowship, I have always felt right at home there. I have also attended resource fairs, exhibit fairs, and travel fairs while getting tested for the Jewish Genetics Diseases Center or going to a special lecture open to the community. I appreciate the security right by the front door as safety is our top priority when coming together as a community. She was shy and did not like change so we would sit out of class and watch until she was comfortable. She quickly adapted and became a vital part of the CofD company in her high school years and has gained genuine friendships with the other dancers; and I have enjoyed being part of the kind-and-down-to-earth dance moms. Teachers like Marco, Kelsey, Hillary, Sharon etc have challenged and guided my daughter into a beautiful dancer and person. Tasteful costumes and trendy styles and music were a plus. We CofD!
